Divine Emperor of Heavenly Destiny

As he said this, the corner of Vice Commander Liu’s mouth twitched into a deeply mocking smirk.

No normal man could endure such a thing, but Vice Commander Liu was determined to ”congratulate” him—determined to humiliate Lu Chao.

Although he hadn’t personally encountered Lu Chao in the Azure Flame Sect’s Forbidden Land...

...the man had killed several of his Red Sword Guards and crippled Chi Ting. To have several Red Sword Guards slain by someone from the insignificant Azure Flame Domain was a tremendous humiliation for the Young City Lord.

Regardless of what had happened inside the Azure Flame Sect’s Forbidden Land, the Young City Lord would never let Lu Chao go.

This was, of course, the reason why Vice Commander Liu had personally brought men to Saint Su City without waiting for orders.

Seeing that Lu Chao remained silent, Vice Commander Liu continued…

”I don’t know what transpired between you and our Young City Lord in the Forbidden Land, but from his letter, it’s clear he’s quite angry with you.”

”So I advise you to kneel before me now. Stay kneeling here until our Young City Lord arrives.”

”Then, you will present that somewhat magical wife of yours to him with your own two hands and do everything you can to please our Young City Lord. If you do, perhaps he’ll be merciful and spare your worthless life.”

Vice Commander Liu’s voice grew increasingly nonchalant, still laced with mockery and amusement.

’Now that I’ve finally made a trip to the Azure Flame Domain, I should have some fun trampling on the local trash...’

Shen Ji, standing to the side, certainly didn’t want Lu Chao to survive, but he said nothing, simply watching Lu Chao with a smile.

He knew Lu Chao would never comply.

Elder Lady Su, however, rushed forward and bellowed, ”Lu Chao, you little beast! Why aren’t you doing as you’re told? Look what you’ve done to our Saint Bone Su Family! Kneel and kowtow now! It might not be too late!”

Su Jueying also sneered, ”Kneel and kowtow. We’ll put in a good word for you.”

In reality, they had no influence whatsoever with the people from Red Sword City, but they had to say it anyway.

Su Jueying continued, ”Lu Chao, we all underestimated you. So you really are the Great Wu Lu Chao. But it’s useless. Before the experts of the Cyan Sword Great Empire, you can do nothing but kneel.”

The uninjured members of the Su Family also hurled all sorts of insults…

They had to put on a good show. That was the only way to curry favor with the Young City Lord of Red Sword. It would also provoke Lu Chao into acting rashly, which might prevent Cheng Yunsu from ending up in the Young City Lord’s bedchamber.

Cheng Chuming, meanwhile, was calling for Lu Chao to take Cheng Yunsu and escape at once.

Amidst the chaotic mess of voices from all around, Lu Chao finally spoke. ”Vice Commander Liu, is it? I have something I’d like to give you. Something for you to take back to your Young City Lord...”

His voice was calm, as if completely unmoved by the surrounding cacophony.

Vice Commander Liu paused, momentarily stunned, then asked dismissively, ”What is it?”

SWISH...

Suddenly, Lu Chao tossed something over. Vice Commander Liu caught it instinctively. His eyes flew wide open the moment he saw it, and he immediately flung it away, shrieking, ”This finger! What the hell is this?!”

That’s right. What Lu Chao had thrown to Vice Commander Liu was a severed, dead finger.

Lu Chao shrugged.

Lu Chao replied nonchalantly, ”You’d best pick that finger up. I twisted it off your Young City Lord’s hand myself.”

The moment his words fell, Vice Commander Liu’s gaze froze. The ten Red Sword Guards froze. Shen Ji’s jaw dropped in disbelief. The entire scene fell abruptly silent.

Lu Chao had twisted off the finger of the Young City Lord of Red Sword?

After a two-breath pause, Vice Commander Liu snapped coldly, ”Impossible! You alone?”

