Divine Emperor of Heavenly Destiny

It was also because he had received a message from Lu Chao that the Dragon Flame King knew long ago Nan Zhuiming would come to assassinate him.

The Dragon Flame King was severely lacking in combat experience, so he could only rely on his higher realm to intimidate Nan Zhuiming. However, Lu Chao had done more than just send a message. He had also provided him with the Azure Flame Sect’s secret manuals, Martial Techniques, and Azure Flame Bone-Refining Pills.

These items, according to Lu Chao’s letter, were found in the space behind the seventh level of the Azure Flame Forbidden Land.

In other words, they were the contents of the six Storage Rings.

The Dragon Flame King thought to himself, ’Lu Chao hasn’t arrived at the Dragon Flame Royal Capital yet. Can he stop Nan Zhuiming?’

That was right. The person he’d mentioned who could deal with Nan Zhuiming was, in fact, Lu Chao.

In his message, Lu Chao had said that if he could arrive in time, they would ambush and kill Nan Zhuiming within the Dragon Flame Palace. The two of them, martial uncle and nephew, would join forces to slay Nan Zhuiming inside the palace.

If he couldn’t arrive in time, then he would see if he could intercept Nan Zhuiming.

At this thought, the Dragon Flame King boomed his order, ”Someone, send word to all the Flying Bird Knights in the Royal Capital! I want you to use every means necessary to monitor Nan Zhuiming’s escape route. Remember, do not engage him.”

”At the same time, relay my orders throughout the city! Have all the Flying Bird Demon Beasts take flight...”

”Whether driven or forced, they must all take to the skies. Do not give Nan Zhuiming any opportunity to fly out of the Dragon Flame Royal Capital.”

Marquis Longyin gravely accepted the order and departed. He led his men, mounted their Flying Bird Demon Beasts, and charged out of the Imperial Palace Hall.

The Dragon Flame King sat back down and said, ”Let us continue our discussion.”

The Six Great Flame Kings exchanged glances, as did all the other core figures of the Dragon Flame Kingdom. The Dragon Flame King had just given them a massive shock. Not only was he a terrifying master who had hidden his strength for years, but he also seemed to know Nan Zhuiming’s every move.

’Could it be that the Dragon Flame Kingdom truly has the power to contend with the legendary Cyan Sword Great Empire?’

...

Outside the Dragon Flame Royal Capital, a Flying Bird Demon Beast was approaching the city.

Lu Chao was seated cross-legged on the back of this Flying Bird Demon Beast. He spoke softly, ”Xiao Su’er, we’ve arrived at the Dragon Flame Royal Capital.”

As he spoke, he looked at Cheng Yunsu, who was sitting beside him, leaning against him.

Six or seven days had passed since they left the Azure Flame Sect for the Dragon Flame Royal Capital. Cheng Yunsu had woken up yesterday, and now, she seemed like a completely different person.

Or rather, her entire aura had changed completely.

She faintly exuded a mysterious and unfathomable feeling, vast and hazy, impossible to see through. At times she seemed like a divine Saintess who had descended to the mortal world; at others, she was just an ordinary young woman.

It was very strange...

”I wonder if Nan Zhuiming has made his move yet.”

Cheng Yunsu’s voice was slightly weak. She had already learned from Lu Chao what had happened after she fell unconscious.

The moment the words left her mouth, the color drained from Cheng Yunsu’s face. ”It’s happening again...”

As she spoke, she quickly leaped high off the back of the Flying Bird Demon Beast. Then, with a BOOM, a terrifying aura of Fire Sparrow Bone True Qi erupted from her body.

It instantly frightened their Flying Bird Demon Beast, which began to screech and tremble all over.

If Lu Chao hadn’t been sitting on its back, the beast would have been scared into fainting.

Because the aura emanating from Cheng Yunsu was incredibly powerful. Her True Qi Realm was definitely Above the Creation realm. At the same time, the aura of her Heavenly Destiny Bone was also terrifying. To Lu Chao, at least, it had already surpassed Chi Xingxun’s Moon-level Earth Bone.

