High Martial Arts: Grinding for the Supreme Talent

Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Points Skyrocketing

Next, Lin Qi pressed the yellow button, scrolled the projected Points Chart to the very bottom, and tapped on the map.

A map of Ruins Town was projected, divided into two areas: Area 1 and Area 2. His own position was marked with a red dot.

The safe supply points were marked with blue dots.

’Area 2 it is. There are Second-Level and Third-Level Calamity Beasts there.’

’Killing them is the most efficient way to earn Points.’

With that thought, Lin Qi moved, darting out like a nimble cheetah and heading toward Area 2.

High in the sky behind him, a green metallic sphere followed his every move.

...

「A few minutes later」

Inside a shattered building overgrown with dark green vines, the walls were covered in cracks.

”HRR... HRR...”

BANG!!

A massive, powerful figure, like a speeding car, was jet-black all over. The single horn on its head was like a sharp blade, glinting coldly in the sunlight.

”HURR HURR~”

When Lin Qi saw the familiar Unihorned Black Pig, the corner of his mouth lifted. ’You again.’

Without another word, he brandished his Long Spear and began to gather his Power.

Over two months ago, he had fought at Wanda Plaza and killed two Unihorned Black Pigs in a row.

Now he was facing one again, but his strength had already undergone a world-shaking transformation.

”HURR... HURR...”

The Unihorned Black Pig’s thick iron hooves stomped the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. It charged like an armored vehicle, the sharp horn on its head looking as if it could pierce through anything.

Lin Qi’s deep eyes watched its every move. When it was less than a meter away, he dodged to the side and thrust his Long Spear out violently.

WHOOSH—

The sharp tip of the spear trembled. It cut through the air, pierced the Unihorned Black Pig’s eye socket, and stabbed into its brain. He blasted his Power outward, instantly shattering the beast’s mind.

He withdrew the Long Spear in the same instant. The entire sequence was a single fluid motion, with no wasted movement.

Blood sprayed wildly. The Unihorned Black Pig’s body continued forward from its momentum, slamming heavily into a dilapidated wall. It was crushed by falling debris and collapsed, shaking the ground and kicking up more dust.

Blood flowed out with the rubble. Its limbs twitched a few times, then went still.

Unihorned Black Pig killed. Points +10.

Lin Qi shouldered his Black Great Spear, a satisfied smile on his face.

The once-mighty Unihorned Black Pig, which had put him under immense pressure, was now a completely different story.

’Did it get weaker?’

’No, I got stronger!’

Lin Qi felt that the creature’s speed seemed slower to his eyes. A single thrust of his spear was now enough to kill it!

”HURR... HURR...”

At the same time, roars came from all directions. Three black shadows suddenly shot out from the crumbling ruins, surrounding Lin Qi from different positions.

All three Calamity Beasts were Second-Level Calamity Beasts.

’The Unihorned Black Pig is a pack animal. Just as I thought. Three of them... perfect timing.’

SWOOSH—

Lin Qi wasted no time. He immediately brandished his Black Great Spear and charged forward. His muscles bulged as endless Power surged from his body.

”HURR... HURR...”

The three Unihorned Black Pigs charged simultaneously, leaping into the air. They aimed their black, spear-like horns forward.

WHOOSH—

SCHLICK—

The Great Spear in Lin Qi’s hand shot out with explosive force, swift and fierce like an arrow loosed from a bow, letting out a piercing whistle as it cut through the wind.

Mountain Splitting Spear Technique—Wind-Breaking Thrust!

CLANG—

SQUELCH—

In an instant, a horn collided violently with the Great Spear. In that same instant, the sharp tip of the spear pierced into the Unihorned Black Pig’s mouth.

It ran straight through and burst out its back, sending blood spraying like a fountain.

BAM! BAM!

Lin Qi swung his spear hard. His Mountain-Splitting Power erupted, sending the Unihorned Black Pig’s corpse flying. It collided with another Unihorned Black Pig mid-air, and both crashed to the ground.

