High Martial Arts: Grinding for the Supreme Talent

Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Divine Intent, Cultivation Method

”But everyone quickly discovered that this type of cultivation technique was inefficient, especially since the Source Energy on Blue Star is so thin.”

”If they continued cultivating like that, it might take decades before a single High Realm Martial Artist could emerge.”

”Later, Emperor Red, the world’s strongest expert, discovered that Calamity Beasts of the Middle Realm and above would involuntarily absorb the free-floating Source Energy in the air, even if they did nothing but sleep.”

”The higher their level, the stronger the effect.”

”It was dozens of times more efficient than the breathing techniques created by us humans.”

”It’s as if the Calamity Beasts are the favored children of the cosmos, their very bodies containing the mysteries and Laws of the universe.”

”So, Emperor Red utilized humanity’s greatest strength: observation. He observed the breathing patterns of an Eighth-Level Calamity Beast, the Lava Sparrow, and the patterns within its flesh, muscles, and bones. He then proceeded to visualize the Lava Sparrow with his spirit.”

”Ultimately, he successfully created humanity’s first true Source Energy Skill—the *Lava Sparrow Evolution Technique*.”

”From then on, various Source Energy Skills were created one after another. Humanity’s overall strength in Martial Arts took a massive leap forward, allowing us to fend off the Calamity Beast invasions.”

A wave of understanding washed over Lin Qi as he listened. ’So that’s the origin of Source Energy Skills.’

’Emperor Red really is the world’s strongest expert, to have created the *Lava Sparrow Evolution Technique* from scratch.’

’Just how incredible must his Talent and Comprehension have been?’

”During their research, everyone discovered that the higher the level of the visualized Calamity Beast, the better the effect on Source Energy absorption and body refinement.”

”For Martial Artists breaking through to the Second Realm, an Eighth-Level Calamity Beast is the absolute limit of what they can handle,” the old man in white continued to explain.

Lin Qi nodded. In the secret manuals, Evolution Techniques that used Eighth-Level Calamity Beasts as the visualization subject were all rated Five Stars, while those using Seventh-Level Calamity Beasts were Four Stars.

As for why not to visualize a Ninth-Level (King Level) Calamity Beast, it was because a human’s Spirit was too fragile in the Low Realms to handle the visualization.

Those were Evolution Techniques that only Middle Realm Martial Artists could visualize.

A genius had once tried to forcibly visualize the Ninth-Level Calamity Beast, the Earth-Shaking Dragon Elephant. The result was that his spirit was severely damaged, and he was reduced to an idiot.

It was a bloody lesson that served as a warning to future generations.

”Next, I will explain the cultivation method for the *Vajra Tiger Evolution Technique*,” the white-robed elder said, getting to the main point.

”Sit cross-legged, with your hands in the Five Hearts Facing Heaven position!”

”Relax your entire body, calm your mind, and regulate your breathing. Two short breaths, one long...”

”Clear your mind of all stray thoughts and focus your spirit...”

Lin Qi followed the elder’s instructions from the video, sitting cross-legged with his hands in the Five Hearts Facing Heaven position.

He calmed his mind, cleared it of all unnecessary thoughts, and regulated his breathing.

He proceeded step-by-step, methodically.

Soon, his mind entered a state of clear tranquility. His consciousness was like a calm lake, without a single ripple.

”Next, use your belief to communicate with the Obsidian Stone and activate the Vajra Tiger’s Divine Intent!”

Listening to the white-robed elder, Lin Qi was puzzled.

’Belief is formless and silent,’ he thought. ’How am I supposed to command it?’

He could only rely on his senses, locating the Obsidian Stone in the darkness and imagining his belief forming an arm that strained to reach out and touch it.

BOOM!!

In an instant, a deafening sound erupted inside his head.

In the Martial Arts Room, the projected Little Chan only saw the Obsidian Stone suddenly light up.

It shot a beam of golden light into Lin Qi’s brain.

...

「Meanwhile.」

In a spacious Martial Arts Room inside a villa in the wealthy district.

The powerfully built Li Zhou took off his sweat-soaked Martial Arts Uniform and touched the lingering scar on his chest.

’Two days and several vials of Healing Potion later, the injury has finally healed completely.’

He sat down cross-legged and suddenly thought of Lin Qi.

’Lin Qi should be starting his Source Energy Skill cultivation around now.’