In other words, it was at least a Moon-level Heavenly Bone.

But just a few breaths later...

The powerful aura around Cheng Yunsu immediately receded. Her realm dropped from Above the Creation back to the Creation Realm, then to the Peak Realm, then to the True Fate Realm, and finally settled back at the Transformation Realm before stopping.

The aura of her Fire Sparrow Bone did the same...

It retreated step by step from above a Moon-level Earth Bone, surprisingly stopping at a Star-level Heavenly Bone.

Once it stopped, Lu Chao quickly used his Beast Control to catch Cheng Yunsu.

As she landed beside Lu Chao, Cheng Yunsu gave a bitter smile. ”I don’t know how long this state will last before it stabilizes.”

That was right. In the single day since Cheng Yunsu had woken up, this was the third time this had happened.

Her realm and the grade of her Fire Sparrow Bone were extremely unstable.

Just like her aura, it was unpredictable—at times, she was terrifyingly powerful, and at others, she returned to her most normal state.

Even Cheng Yunsu herself couldn’t control it.

Lu Chao had also grown up in the Azure Flame Domain and had no understanding of this situation; he had never encountered anything so bizarre.

For now, he had no idea how to solve it, or even how to explain Cheng Yunsu’s unpredictable changes. He could only comfort her gently, ”Once you’ve fully cultivated the Cultivation Technique inside the Fire Sparrow Bracelet, it will definitely stabilize.”

That was right...

After the Fire Sparrow Bracelet acknowledged Cheng Yunsu as its master, aside from transforming her bloodline and Star Fire Sparrow Bone, a Cultivation Technique called the Fire Phoenix Technique had appeared, corresponding to the will of the former Fire Phoenix Divine Emperor.

He didn’t know if it had been left behind by the Fire Phoenix Divine Emperor.

Other than that, there was nothing else.

Inside the Fire Sparrow Bracelet was just an empty space, as if the bracelet were merely a storage bracelet and nothing more.

And the Fire Phoenix Technique had appeared directly in Cheng Yunsu’s mind.

Sitting back down, Cheng Yunsu said with a hint of melancholy, ”Unfortunately, there are still no clues about my mother.”

What she wanted most were clues about her mother, Xue Hongying, but even after the Fire Sparrow Bracelet acknowledged her, there was nothing.

This made Cheng Yunsu very sad, disappointed, and helpless.

In response, Lu Chao could only gently take her hand and offer a few more words of comfort.

Suddenly, Cheng Yunsu’s face brightened into a smile, and she reminded him, ”Oh right, Lu Chao, you haven’t played your flute today.”

Lu Chao paused for a moment, then immediately took out the Biyin Bone Flute and began to play...

In the six or seven days it had taken to travel from the Azure Flame Sect, Lu Chao had played the Bone Flute once every day. He still didn’t know if it would have any effect, but he insisted on trying.

And so, the melodious sound of the flute rang out just outside the Dragon Flame Royal Capital.

They drew closer and closer to the Dragon Flame Royal Capital. But at the exact moment they were about to fly into the city, the flute music abruptly stopped.

Lu Chao suddenly looked toward the Dragon Flame Royal Capital and said in a low voice, ”Creation Realm.”

The next instant... WHOOSH!

A figure shot up onto the walls of the Dragon Flame Royal Capital. It was Nan Zhuiming.

His hair and beard whipped about wildly as he said viciously, ”What a Dragon Flame King! He actually ordered the entire city to force all the Flying Bird Demon Beasts into the sky. He’s trying to trap me so I can’t fly out of the Dragon Flame Royal Capital, planning to hunt me down himself.”

As he said this, he abruptly raised his head and looked outside the Royal Capital at the approaching Flying Bird Demon Beast.

Nan Zhuiming let out a string of sinister laughs. ”But the Dragon Flame Royal Capital is so big. How could there not be a few that slipped through the net? This Flying Bird Demon Beast right here is just about to enter the capital, flying at a low altitude... In that case, I won’t be polite.”

As his voice fell, Nan Zhuiming could already see that the Flying Bird Demon Beast had drawn near.