Lin Qi landed and spun around, twisting his waist and hips. He swung his Long Spear in a half-moon arc, letting his Power flow through it, then violently flicked the spear upward.

He lashed out at the Unihorned Black Pig that was pouncing from behind, its sharp teeth bared.

BAM!!

CRACK!!

The Black Great Spear viciously struck the Unihorned Black Pig’s jaw. The 50-kilogram Great Spear was backed by Lin Qi’s Fist Power, which exceeded two thousand kilograms.

The ferocious force instantly shattered its skull. Its sharp teeth broke, and blood burst forth.

Its body flew backward and crashed heavily onto the ground.

SQUELCH—

Lin Qi stepped forward and thrust his spear at its neck, delivering the final blow.

He then sank his stance and shot his Long Spear forward with explosive speed. It was as fast as Lightning, whistling through the air.

Reversing Spear!

SQUELCH—

The Unihorned Black Pig behind him was pierced through the neck and left dangling on the Long Spear.

Less than 30 seconds. Three Unihorned Black Pigs killed. Points +30.

BAM!!

Lin Qi flung the corpse to the ground. The thick stench of blood and filth filled the air.

”ROAR—”

A few more barks rang out, the sound mixed with something like a tiger’s roar.

Lin Qi sensed danger as several powerful figures leaped out from different buildings.

A deep, heavy growl emanated from their mouths.

Taking a closer look, he saw they were imposing Calamity Beasts, as large and sturdy as adult tigers. Their muscles were taut and well-developed, and their fur had yellow, tiger-like stripes.

They had broad, thick heads and gaping maws that revealed fangs glinting with a cold light.

Their aura was wild, their gazes sharp and vicious.

Second-Level Calamity Beast—Fierce Tiger Dog!

They were extremely powerful among Second-Level Calamity Beasts, possessing unparalleled physical attributes and a ferocious, death-defying fighting style. They were even stronger than the Unihorned Black Pigs.

These creatures stood at the apex of Second-Level Calamity Beasts. Each one was difficult to handle.

Let alone five of them acting at once.

Lin Qi’s gaze swept around quickly. The five Fierce Tiger Dogs had surrounded him completely, leaving no room for escape.

’Area 2 really lives up to its name. Second-Level Calamity Beasts everywhere!’

’They really don’t give me a chance to rest!’

’But this is great!’

’They’re all just here to deliver Points to me!’

Lin Qi’s gaze sharpened. A terrifying aura erupted from him, as if a Tiger King had Awakened.

The aura spread out like a tidal wave.

The five Fierce Tiger Dogs were momentarily stunned by Lin Qi’s aura, but their superior numbers emboldened them to attack immediately.

”ROAR—”

The five-on-one battle had officially begun!

...

In the backstage conference room, the baby-faced girl from Azure Sky Martial Arts Academy was watching several monitor feeds at once.

She was also constantly taking notes.

Suddenly, her gaze fell upon Lin Qi, and her eyes widened.

”Are those Fierce Tiger Dogs? Five of them!”

”Isn’t Lin Qi in danger?”

Her expression grew tense. Fierce Tiger Dogs were Top Level among Second-Level Calamity Beasts, and this was a siege by five of them.

’Please don’t let anything happen to him!’

...

BAM—

A Golden Light seemed to flash in Lin Qi’s eyes. Mountain-Splitting Power flowed through his body, and terrifying Power was channeled into the tip of his spear.

He extended his body, raised his Great Spear high, and brought it smashing down like a collapsing mountain onto the Fierce Tiger Dog that was right in front of him, its gaping maw wide open.

BAM!!

”ROAR—”

BOOM!!

The Fierce Tiger Dog’s head instantly caved in. It felt a sharp pain in its skull, accompanied by the sound of shattering bone.

