Divine Emperor of Heavenly Destiny

Everyone from Dragon Flame Academy stared wide-eyed, watching as the Flying Feather Black Eagle and Lu Chao blurred into afterimages. Every one of them pulsed with True Qi, ready to receive the signal and charge into Saint Su City at a moment’s notice.

...

「Su Mansion, Front Courtyard...」

Everyone, including Vice Commander Liu, stared at Cheng Yunsu in utter disbelief.

Shen Ji couldn’t help but exclaim, ”What kind of Heavenly Destiny Bone aura is this? Why is it so terrifying? What... what the hell is she?”

It wasn’t just Shen Ji. Everyone felt as if their own Heavenly Destiny Bones were about to be crushed to pieces by Cheng Yunsu’s Flaming Giant Sparrow.

Cheng Yunsu was clearly still impaled by the dagger, yet the power radiating from her was so terrifying that even Vice Commander Liu, who possessed a Moon Mortal Bone, couldn’t stop his heart from pounding in his chest.

For a moment, no one could make sense of what was happening with Cheng Yunsu, but one thing was certain: she was not dead.

Meanwhile, Cheng Chuming, covered in blood and on the verge of collapse, finally stopped crying out his daughter’s name. Wiping the bloody tears from his face, he murmured, ”This aura... it’s like Hongying’s... Yunsu, you have to be okay.”

Behind Cheng Yunsu, Wu Yiyi was still sprawled on the ground.

Her eyes were fixed on the scene before her.

’Damn it, why isn’t Cheng Yunsu dead yet? Fucking hell, how did she suddenly erupt with such terrifying power?’

’This won’t do. I have to kill her.’

’Right now, everyone is blocked by her Fire Sparrow. I can make my move again, and I can still pin the blame on Zheng Zhuhe.’

At this thought, Wu Yiyi scrambled back to her feet and charged viciously toward Cheng Yunsu.

「Above the Su Mansion...」

A black afterimage suddenly flashed into view. The Flying Feather Black Eagle had arrived.

Aboard the Flying Feather Black Eagle, Lu Chao’s eyes widened as he stared down at the Su Mansion. The very first thing he saw was Wu Yiyi lunging for Cheng Yunsu’s back.

He saw a dagger still embedded in Cheng Yunsu’s chest.

Shock and rage instantly flooded his heart. He roared from the sky, ”Xiao Su’er, behind you...!”

As he spoke, a Blood Sword materialized beside him. With a WHOOSH, it plummeted from the sky, shooting toward Wu Yiyi.

Wu Yiyi’s eyes flew open. Instinctively sensing the danger, she dodged to the side and threw herself into a hard roll.

Just in the nick of time... BANG!

Lu Chao’s True Qi Blood Sword slammed into the ground behind Cheng Yunsu, and both the earth and the sword shattered into dust.

If not for the considerable distance, it would have been impossible for someone of Wu Yiyi’s strength to evade the blow.

”Who is it?”

Lu Chao’s voice and the descending Blood Sword had, of course, drawn the attention of everyone in the Su Mansion. They all looked up sharply, demanding to know who was there.

Immediately after, the crowd saw Lu Chao become a black shadow and leap down from the Flying Feather Black Eagle.

In the blink of an eye, he was at Cheng Yunsu’s side.

He ignored the Flaming Giant Sparrow surrounding her, passing straight through it as if he were being set ablaze to take her in his arms.

And the moment he held her... WHOOSH!

The Flaming Giant Sparrow surrounding Cheng Yunsu vanished.

It was as if it had dissipated in an instant, as if Lu Chao’s arrival triggered an instinct not to harm her husband...

She, too, seemed to snap back to her senses only then. Looking at her husband, she said, ”Lu Chao, you’re here.”

Cheng Yunsu’s voice was a mixture of weakness and delighted surprise.

”Don’t talk. Let me see your wound,” Lu Chao said, his voice trembling slightly.

The dagger had been thrust through her back, piercing straight through her heart and out her chest.

The usually cool and composed Lu Chao was at a loss...

