A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 214: Chapter 214: She Has Clung to a Wealthy Patron for a Long Time!

Standing at the door of the ward for a moment, Mu Yan went to find Director Huang to inquire about the condition.

Director Huang looked at Mu Yan and said, ”I mentioned before, Mu Chen can’t get agitated. Luckily, the rescue was timely this time, otherwise the consequences would have been unimaginable.”

Mu Yan pressed her lips together and said, ”This time it was my oversight. When will he wake up?”

”This needs observation. Rest assured, he is currently out of life-threatening danger.”

Mu Yan breathed a sigh of relief and asked, ”Will this incident affect his condition?”

”Of course, his heart’s tolerance is getting worse. We need to find a suitable heart quickly.”

”I understand. Thank you, Director Huang.” Mu Yan stood up to express her gratitude.

”You’re welcome.”

Leaving the office, Mu Yan felt all her strength being drained away, and she fell towards the ground.

Luo Yao quickly reached out to support her.

”Are you okay?” she asked.

Mu Yan shook her head, ”I’m fine.”

She steadied herself and walked forward.

At that moment, Xiao Nan came towards her. Seeing Mu Yan’s pale face, he comforted her, ”Don’t worry too much, Mu Chen will be fine.”

Mu Yan nodded, ”Thank you.”

Xiao Nan saw her trying to be strong and said softly, ”If you’re upset, just let it out and cry.”

Mu Yan shook her head, ”Isn’t Mu Chen fine? There’s nothing for me to be upset about. I’ll go accompany Mu Chen now, you get back to work.”

Without waiting for Xiao Nan to speak, she kept walking forward.

Xiao Nan turned back to look at her retreating figure, his eyes filled with pain.

How could she not be upset? To her, Mu Chen was more important than her own life.

”Doctor Xiao, I really didn’t mean it.” A female voice came from behind.

Xiao Nan turned around to see Zou Ye running over, wiping her tears, looking aggrieved.

”What’s going on?”

Zou Ye sniffled, ”The head nurse just scolded me, blaming me for bringing Zhou Lifen to Mu Chen’s ward. But how was I supposed to know that Mu Chen would get into a fight with her and then have a heart attack?”

Xiao Nan looked incredulous, ”You brought her there? Didn’t you know she has a bad relationship with Mu Yan?”

Zou Ye looked at his disappointed face and felt even more aggrieved, ”How would I know? I thought since Zhou Lifen donated money to Mu Chen before, it shouldn’t be a problem for her to visit him.”

Xiao Nan didn’t know what to say. Technically, Zou Ye was unintentionally at fault, but Mu Chen almost lost his life because of it.

Zou Ye felt she wasn’t wrong and, recalling the head nurse’s scolding, couldn’t help but say, ”If you ask me, it’s all Mu Chen’s fault. Why would he lash out at Zhou Lifen? Isn’t that biting the hand that feeds you?”

”Can you shut up?” Xiao Nan said coldly, ”Mu Chen almost died because of you, do you not feel any guilt in your heart?”

Zou Ye was rendered speechless. As much as she disliked Mu Yan, a human life hung in the balance.

Xiao Nan said sternly, ”You need to apologize to Mu Yan and Mu Chen.”

Zou Ye wasn’t having it, ”Why should I? The head nurse already scolded me enough.”

Besides, she didn’t do anything wrong, so why should she apologize?

Seeing Xiao Nan about to get angry, she gritted her teeth and said, ”Doctor Xiao, do you really think that by protecting her like this, she’ll be moved by you? She’s a big star now, how could she even consider you?”

Xiao Nan’s face changed slightly, clearly stung by Zou Ye’s words.

He said coldly, ”That’s my business.”

Zou Ye saw him holding onto his infatuated hopes and chuckled coldly, ”Doctor Xiao, you better wake up. She’s long since found a wealthy backer.”

Xiao Nan ignored her and turned into the office.

Zou Ye watched his retreating figure and stomped her foot, ”I’ll prove it to you.”