The terrifying force had crushed its skull, and the Power tore its brain apart.

Its entire head was nearly embedded in its body as its massive form slammed heavily onto the ground.

The concrete pavement, unable to bear the weight, cracked further, sending up clouds of dust.

Blood splattered onto Lin Qi’s Combat Suit. He retracted his spear, his entire being steeped in the thick stench of blood and killing intent.

He scanned his surroundings. The ground was littered with corpses. In the distance, only one Fierce Tiger Dog remained standing.

The ground was soaked in blood. Four Fierce Tiger Dogs were already dead, their blood still warm.

”ROAR—”

The last Fierce Tiger Dog sensed Lin Qi’s terrifying aura and was overcome with fear. It turned to run.

SWOOSH—

In the next second, Lin Qi vanished like a bolt of Lightning. The Black Great Spear in his hand shot out with a boom.

WHOOSH—

HISS—

The Long Spear cut through the sky, thrusting out like Lightning, Tearing through the air with a sharp whistle.

SQUELCH—

The sharp spear tip flashed with a cold light. The Fierce Tiger Dog’s neck was pierced by the Long Spear, and fresh red blood gushed out.

BAM!!

Its body skidded several meters across the ground before coming to a stop.

With that, all five Fierce Tiger Dogs were dead!

Points +50.

Points Chart Ranking: [15] → [8]

...

Lin Qi pulled his Long Spear from the Fierce Tiger Dog’s body and opened the Points Chart. His expression remained calm as he saw he had risen to 8th place.

He had killed nine Second-Level Calamity Beasts in one go, raising his Points by 90 and climbing to 8th place.

’It’s not enough. I need to hunt more Second-Level Calamity Beasts!’

’This is just the beginning!’ Lin Qi waited on the spot.

He knew that the thick stench of blood would attract more Calamity Beasts.

...

In the large conference room, the eyes of the girl from the Azure Sky Martial Arts Academy observation team sparkled as she watched Lin Qi’s back. ’He’s so strong.’

”Dean, look!”

she said to the dean, showing the clip from the live feed to Dean Big Ear.

After watching it, Dean Big Ear’s Spirit seemed to revive. He sat up straighter and exclaimed, ”Very impressive!”

”To be able to kill five Second-Level Fierce Tiger Dogs so easily shows that his grasp of timing, Body Technique, and Spear Technique have all reached a very high level of mastery.”

”His ranking has also risen to 8th place. It seems he’s starting to make a push for the top.”

”I’m rather looking forward to his performance from here on out!”

...

”HRR... HRR...”

”ROAR—”

Back in the crumbling ruins, the air was saturated with the thick stench of blood.

The overwhelming scent of blood twisted the minds of countless Calamity Beasts, turning them all bloodthirsty as they continuously charged the black figure in the center.

SQUELCH SQUELCH—

SHINK SHINK—

BAM!!!

Lin Qi watched the endless wave of Calamity Beasts charge him, his expression placid and calm as he continuously swung his Black Great Spear.

His Long Spear thrust out, piercing the throat of an Iron Spike Wild Boar. His Great Spear chopped down like a collapsing mountain, smashing the head of a Shadow Cat.

Great Chop, Great Collapse, Great Thrust!

A surging tide of Mountain-Splitting Power blasted from his body, Tearing the Calamity Beasts apart.

Calamity Beasts fell one after another, and Lin Qi’s body was already spattered with blood.

Points +1, Points +10, Points +1, Points +1, Points +10, Points +10...

SQUELCH SQUELCH—

「An hour and a half later」

Lin Qi stopped and retracted his spear. He looked as if he had become a man made of blood, and his Great Spear had turned into a crimson blood spear.

He looked around. Not a single Calamity Beast was left standing, only a field of corpses stretching as far as he could see.

Lin Qi let out a breath and sat his ass down on the corpse of a Fierce Tiger Dog, then opened the Points Chart to check it.
