Divine Emperor of Heavenly Destiny

Among them, naturally, were the Azure Flame Rising Dragon Sword Techniques that Lu Chao and the Dragon Flame King had previously cultivated.

After a quick perusal, Lu Chao took a deep breath and sighed in amazement...

’Amazing. No wonder the people from Red Sword City would risk a bloody battle with Yan Soul City just to enter the Azure Flame Sect.’

’If this Azure Flame Treasure Manual ever got out, countless experts would undoubtedly fight to the death for it.’

’It’s a good thing the Green Bone Palace issued that two-hundred-year ban. Otherwise, I’m afraid there wouldn’t be even a speck of dust left of the Azure Flame Sect, right?’

At this thought, Lu Chao put away the *Azure Flame Treasure Manual*. For now, he had no time to study and cultivate it...

On the way back to the Dragon Flame Kingdom, he needed to cultivate his own abilities. In the past few days of entanglement with Red Sword City, he had devoured two Shen Family Star Saint Bones and Chi Ting’s Moon Mortal Red Bee Bone. He had also summoned the Moon Profound Breaking Soldier Bone...

On top of that, he had consumed many Azure Flame Bone-Refining Pills. All this had propelled his realm to the Peak Realm First Layer in a short time, but now his body was in chaos. He needed to cultivate and sort things out, purge the side effects of the Elixir Pills, and fully comprehend the Meridian Map of the Moon Profound Breaking Soldier Bone.

At the same time, he also had to figure out how to unleash the full power of the ten foreign Destiny Bones, led by the Moon Mortal Red Bee Bone.

And so, Lu Chao sat down gently on the back of the Flying Bird Demon Beast.

He then looked over at Cheng Yunsu and was suddenly startled by what he saw. ’Xiao Su’er’s Star Fire Sparrow Bone has already fully fused into her own Destiny Bone. It’s almost flawless and is even advancing toward a Moon Mortal Bone. But that’s the thing—her own Destiny Bone is gone. The Star Fire Sparrow Bone was an external fusion. It shouldn’t be able to advance, but it is...’

’The blood in her veins is still boiling...’

’The Fire Sparrow Bracelet is still continuously transferring energy to her. I have no idea what state she’ll be in when it’s all over.’

’But it’s definitely not a bad thing.’

After making this judgment, Lu Chao finally settled his mind and began to cultivate.

Although the situation was dire—Nan Zhuiming might assassinate Dragon Flame Master Wang, and Mo Jing could make a move against Marshal Fan—the Flying Bird Demon Beast could only fly so fast. Worrying wouldn’t change a thing.

...

「Beneath Sword Thinking Peak... RUSTLE, RUSTLE, RUSTLE!」

The soft sound of footsteps suddenly broke the silence, and then an old man slowly emerged. It was none other than Shen Ji, the Patriarch of the Saint Bone Shen Family.

He walked over to Zheng Liling’s corpse and exclaimed in shock, ”Zheng Liling? What is he doing dead here?”

As members of the Six Great Saint Bone Families of the Azure Flame Domain, Shen Ji of course recognized Zheng Liling.

A few days ago, after Lu Chao’s group entered the Azure Flame Forbidden Land, he had gone to the Beast Flame Academy to collect the bodies of his family members. Afterward, instead of returning to the Azure Flame Sect’s Forbidden Land, he had found a room to recuperate.

Chang Yuan had wounded him severely.

It wasn’t until a short while ago that he sensed some kind of disturbance on Sword Thinking Peak and immediately rushed over to investigate, only to find Zheng Liling’s corpse.

He stepped forward to examine the body, then suddenly muttered to himself, ”’He just died. Perfect. My Heavenly Blood Sword Bone has a Secret Technique that can induce a Dying Glow. I can see if he has any last wishes... It would be best if he hands over all the Saint Bone Zheng Family’s arrangements to me...’”

’I will have my revenge! I will destroy the entire Dragon Flame Kingdom and kill everyone and everything Lu Chao holds dear!’

No sooner said than done...

