A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 217: Chapter 217: I will definitely not let her have it easy

Lin Jiamu stayed with Mu Yan in the hospital for a night, neither of them slept.

When Song Cheng’an and Luo Yao arrived, Mu Chen had just woken up, and Mu Yan couldn’t care less about the online rumors.

The doctor’s examination results showed that all indicators were fine, which means there was nothing wrong.

In the ward, the first thing Mu Chen said to Mu Yan was, ”Sis, I’m sorry.”

Mu Yan chuckled softly, looking at him teasingly, ”Rare indeed, you actually willingly admitted you were wrong.”

Mu Chen furrowed his brow slightly, ”I don’t think I was wrong in hitting Zhou Lifen, but I’m afraid of implicating you, sis.”

”It seems you haven’t realized where you went wrong at all.” Mu Yan’s face instantly became stern.

Mu Chen stared at her blankly, then shook his head.

Mu Yan looked at him exasperatedly, ”How many times have I told you not to harm yourself for anyone? Are you trying to scare me to death? If something happens to you, what am I supposed to do?”

Mu Chen immediately faltered, repeatedly apologizing, ”Sis, I’m sorry, I was wrong, I’ll never dare do it again.”

Yesterday, he passed out, and his sister must have been very worried.

He was genuinely regretful this time.

That Zhou Lifen deserved to be hit, but he should have been calm.

This time Mu Yan was genuinely a bit angry, but seeing he had just awakened, she didn’t want to blame him.

On the contrary, Mu Chen was still worried about her, ”Sis, will Zhou Lifen retaliate against you because of what happened yesterday?”

Mu Yan chuckled lightly, ”Why are you, as a kid, worrying about so much? Focus on your recovery, don’t worry about other things, I can handle it myself.”

”Sis, I’m not a kid.” Mu Chen was unhappy, he looked at Lin Jiamu, ”Brother Jia Mu...”

Lin Jiamu shrugged, showing a helpless expression.

Mu Yan snorted softly, ”Asking for help is useless. I’m your sister, if I say you are a kid, you are.”

Mu Chen glared at her, unable to vent his frustration.

”Pff...” Song Cheng’an, Luo Yao, and others in the ward laughed.

The bond between this brother and sister was really strong, you would never guess they weren’t biologically related.

After chatting for a while, Mu Yan saw that Mu Chen was somewhat tired and told him to rest.

Upon leaving the ward, Mu Yan received a phone call, noticing that the number seemed familiar.

She pressed the answer button.

”Are you alright?” A familiar female voice came through, with a hint of schadenfreude.

Mu Yan lowered her eyelids and calmly said, ”I should be asking you that. Your forehead was injured, didn’t break any features, did you?”

”If my face truly got ruined, do you think it would be advantageous for you?” Zhou Lifen sneered.

Mu Yan’s lips curled, ”Well, I really don’t see any downside, it’s not like I’m the one disfigured.”

Zhou Lifen seemed angered by her words, ”You’ve got quite a sharp tongue, wait until you get through this mess before acting arrogant in front of me. The entertainment industry isn’t that easy to navigate; you rose to fame stepping on me. Now it’s time you returned it all to me...”

Mu Yan directly interrupted her, ”Whether it’s easy or not, I’ve made it through. Rest assured, I’ll step on you and rise even higher.”

Without waiting for Zhou Lifen to speak, she hung up the phone directly and looked at Song Cheng’an, ”Brother Song, let’s discuss the solution, shall we?”

Song Cheng’an was somewhat regretful, ”Yesterday I went through various connections trying to cover this up, but it didn’t seem effective. The incident happened too suddenly.”

Mu Yan calmly browsed through the criticisms directed at her on Weibo, ”There’s no such thing as a wall that doesn’t leak. If it can’t be concealed, then let it be exposed. This day was bound to come sooner or later.”

Song Cheng’an looked at her, she was probably the most composed artist he had ever seen.

”The matter this time isn’t difficult to settle, but it will certainly impact your reputation.”

Mu Yan was indifferent, ”How many celebrities in the entertainment industry don’t have some dirt? I’m not that fragile.”

She paused, her eyes turning cold, ”Of course, for what she did to Mu Chen, I definitely won’t let her get away with it.”