’It took me six hours and some carefully prepared, top-grade incense just to clear my mind of stray thoughts back then.’

’As for communicating with the Divine Intent, it took me three days before I could finally visualize it.’

’I wonder how long he’ll need?’

Li Zhou mused for a moment before throwing himself back into his training.

The Disaster Beast Tide at Wanda had shown him the gap between himself and Lin Qi. His only advantage now was his Qi and Blood Value, and he couldn’t afford to be surpassed in that as well.

...

「Red Dome Martial Arts Dojo, the Hall Master’s office on the top floor.」

Yue Feng watched through the window as a crimson transport vehicle departed, disappearing from view.

”Lin Qi’s Divine Intent has been delivered. He should be starting his cultivation attempts now.”

”Old Sun, you’re a Fifth Realm Martial Artist. How long did it take you to visualize it back then?”

Yue Feng asked Manager Sun, who was sitting on a sofa not far away.

Manager Sun shook his head. ”I’m no genius. It took me a full two days just to clear my mind of stray thoughts.”

”And it took another week before I could fully visualize the Divine Intent.”

Yue Feng looked at the buildings outside the window and recalled, ”I think it took me about four hours to clear my mind, and two days to succeed in the visualization.”

”My first time cultivating a Source Energy Skill, I increased my Qi and Blood Value by 1.0.”

”How long do you think it’ll take Lin Qi to successfully visualize it and begin officially cultivating the Source Energy Skill?”

Manager Sun said, ”Perhaps not as fast as you, Hall Master!”

Yue Feng shook his head. ”He should be about the same as me!”

...

「Meanwhile, in Martial Arts Room B123, all was quiet.」

ROAR!

But it felt as if Lin Qi’s brain was about to explode, as a tyrannical tiger’s roar that shook the heavens filled his mind.

He snapped his eyes open, finding himself in what seemed to be a pitch-black, empty space.

Before him appeared a colossal creature. It was a tiger-form Calamity Beast with a body like a towering hill, over fifty meters long.

Its muscles bulged, its lines hard as if cast from iron. Its fur seemed to be forged from gold.

Each strand of fur was like a golden needle, glinting with a metallic luster.

Its head was enormous and majestic. Within its cavernous mouth, sharp teeth stood like a row of crossed, cold blades.

Its four limbs were thick and powerful, as if they could tear apart the earth and the azure sky. The tiger tail behind it was like a colossal golden steel whip, capable of shattering anything in its path.

Lin Qi’s eyes widened. ’This is the Eighth-Level Calamity Beast—the Vajra Tiger!!’

’It’s a top-tier existence even among Eighth-Level Calamity Beasts. Before it, I’m as insignificant as a speck of dust.’

Lin Qi snapped back to his senses and immediately began memorizing every detail of the Vajra Tiger. This was the Divine Intent.

The visualized Calamity Beast was being presented in the form of a Divine Intent.

SWOOSH!!

A moment later, the Vajra Tiger dissipated, returning to the Obsidian Stone.

But Lin Qi, his experience feeling incomplete, found himself back in the Martial Arts Room.

He immediately closed his eyes and began to visualize the Vajra Tiger in his Consciousness Space.

His memory was excellent; he had already memorized the general framework.

He completely calmed his mind, which had been stirred up by the sight of the Vajra Tiger.

In the void of his Consciousness Space, he used his spirit as a brush to sketch the form of the Vajra Tiger.

He became completely immersed in the process.

A few minutes later, Lin Qi opened his eyes and frowned.

’A failure!’

Just now, while sketching the entire body, his concentration had lapsed for a split second, and the whole form had dissipated.

”Using your spiritual will as a brush to sketch the lines of the Vajra Tiger requires a total of 36,000 strokes.”

”During the visualization process, you must complete it in one go, without a single mistake or omission,” the white-robed elder in the video continued.

*Hooo...*

Lin Qi adjusted his mindset and began to visualize again.

He poured his entire spiritual will into the task, entering a peculiar state.

The form of the Vajra Tiger was continuously sketched out.

An hour later, Lin Qi opened his eyes to observe the Divine Intent again before resuming his visualization.

Whenever his spirit was greatly drained, he would take a Stimulant Potion.

In the end, he even took a High-Level Stimulant Potion to keep his spirit in a constantly heightened state.

’Almost there, almost there!’

He had a premonition that he would succeed in his visualization today.