His voice trembled. He was terrified, afraid that Cheng Yunsu would be taken from him in the very next moment.

However, Cheng Yunsu just shook her head gently...

”I’m fine. I’m not hurt at all.”

”In fact, that dagger strike from Wu Yiyi just now helped me complete the first Chapter of the Fire Phoenix Technique. And even though the dagger pierced my heart... it’s strange, I didn’t feel much pain.”

”I just feel the blood in my heart constantly regenerating, just like what happened to you.”

As she spoke, the hoarseness and weakness in Cheng Yunsu’s voice faded, replaced by growing strength.

Suddenly... SQUELCH!

The dagger was pushed out of Cheng Yunsu’s body, bit by bit, until it fell to the ground behind her with a CLANG.

Seeing this, the tension finally drained from Lu Chao’s body.

Then, a sense of disbelief washed over him. ’Xiao Su’er said she barely felt the dagger that pierced her?’

’That’s it. The Fire Phoenix Technique must be the cultivation technique the Fire Phoenix Divine Emperor left for Xiao Su’er.’

’The Fire Phoenix Divine Emperor was able to resurrect me even after my body was shattered to pieces. Her power and cultivation technique must be related to the regeneration of flesh and blood.’

’When Xiao Su’er made the Fire Sparrow Bracelet truly acknowledge her as its master, her bloodline and Heavenly Destiny Bone were completely transformed. Now that she has completed the first Chapter of her cultivation, does that mean her internal state has finally stabilized?’

As these thoughts raced through his mind, Lu Chao began to examine Cheng Yunsu’s condition...

’She’s already entered the True Fate Realm.’

’But she’s still in the process of breaking through. Xiao Su’er’s Star Fire Sparrow Bone has completely fused with her body and transformed into a Moon Mortal Bone.’

’Xiao Su’er’s wound has healed.’

As his examination continued, Lu Chao was finally able to put his heart at ease.

Just then, a vicious voice rang out. ”Lu Chao, you little bastard...”

That was Shen Ji’s voice, followed immediately by Vice Commander Liu’s. ”Lu Chao, disciple of the Azure Flame Sect. You’ve finally arrived. This woman of yours seems quite remarkable. It appears our Young City Lord had good reason to take an interest in her.”

His voice grew composed; Vice Commander Liu no longer showed any of his earlier shock and nervousness.

As far as he was concerned, Lu Chao’s arrival was a good thing.

As for Cheng Yunsu, he was of course curious. Why hadn’t she died after being stabbed through the heart? And what was that Flaming Giant Sparrow from before?

And now, why did she seem so ordinary again?

Of course, Vice Commander Liu had no idea that Cheng Yunsu had just completed the first Chapter of the Fire Phoenix Technique. This, combined with being stabbed through the heart, had pushed her into her most powerful, albeit unstable, state.

Now that her wound was healed, her aura had stabilized and was advancing steadily.

Meanwhile, a relieved Lu Chao ignored everyone around him. He first shattered the ropes binding Cheng Yunsu, then helped her sit up comfortably.

Only after he was done did he slowly turn to face the scene before him.

His eyes immediately fell upon the wretched state of his father-in-law, Cheng Chuming, before sweeping across the rest of the crowd. The scene was more or less as he had expected... clearly, Chi Xingxun and Commander Ke were not present.

Just then, Cheng Yunsu spoke softly from behind him.

”Lu Chao, Young City Lord Red Sword left the Azure Flame Sect not long ago. This Vice Commander Liu just received a letter from their Young City Lord...”

She spoke in a low voice, briefly explaining what had just happened to Lu Chao.

Hearing this, a sharp glint flashed in Lu Chao’s eyes...

Meanwhile, Vice Commander Liu was in no hurry. He simply allowed Cheng Yunsu to explain the situation to Lu Chao.

Once Cheng Yunsu finished speaking...

Vice Commander Liu smiled and added, ”Disciple of the Azure Flame Sect, congratulations. Your wife is to become our Young City Lord’s concubine.”
