Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2479: Chapter 2479: I’m Afraid That’s Not Possible

...

Not long after, the Chief entered An Que’s house.

By this time, An Que had already taken out all the documents from when he initially registered the land, and to make it easier for the Chief to handle the matter at the county government, he also wrote a note as proof that he personally instructed the Chief to do it and stamped it with his private seal.

He did all this with consideration for the purpose of this action, which was for his future prospects.

With this proof, even if the issue of registering land under the villagers’ names were to be uncovered in the future, he could claim it was out of righteousness that he first addressed it, rather than being forced by the villagers.

This way, the county government wouldn’t be able to find fault with him, allowing him some peace of mind.

”Scholar An, you’ve really prepared everything.” The Chief was more surprised upon seeing the things handed over.

What on earth could have happened that made An Que so eager to return all the land under his name, and why were the people from An Que’s family, especially his Grandmother, not making a fuss?

The old lady from the An family certainly wanted to wail, watching all the food they were entitled to each year go up in smoke. How could she not be heartbroken?

But despite the heartache, her beloved grandson’s future was more important. As long as her grandson had a limitless future, why worry about not making more money later?

She had heard people in town say that in just three years a clean magistrate could earn a hundred thousand silver ingots!

So now the old lady was in her room secretly cursing Mr. Shi at the county government for being incompetent and dared not come out to stop her grandson.

”Yes, I owe this favor to the Chief. I hope to return these lands to the respective uncles as soon as possible,” An Que said courteously as he handed over the items to the Chief.

Upon hearing this, the Chief raised his eyebrows.

Since when did Scholar An become so courteous to him? Particularly, An Que even referred to everyone as ’uncles,’ which was something that never happened before.

Of course, before passing the scholar exams, An Que used to address them as uncles all too familiarly. But since becoming a Scholar, he no longer exhibited the same courteous demeanor.

”Alright, leave this matter to me.”

The Chief took the things into his hands, thinking he would head to the county government today, surely able to settle it soon.

”However, Scholar An, dealing with affairs at the county government is uncertain. I can only promise you that it’ll be done within three days. If it’s too rushed, it might not be feasible.”

Noticing An Que’s urgency, he reminded him as such and thought of enquiring about what had exactly transpired when he got to the county government.

Although he had no connections at the county government, being a person from An Clan Village, he might be able to find out something using the name of Prince An Yang.

Thinking of An Jiuyue, he couldn’t help but glance at An Que before him.

This fellow with delusions of grandeur wanted to pursue An Jiuyue’s, perhaps An Jiuyue who just returned, had heard this news?

If she did hear about it, would it...

He couldn’t help but suspect that An Que was in such a hurry to return the land because An Jiuyue had done something. Otherwise, why hadn’t other village Scholars done the same? This matter just didn’t make sense.
