Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 775: Chapter 818: A Leopard Cannot Change Its Spots

Mu Beiting ignored it, continuing to lower his head in deep thought.

Seeing Mu Beiting’s attitude of not wanting to deal with him, Pete felt awkward, touched his nose, turned around, and silently prepared to leave!

However, just as his hand touched the doorknob, Mu Beiting, who was still in a daze earlier, suddenly stood up from his chair like a gust of wind, rushed to the door, swiftly pushed Pete who was blocking the way, and left without looking back!

Watching Mu Beiting leave on the elevator, Pete was dumbfounded! It took him a long time to react!

When had his usually calm and composed boss ever rushed like this! What was he going to do? Why so anxious?

Mu Beiting got on the elevator, went straight to the underground parking lot, didn’t notify the driver, got into his business car, and drove away!

Mu Beiting, driving, did not go home but headed straight to the city center! After about half an hour, he stopped in the underground garage of a commercial building!

After getting out of the car, Mu Beiting took the elevator directly to the third floor of the commercial building!

The third floor was the jewelry specialty floor, and once Mu Beiting went upstairs, he directly entered a famous jewelry brand store!

After entering, he did not directly look for a salesperson but looked carefully at the counters on his own.

The salesperson in the store had sized him up from head to toe as soon as Mu Beiting entered, then walked up to him with a sweet smile, politely and respectfully saying, ”Sir, do you need anything? I can show you some of our best-selling styles!”

Mu Beiting ignored her, lowering his head and looking from outside to inside along the counter!

Seeing that Mu Beiting was ignoring her, the smile on the counter lady’s face froze, but she didn’t say anything and followed him wherever he looked.

Unfortunately, Mu Beiting looked around the entire store and found nothing satisfactory!

Finding nothing satisfactory, Mu Beiting went directly to another store to look!

No matter which store he went to, Mu Beiting was very meticulous and careful in his examination! But still, nothing satisfied him!

He felt that those rings were all too ordinary, showing nothing special, so he didn’t like them. He thought those rings were not worthy of Ye Anxin’s gentle temperament.

To choose a good and suitable ring for Ye Anxin, Mu Beiting not only visited this commercial building but spent an entire afternoon almost going through the jewelry floors of half of the commercial buildings in Jin City, yet there was nothing satisfactory.

An entire afternoon yielded nothing!

After finishing the jewelry mall tour, it was already afternoon, so he drove straight to pick up Xiao Bai after school and went home with Xiao Bai!

After returning home, he called Pete to have him bring tomorrow’s video conference materials from the company to the villa!

After having dinner with Ye Anxin and Xiao Bai, and playing with little Chu Yi for a while, Mu Beiting went to the study to work.

As Mu Beiting worked, Ye Anxin did not disturb him, instead playing with little Chu Yi and Xiao Bai for a while, then letting Xiao Bai take a bath and sleep! She then went to the room with little Chu Yi to play!

Since little Chu Yi was still young, less than two months old, and with the weather warming up, little Chu Yi wasn’t wearing much; Ye Anxin placed her on the bed and sat talking to her and entertaining her!

Just then, Ye Anxin’s phone on the bedside table rang.

Ye Anxin picked up the phone, glanced at the caller ID, saw it was her mother calling, picked up little Chu Yi from the bed, opened the door, handed little Chu Yi to the nanny, then returned to the room.

When she returned to the room, the phone had already stopped ringing!

Ye Anxin picked up the phone, pressed the missed call, and dialed back her mother!

It seemed Ye’s mother was waiting by the phone; as soon as Ye Anxin’s call went through, it was answered before half a ring!

Ye Anxin puzzledly asked, ”Hello, Mom, did you call me just now for something?”

”Anxin... I...!” On the other end of the phone, Ye’s mother hesitated, stammering, and seemed to want to speak but didn’t know how to begin.

Seeing Ye’s mother hesitating, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but say, ”Mom, what exactly is it? Just say whatever it is directly!”

After hesitating for a while, Ye’s mother reluctantly said, ”Anxin, I... I want to move... I want to change places, I don’t want to stay here anymore!”

Ye Anxin asked puzzledly, ”Why? Isn’t it perfectly fine there?”

”It’s... it’s your dad... no... he’s not your dad now, he’s Ye Shan... he stays at the door every day like a sticky candy, can’t shake him off! I’m so annoyed, so I want to move!” Ye’s mother spoke with a voice full of tiredness and helplessness.

If it weren’t for the fact that this house was bought by her daughter and son-in-law for her to retire in, she would have found another place and moved herself! If she suddenly moved without telling her daughter, she was afraid her daughter would worry! Therefore, after much deliberation, she called her daughter.

Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin frowned, puzzled, ”Ye Shan... how does he know where you live? Besides, isn’t there security outside? How did he get in?”

”I don’t know either! At Chu Yi’s full moon celebration, I sternly warned him not to pester us, not to disturb our lives! Then for half a month, he had no news, and I thought he had given up! Unexpectedly, half a month later, he suddenly showed up, even bought me a gold necklace, claiming it’s money he earned working odd jobs on a construction site these past two weeks! I didn’t accept it and tried to drive him away, but he refused to leave! I was so angry at the time that I casually said he should show me sincerity! Since then, he’s been camping outside. When I go out, he follows behind being overly polite, and when it rains, he actively holds an umbrella for me! When I get home, he waits outside again! I’ve hit him, cursed him, said all kinds of harsh words, but he just won’t leave! He even said he would wait until I forgive him! So, I want to move, I don’t want to see him...” In fact, after saying so much, Ye’s mother didn’t dare to tell her daughter the truth!

The reason she was so eager to move was not because she felt completely annoyed but because she feared her own heart might soften!

Sometimes, seeing Ye Shan sleep at the door, curled up from the cold, her resolve starts to waver!

She’s worried that if it continues like this, she really will soften and forgive him!

She understands herself and also understands Ye Shan! She knows she’s always been soft-hearted, and she doesn’t believe Ye Shan will change despite his stubbornness and unchanged nature over the past two decades, not in the short span of six months!
