Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2590: Chapter 2590: Money Down the Drain

The matter is not yet complete. Why is he going to see Prince Zhan and Prince An Yang? Being a strategic advisor for so long, he knows when a task can be considered finished.

”That will do.”

Sheng Qingyu nodded.

”Advisor, what price did you quote for Steward Hao?” he asked.

He knew that the grain being sold outside previously was at fifty copper coins per jin, which was already a sky-high price. Of course, most of the people buying the grain were merchants arranged by him.

It was agreed that any additional money from the sale would be returned to them and the grain would belong to them to buy as much as they wanted.

Upon hearing this, Master Ji extended his index finger toward Sheng Qingyu, who widened his eyes.

”One hundred copper coins? You really are something.”

Could Steward Hao accept grain at one hundred copper coins per jin?

”Didn’t he negotiate? He can’t possibly handle one hundred copper coins, can he? I’ve received word that when they purchase grain in other prefectures, they buy it at regular prices, just slightly higher than regular prices.”

The key point is that they offered a higher price than the authorities’ purchase price, so the people with surplus grain are willing to sell to them.

”I didn’t give Steward Hao a chance to refuse. After quoting one hundred copper coins, I just left; he shouldn’t be unwilling to take it,” Master Ji said.

Even at one hundred copper coins per jin, when Steward Hao and his people sell the grain later, they can still raise the price, making a sure profit.

”But, Mr. Sheng, is this really feasible? Selling so much grain to those people means the common folk will have to buy expensive grain.”

He was worried about the common folk. Despite the grain being one hundred copper coins per jin, it’s still a bargain for those people.

”Not at all. Prince An Yang being able to provide so much grain proves they surely have even more. There’s no need to worry about the grain that’s being sold,” Sheng Qingyu shook his head, not feeling that selling grain to Steward Hao and his people was a loss.

Perhaps by then, it might end up causing a huge loss for Steward Hao and those behind him. Think about it, if by then the Northern Lands can all access regular-priced grain, while the people behind Steward Hao still have a lot of high-priced grain, should they sell it or not?

If they sell it, they might incur an unknown amount of loss.

But if they don’t sell it, then it’s a lost cause, and the money would be completely wasted.

”Handle this matter carefully, do not let the people under Steward Hao notice anything suspicious.”

”I understand.”

Master Ji nodded, fully aware of the crucial aspects within. How could he let Steward Hao’s people find out?

Even within the Government Office, besides Mr. Sheng, he wouldn’t let anyone else know. Who knows if there are spies sent by Steward Hao within the Government Office?

It’s normal for someone with connections to the Governor to place a few spies in the Government Office.

”There seems to be an issue with the well in the north of the city. I’ll go take a look,” he said before heading out.

He couldn’t neglect other duties just because of the grain sale. If so, the people sent by Steward Hao to keep watch would become even more suspicious.

...

While Master Ji was heading to the north of the city, An Jiuyue was within Qian Jiyun’s space.

”Can it really be tested?”

At this moment, she held two talismans in her hands: one Lightning Summoning Charm and one Rain Gathering Charm. She was still uncertain whether to use them or not.
