A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 212: Chapter 212 Mu Chen’s Severe Illness

In the evening, after the promotional event ended, Mu Yan returned to the hotel to rest.

She had just arrived at the hotel when Jiang Jingheng called.

”Back at the hotel?”

”Yeah.” Mu Yan took off her high heels and sat on the bed, ”What about you?”

”I’m outside. Have you eaten?”

”I have.” Mu Yan replied and then asked, ”What about you?”

”No.”

”Why haven’t you eaten yet?” Mu Yan immediately asked.

”Time difference.”

Mu Yan suddenly remembered there was a six to seven hour time difference between them, and it was only around two or three in the afternoon on his side.

”Have you missed me?” he asked.

Mu Yan’s face instantly turned red. These past few days, he asked this every time he called.

She pursed her lips and said insincerely, ”No.”

”Really? Then I must be really pitiful, missing Mrs. Jiang so much that I can’t eat or sleep, yet she doesn’t miss me at all.”

Mu Yan was utterly speechless, wondering how someone could be so thick-skinned.

”I miss you, miss you to death. Is that good enough?”

A low laugh came, ”That’s good.”

Mu Yan realized she had been tricked and was about to speak when she suddenly heard someone speaking on the other end of the call.

Then Jiang Jingheng said, ”Go to bed early tonight. Something’s come up here, I have to go now.”

”Okay, don’t work too hard.”

”Goodnight!”

Mu Yan hung up the phone and lay on the bed, her heart pounding, the air filled with a rosy atmosphere.

She covered her face, wondering if this was what being in love felt like.

Jiang Jingheng hung up and went into the hospital room, saying to the person on the bed, ”You’ll go into surgery soon, I’ll wait outside for you.”

”Okay.” Jiang Wenhao nodded.

The promotional event finally reached its last stop, this time making Mu Yan and Li Yushen the focal points.

Someone asked Li Yushen if he liked a girl like Mu Yan in real life.

Li Yushen was a bit helpless, ”Are you trying to set a trap for me?”

Laughter erupted from the audience.

Li Yushen continued, ”In the movie, there’s no doubt that Dragon Soaring loves Qingcheng. Outside the movie, Mu Yan is my junior apprentice sister, I have to protect her, or the master will be after me.”

The laughter grew louder.

Very quickly, someone threw the same question to Mu Yan.

Mu Yan’s answer was similar to Li Yushen’s, causing the whole audience to burst into laughter. Everyone said they truly were from the same school, flawless in their responses.

The promotional event concluded, and Chen Zhou wanted to treat everyone to dinner.

Song Cheng’an suddenly approached backstage with a serious look at Mu Yan, ”Mu Yan, come over here for a moment, I have something to tell you.”

Mu Yan gave him a puzzled look, told Chen Zhou and the others, and walked over.

In the corner, Song Cheng’an lowered his voice, ”Luo Yao just called, your brother was sent to the emergency room.”

Mu Yan looked at him in disbelief, ”What happened? How did he end up in the emergency room all of a sudden?”

”Don’t panic, pack your things, and we’ll leave immediately. I’ll explain on the way.”

Mu Yan knew she had to stay calm at this moment. She slapped her face gently, took a deep breath, and went to say goodbye to Chen Zhou and the others.

In the car, Song Cheng’an explained the situation.

”Today, Zhou Lifen brought a bunch of reporters to the hospital, visiting patients under the guise of a philanthropist. Mu Chen was one of them. She deliberately defamed and insulted you with her words. Mu Chen got very angry and threw things at her, telling her to leave. But she refused to give up, continued to insult you, and along with those oblivious reporters, Mu Chen became overly agitated, triggering his heart condition.”

Mu Yan seemed not to hear, rubbing her hands together continuously, veins bulging on her hands, her face pale as a sheet.

Song Cheng’an initially wanted to tell her that if this matter wasn’t handled well, it could severely damage her reputation, but seeing her state, he couldn’t bring himself to say anything more.