Shen Ji suddenly unleashed the aura of his Blood Sword Bone, enveloping Zheng Liling’s body. He used some unknown Secret Technique, and the aura of Zheng Liling’s dead Destiny Bone suddenly flared to life.

In that instant, Zheng Liling’s eyes shot open...

He immediately rasped, ”Shen Ji, avenge me! It was Lu Chao... It was Lu Chao...”

A tremor shot through Shen Ji’s body, and a terrifyingly cold glint flared in his eyes.

”Take my body... find my family’s Zheng Zhuhe and the Elders... They are gathering in the mountains near Saint Zheng City.”

”Go to the Dragon Flame Kingdom... cause trouble... Go to Saint Su City... kill Lu Chao’s father-in-law... Go... GAH!”

At this, Zheng Liling coughed up a mouthful of blood and died for good.

The Dying Glow had ended.

Shen Ji slowly rose to his feet, the corner of his mouth twitching into a smirk. ”Rest in peace. I will fulfill your last wish.”

”Saint Su City... the Dragon Flame Kingdom... Hehehehe.”

Shen Ji let out a horrifyingly cold laugh, but then he suddenly froze. ’Isn’t Lu Chao trapped in the Forbidden Land? How could he be here... and have killed Zheng Liling...? No, this won’t do. I have to find Chi Ting and Chi Yuan.’

With that thought, Shen Ji’s figure flashed, and he departed, heading back to the Azure Flame Sect’s Forbidden Land.

「Outside the Forbidden Land...」

The fourteen Red Sword Guards were still there, along with Chi Ting, who had already lost his Destiny Bone. When Chi Ting learned of the situation, he immediately sent the Red Sword Guards inside to inform Chi Yuan and the others.

Soon, Chi Yuan and Vice Commander Liu emerged swiftly from the 5th Floor.

They had been waiting on the 5th Floor for days without any sign of Lu Chao or the Young City Lord. To suddenly receive news that Lu Chao had killed Zheng Liling on Sword Thinking Peak left them utterly stunned.

Chi Yuan and Vice Commander Liu stared at each other, nonplussed.

”You possess a Blood Sword Bone and are a descendant of the Blood Sword Guard. It’s true that you can briefly awaken the recently deceased and induce a Dying Glow.”

”Since that’s what Zheng Liling said, it must be true.”

Chi Yuan analyzed the situation quietly before finally saying, ”This Lu Chao is the successor to the Azure Flame Sect. Perhaps he really does have a way to sneak out of the Forbidden Land. Vice Commander Liu... what do you think we should do?”

Informing the Young City Lord was impossible. With their level of Soldier Dao, they couldn’t get any deeper.

But letting Lu Chao just run off like this was also not an option...

They didn’t even know that inside the Forbidden Land, Lu Chao had already twisted off one of their Young City Lord’s fingers. They only felt that Lu Chao had to be killed, especially since several Red Sword Guards had already died at his hands.

Finally, Vice Commander Liu mulled it over and said, ”Let’s wait a few more days. If the Young City Lord still hasn’t come out by then, I’ll personally take a few Red Sword Guards and Shen Ji for a little trip to this Dragon Flame Kingdom.”

Chi Yuan nodded in agreement...

At that moment, however, Chi Ting cried out hoarsely, ”Go after him now! Help me get my Red Bee Bone back!”

Unfortunately, no one paid him any mind.

...

「In the deepest part of the Forbidden Land... VMMMM!」

The Young City Lord, Chi Xingxun, had finally broken through the 9th Floor and emerged.

He and his five Blood Sword Guards looked around and saw the message Commander Ke had left behind. Instantly, the ashen expression on Chi Xingxun’s face darkened.

A low, furious roar erupted from his throat...

”Send word! Hunt down that Azure Flame Sect disciple immediately!”

The five Blood Sword Guards glanced at each other. ’Send word? How the hell are we supposed to do that? The Young City Lord must be so consumed by rage he’s forgotten we’re in the deepest part of the Forbidden Land.’

Unfortunately, they had no way to telepathically communicate with Chi Yuan’s group outside. If they had, and Chi Xingxun learned they were planning to wait several days before going to the Dragon Flame Kingdom, he would have surely ripped them a new one.
