Divine Emperor of Heavenly Destiny

That was right. Zeng Quan was currently near the Azure Flame Sect.

Ten days ago...

Forced by Lu Chao, Zeng Quan had sent a message to Nan Zhuiming. Nan Zhuiming then relayed the information about ”Red Sword City” to Mo Jing. Upon receiving the message, Mo Jing had flown into a rage and immediately set out from Cyan Sword Mountain with his experts.

They had, of course, carved a bloody path all the way to the Azure Flame Sect, only just now arriving.

At the same time, Mo Jing had also sent a message ordering Nan Zhuiming to continue the assassination, and telling Zeng Quan to wait for him near the Azure Flame Sect.

That was why Zeng Quan had returned to the vicinity of the Azure Flame Sect, and now, he had finally met up with Mo Jing.

Upon seeing Zeng Quan, Mo Jing immediately asked, ”Where is Zheng Liling?”

Lifting his head slightly, Zeng Quan quickly replied, ”Zheng Liling is dead. He was killed by those people from... Red Sword City.”

Just as Zeng Quan had told Lu Chao he would...

He didn’t mention encountering Lu Chao. Instead, he pinned Zheng Liling’s death on Red Sword City. He continued, ”I barely escaped with my life. I was at Green Bone Peak, and I jumped into the water...”

Zeng Quan had already concocted a story about his daring escape.

However, Mo Jing had no patience to listen. He cut him off sharply, ”Enough. Are you certain they were from Red Sword City?”

The question made Zeng Quan’s heart pound...

He had never actually met anyone from Red Sword City; everything he knew had come from Lu Chao.

He had no choice now but to bite the bullet and nod. ”Yes, it was Red Sword City. They want to seize the treasure in the Azure Flame Sect’s Forbidden Land. Zheng Liling and I were just unlucky enough to overhear them, and that’s why they came after us.”

”Even though we didn’t know what Red Sword City was, they were viciously cursing Young Master Yan Mu, which is what made us want to kill them.”

”But as soon as our killing intent emerged, they discovered us.”

”Oh, right. The people from Red Sword City also cursed Yan Soul City, saying that Young Master Yan Mu was the biggest piece of trash in the entire city.”

Hearing those last words, the killing intent in Mo Jing’s eyes flared to an extreme intensity...

He had never told Nan Zhuiming or the others that they were from Yan Soul City of Cyan Sword. Therefore, the fact that Zeng Quan could now utter the three words ”Yan Soul City” proved that he had undoubtedly encountered people from Red Sword City.

Just then, Zeng Quan suddenly dropped to his knees. ”Lord Mo Jing, I sent the message the moment I escaped. But at the time, I wasn’t sure if I had truly gotten away, so I couldn’t go into detail in the message. Please, my lord, punish me.”

Mo Jing looked at Zeng Quan and waved his hand dismissively...

”You did very well. You’ve performed a great service. You’re much more capable than that useless piece of trash, Nan Zhuiming.”

At these words, the tension in Zeng Quan’s heart completely dissolved, replaced by overwhelming joy.

’Lu Chao was right! This really is a great service!’

Suddenly, he couldn’t help but ask, ”Lord Mo Jing, what happened to Patriarch Nan?”

Mo Jing snorted coldly and spoke with indifference...

”That useless trash failed his assassination attempt in the Dragon Flame Royal Capital. And after running into Lu Chao, he couldn’t even kill him! A Creation Realm expert fought Lu Chao, who’s only at the Peak Second Layer, to a draw.”

”He nearly died in the Dragon Flame Royal Capital. If he isn’t trash, what is he?”

As Mo Jing spoke, Zeng Quan’s heart trembled violently...

’Even Nan Zhuiming couldn’t take down Lu Chao! It’s a good thing I didn’t mention meeting him, or I’d be the one getting called trash right now.’

’It seems there’s no shame in me and Zheng Liling losing to Lu Chao after all.’

”But no matter...”

”The assassination of the Dragon Flame King was meant to lure that Lu Chao back from the Great Wu Empire, clearing the way for Lu Dingtian to take over the entire empire. Now that Lu Chao has returned to the Dragon Flame Kingdom so quickly, I suppose our objective has been met.”

Mo Jing continued...

