A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 204: Chapter 204: She wouldn’t have blocked him too, right?

Mu Yan was kept up all night by Jiang Jingheng’s words, ”Wait for me.”

Early the next morning, around six, Song Cheng’an came to pick her up for the airport and saw her with two panda eyes. He asked with a smile, ”Did you have a fight with Zhou Gong last night?”

Mu Yan, ”...”

It wasn’t her fault.

Blame it on a certain jerk who just flirted and ran.

She tried calling Jiang Jingheng in the morning, but still couldn’t reach him.

”Brother Song, did anything happen at Jiang Jingheng’s company?” Mu Yan asked.

Song Cheng’an glanced at her and laughed, ”Don’t worry, even if Upper City is no more, the Jiang Family won’t go bankrupt in your lifetime.”

Mu Yan, ”...”

That wasn’t what she was asking.

But it seems Jiang Jingheng’s company is fine, so is it a personal matter?

”Why did you suddenly ask this?” Song Cheng’an inquired.

Mu Yan thought for a moment and said, ”I can’t reach him on the phone.”

”He must be busy, or maybe abroad,” Song Cheng’an replied.

”Mm.” Mu Yan nodded.

Song Cheng’an handed her the recent itinerary, ”After running some promotions for ’Dragon Soaring’ in other provinces, you’ll need to prepare for the IOC ad shoot. Also, ’Pure Consort’ starts filming at the end of September, you need to use your time wisely.”

Mu Yan blushed slightly at his words. For the past few days, she hadn’t been focusing on the script due to matters with Jiang Jingheng.

”Don’t worry, Brother Song, I will do my best.”

Song Cheng’an naturally didn’t know what Mu Yan was thinking. He continued, ”’Immortal Fate’ begins filming around December, so there’s more time for that.”

”Mm.”

”By the way, what’s your plan with ’Voice of Dreams’?”

Mu Yan looked at him in surprise, ”What about it?”

Song Cheng’an paused for a moment and said, ”Considering your current schedule, you don’t have time to prepare songs.”

”Are you suggesting I withdraw?” Mu Yan asked.

”Rather than performing poorly and being criticized, it’s better to withdraw early.”

Mu Yan didn’t quite agree with Song Cheng’an’s suggestion; she was never one to back down.

As if understanding what she was thinking, Song Cheng’an said, ”I asked you before, do you plan to pursue a career in singing, acting, and dancing? You said you didn’t want to.”

Mu Yan nodded; that was indeed what she had said.

Her initial passion was acting.

Song Cheng’an continued, ”Specialization allows for a long-lasting career.”

Mu Yan understood what he meant. Although she currently has a few works in the film and television industry, she only plays supporting roles.

As a B- or C-list actress, to have a long career, she needs to focus on acting, take on more high-quality scripts, and raise her status.

The ’Cold Night’ crew easily gave up on her because her talent wasn’t remarkable enough.

Even if she shined in ’Voice of Dreams’, once the show ends, who will remember her?

”I understand,” Mu Yan nodded, ”I’ll withdraw.”

Song Cheng’an was pleased with Mu Yan’s clarity. Many people only see short-term benefits and lack long-term vision.

What does giving up a singing competition crown matter when she could win the Best Actress award in the future? That would be her lifelong honor.

Soon after, they arrived at the airport.

Time was tight, and Song Cheng’an led Mu Yan through the check-in procedures and then they proceeded to the boarding area.

Around nine in the morning, a flight from Germany landed in Upper City.

Jiang Jingheng emerged from the airport, travel-worn, pulled out his phone, and turned it on to call Mu Yan.

However, the phone notified him, ”The number you have dialed is currently switched off!”

Jiang Jingheng tried a few more times, his expression somewhat complicated. Could she have blocked him too?