He refused to believe it. The Young City Lord had Commander Ke and ten Blood Sword Guards protecting him. But even if he didn’t, he was not someone a person from the insignificant Azure Flame Domain could possibly defeat. Even the strongest expert in the Azure Flame Domain was no match for the Young City Lord.

But then... SHING!

Abruptly, a crimson sword appeared in Lu Chao’s hand.

He toyed with the sword, a faint smile playing on his lips. ”The Red Patterned Sword. This belongs to your Young City Lord, doesn’t it?”

At these words, Vice Commander Liu’s eyes bulged again. He stared in utter disbelief at the sword in Lu Chao’s hand. It was, without a doubt, their Young City Lord’s Red Patterned Sword. How could it be in Lu Chao’s possession?

”This finger was wearing Chi Xingxun’s Storage Ring when I twisted it off.”

”My wife then smashed his Storage Ring and happened to find quite a few nice things inside. The Red Patterned Sword was just one of them.”

Lu Chao continued, casually producing a few more items from Chi Xingxun’s Storage Ring.

STUMBLE! STUMBLE! STUMBLE! Vice Commander Liu’s face went pale, and he staggered back several steps. The smugness was gone from his face, replaced by a mixture of terror and rage.

”You... what are you so suddenly afraid of?”

”Oh, I see now. You allowed us to enter the Azure Flame Sect’s Forbidden Land. You didn’t stop us. And as a result, Chi Xingxun is now the nine-fingered Young City Lord.”

”And when you learned I had left the Forbidden Land, you didn’t come after me immediately.”

”Your Young City Lord will be furious about all of this, won’t he?”

Lu Chao’s voice continued, each word hammering into the ears of the crowd and sending a deep chill through Vice Commander Liu and his men.

Apart from Lu Chao’s voice, it seemed as if only a terrifying, ghostly wind could be heard.

Behind Lu Chao, Cheng Yunsu was already cultivating silently. The Flying Feather Black Eagle that had been in the sky was nowhere to be seen.

But no one was in any mood to notice such details.

”Quickly! Get the Young City Lord’s finger and bring it here!” Vice Commander Liu’s trembling voice finally broke the silence.

A Red Sword Guard scrambled to retrieve the finger from the ground and rushed it back to Vice Commander Liu. The Vice Commander frantically inspected it, his mind racing, wondering if it could possibly be reattached.

Unfortunately, it had long since withered...

At the same time, Elder Lady Su snapped back to her senses and shrieked, ”Lu Chao, you damned beast! How could you...”

Before she could finish, Lu Chao cut her off.

”Elder Lady Su, your shouting is useless.”

”I twisted off one of Chi Xingxun’s fingers and took everything he owned. Even if you kneel and beg him, he will most certainly slaughter all of you. He’ll kill every last one of you to vent his rage.”

At this moment, Lu Chao’s voice was far more terrifying than Vice Commander Liu’s had been.

Suddenly, Elder Lady Su was rendered speechless.

Beside her, Su Jueying and the others felt their legs go weak, and they nearly collapsed.

Behind Su Jueying, a middle-aged man started screaming...

”Lu Chao, why did you have to ruin us like this?! You... you... I’ll kill you!”

This middle-aged man from the Saint Bone Su Family had originally thought they could curry favor with Red Sword City. Now he understood: Lu Chao’s actions would cause the Young City Lord of Red Sword to slaughter their entire Saint Bone Su Family to vent his anger.

Lu Chao’s father-in-law was their Patriarch; they would surely be implicated.

His composure shattered completely, and he charged crazily toward Lu Chao.

But Lu Chao simply flicked his finger... BANG!

A tiny blood sword shot out, striking the man from the Saint Bone Su Family right between the eyes. His head exploded on the spot, and he was as dead as could be.

That’s right. Just kill.

”My son!”

Su Jueying let out an inhuman shriek and rushed toward the man Lu Chao had just killed. It was his son.

But Lu Chao merely smiled indifferently and replied slowly, ”I’m not just here to ruin you. I’m also here... to kill you.”