”I’ve already sent Nan Zhuiming to kill Fan Changcun. Given what a complete waste he is, I even assigned a few Yan Soul Guards to help him.”

”Hmph...”

”If he hadn’t happened to run into me while escaping the Dragon Flame Royal Capital, he probably would have been hunted down and killed by the Dragon Flame Kingdom.”

”If he weren’t the commander-in-chief of the Nanye Dynasty and useful for the act we’re putting on for Young Master Yan Mu, I would have killed him myself.”

At this point, Mo Jing frowned...

”Why am I telling you all this? Get up. Come with me into the Azure Flame Sect and see if the people from Red Sword City have left.”

Nodding emphatically, Zeng Quan quickly scrambled to his feet.

’Nan Zhuiming is one lucky bastard, escaping from Lu Chao’s grasp like that.’

If Lu Chao could have heard Mo Jing’s words right now, he would have understood why he couldn’t catch Nan Zhuiming. The man had run into Mo Jing by pure chance, which also meant that Lu Chao and Mo Jing had passed each other by somewhere within the Dragon Flame Kingdom.

In any case, while Zeng Quan was still marveling to himself, Mo Jing suddenly looked up...

”Someone is coming out from inside the Azure Flame Sect. They’re riding the Demon Beasts of Cyan Sword Mountain...”

”Mm, it really is people from Red Sword City. That’s the Young City Lord Red Sword, Chi Xingxun, and that Commander of the Red Sword Guard, Ke.”

As soon as he said this, Zeng Quan quickly looked up as well. Sure enough, he saw more than twenty Flying Bird Demon Beast mounts emerging from the Azure Flame Sect.

”That Lu Chao fellow said he didn’t get the treasure from the Azure Flame Sect’s Forbidden Land. I wonder if that’s true or not...”

”Perhaps it is.”

”There were rumors back then that the Storage Ring of Cang Xu, the Azure Flame Sect Leader from two hundred years ago, fell into the hands of Red Sword City. Now that Chi Xingxun is leaving, it seems they’ve finished cracking the Azure Flame Sect’s Forbidden Land.”

”A bunch of damned bastards. Everything in the Azure Flame Domain should belong to my Yan Soul City.”

Atop a certain mountain peak, Mo Jing’s crazed voice echoed.

Having said this, Mo Jing gave another cold command, ”All of you, surround the people from Red Sword City for me.”

「Meanwhile...」

Chi Xingxun stood on the back of a True Fate Realm Flying Bird Demon Beast. He stared off in the direction of the Dragon Flame Kingdom and said viciously, ”Disciple of the Azure Flame Sect, you will soon learn just how terrifying the wrath of Chi Xingxun can be.”

He was already imagining how he would toy with Lu Chao, Cheng Yunsu, and the others in Saint Su City, playing them like puppets in the palm of his hand.

”Not only will I take your woman, but I’ll also chop off every single one of your fingers.”

Chi Xingxun continued to seethe with silent malice...

But at that very moment, Commander Ke’s eyes shot wide open and he yelled, ”Who’s there? Show yourself!”

The words had barely left his mouth... SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!

Streams of flying riders burst out from a mountain peak, causing Commander Ke and the Blood Sword Guards to stare wide-eyed and cry out in alarm, ”The Yan Soul Guard!”

WHOOSH...

In the next instant, the massive shadow of a wolf shot into the sky, prompting another shout from Commander Ke and his men: ”A Sword-Winged Ice Wolf!”

A terrifying voice followed, ringing out, ”Red Sword City, you have some nerve... The Azure Flame Domain has already been handed over to us, Yan Soul City! Everything in the Azure Flame Domain belongs to my Yan Soul City, and yet you dare to sneak in here.”

That voice...

It belonged, of course, to Mo Jing. He rode the Sword-Winged Ice Wolf, his entire body radiating a seething killing intent.

Commander Ke trembled slightly and then ordered, ”Everyone, protect the Young City Lord!”

At the same time, Chi Xingxun, who had been lost in his fantasies, was stunned. He yelled, ”Mo Jing! You dog-slave of Yan Soul City, what are you doing here? How did you find us?!”

To this, Mo Jing simply replied in a voice as cold as bone, ”Hand over the treasure from the Azure Flame Sect’s Forbidden Land.”
