Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 792: Chapter 835: A Woman

After that time, she realized that every time the uncle held her to sleep, he would sneak into the study to work!

That’s why it’s been so long since the uncle came back this late!

Mu Beiting smiled and comforted, ”Don’t worry, as a grown man, nothing will happen to me! I’ll be busy for the next few days and will come back late at night, so you don’t have to wait for me! Once things are settled, it will be just like before!”

Hearing this, Ye Anxin’s face fell, ”How many more days will it be?”

”Hmm! Since Pete is taking a week’s vacation soon, I need to finish all his tasks in these days! There’s quite a lot to do, so it’ll take a few days! You don’t need to worry, once it’s done, I’ll be back every day to have dinner with you!” For the first time in his thirty-odd years, Mu Beiting told a lie.

Ye Anxin widened her eyes and curiously asked, ”Is big brother Pete really on vacation?”

Mu Beiting nodded, ”Yes! He’s been with me for over ten years without a break! So, I’m giving him a week off this time, so he can spend quality time with his family!”

”Oh! So that’s it! I understand!” Hearing Mu Beiting’s explanation, Ye Anxin finally relaxed!

Ye Anxin knew Peter’s importance to the uncle, without Pete, the uncle wouldn’t be so comfortable! So, once Pete went on vacation, the uncle would definitely be very busy!

After drying his hair, Mu Beiting casually tossed the towel onto the chair by the bed, took off the bath towel on his body, turned over onto the bed, embraced Ye Anxin in his arms, gently kissed her forehead, and softly said, ”Sleep!”

”Hmm!” With Mu Beiting’s familiar embrace, scent, and body temperature, Ye Anxin quickly fell asleep with her eyes closed!

.........

The next day, due to staying up too late, Ye Anxin also woke up later than usual!

When she woke up, Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai had already had breakfast and left! Little Chu Yi was being held by the nanny, sunbathing in the garden!

Just as Ye Anxin finished her breakfast, her phone started ringing like crazy.

Once the call connected, before Ye Anxin could say anything, Ling Yueyue on the other end began to babble, ”Oh you, Ye Anxin, you didn’t agree to come out for dinner last night. I thought it was for little Chu Yi! Turns out, you had a date with your uncle! How dare you lie to me, do you still consider me a friend?”

Ye Anxin was confused and bewildered, ”What are you talking about? I was at home all evening yesterday and didn’t go out, when did I have a date with uncle?”

Ling Yueyue insisted, ”You still won’t admit it! I saw it with my own eyes yesterday, I’m not nearsighted, and I don’t have presbyopia, how could I be wrong? I clearly saw you with Mu Beiting!”

Upon listening to Ling Yueyue, and recalling Mu Beiting’s late return last night, a foreboding feeling suddenly arose in Ye Anxin’s heart.

Seeing Ye Anxin remain silent for a long time, Ling Yueyue triumphantly said, ”Hey, why aren’t you speaking? Were you so stunned by my words that you can’t reply?”

Ye Anxin, with a pale face, asked, ”What time did you see me with uncle last night?”

”It was around six o’clock in the evening! I invited you out for dinner yesterday, but you didn’t want to, so I went to find Mr. Huo. When passing by a restaurant, I clearly saw you and your uncle sitting by the glass on the second floor! Even though you were turned around looking away, I couldn’t see your face! But your figure, your fashion sense, and your hair, it was unmistakably you, I wouldn’t mistake it!” The more Ling Yueyue spoke, the colder Ye Anxin’s heart became!

Could it be that uncle didn’t go out for a social event last night but went on a date with the woman Yueyue mentioned?

But, it can’t be! During this time, uncle has been so good, showing no odd behavior! How could a woman suddenly appear out of nowhere?

If someone else told her this, she would definitely not believe it! But since it was said by Yueyue, and in such a manner, she had no choice but to believe that what Yueyue said was true!

Seeing Ye Anxin not speaking, and thinking it’s because she was caught red-handed and didn’t know how to refute, Ling Yueyue continued smugly, ”I was about to call you and scold you harshly when I saw you! But Mr. Huo stopped me! He said not to spoil your romantic atmosphere! Otherwise, I would have called last night, why wait till now!”

”Haha, yes! I meant to hide it from you, but you caught me!” Ye Anxin forced a smile! At this moment, only she knew how much it hurt inside!

She was not heartbroken because Mu Beiting was with another woman, but because of the uncle’s odd behavior that afternoon, the phone being off that night, and not a word about the evening after coming back, only saying he was socializing, busy!

No...!

Ye Anxin shook her head vigorously, repeatedly telling herself, there must be a misunderstanding! There definitely is a misunderstanding!

After experiencing so much together, if she still doubts uncle’s love for her, then she is too foolish and unworthy of his love!

Maybe, last night was really just work-related, and that woman just happened to be a business partner!

She and uncle had been through so much, their relationship was something that others couldn’t understand or replace! So, she must trust uncle, never letting her mind wander regardless of the situation!

Ling Yueyue did not continue the previous topic, changing the subject, ”Alright, no more nonsense, I’m already dressed and ready to go out! When are you heading out?”

Ye Anxin vigorously shook her head, gathered her thoughts, and forced herself to be calm, ”I’m about to change clothes and leave now! You go to the usual place first and wait for me! After I change clothes, I’ll bring Chu Yi to find you!”

”Okay! See you at the usual place, won’t leave until we meet!” Saying this, Ling Yueyue hung up the phone first!

After Ling Yueyue hung up, Ye Anxin absentmindedly stared at the phone book, found Mu Beiting’s number, looked at the word ”Uncle” on it, hesitated for a while, and eventually couldn’t help but dial it!

This time, the call was answered quickly, almost immediately, Mu Beiting answered, and from the phone came Mu Beiting’s usual deep and charismatic voice, ”Hello!”

Ye Anxin licked her lips and couldn’t help asking, ”Uncle, are you busy right now?”

Mu Beiting raised an eyebrow, ”A bit! What’s wrong? Why the sudden call? Miss me?”

Ye Anxin forced a smile, ”Hmm! I didn’t see you when I woke up this morning, so I missed you, and just wanted to give you a call to check in!”
