High Martial Arts: Grinding for the Supreme Talent

Chapter 129: Chapter 129: Mastering Power in Three Days

”The Mountain Splitting Spear Technique has fifteen forms and three great Killing Techniques.”

”Each form builds upon the last, their power increasing progressively.”

”Beginners must first grasp the stance. Stand holding the spear, your body like a pine tree, the spear like a Flood Dragon. Concentrate your entire being and perceive the connection between the spear’s center of gravity and your own strength.”

The burly man in the video stood up, and the entire aura around him changed dramatically. His legs were rooted to the ground, like a great pine tree.

His large hand gripped the silver long spear and swung it abruptly, his presence immense, majestic, and domineering.

”The first form: Wind-Breaking Thrust. Plant your feet, twist your waist and hips, and aim the spearhead straight ahead, channeling your strength to the tip...”

SWISH SWISH!!

The long spear in the man’s hand suddenly thrust out, fast and fierce, the sound of it cutting through the air a whistling roar.

”Second form: Rotating Shadow Strike!”

”Third form: Breaking Clouds with the First Sun!”

”...”

One form followed another, his presence growing more formidable. His movements were wide and sweeping, charging forward with unstoppable momentum, as if backed by immense force. The spear tip seemed to tear through the air, emitting a sharp whistle.

Lin Qi stared intently, committing every single movement to memory.

After the burly man finished his demonstration, Lin Qi’s own presence changed.

He raised his spear, his posture ramrod straight, his body like a pine tree. The next instant, the spear shot out like a dragon.

Twisting his waist and hips, he channeled his strength to the spearhead, thrusting in a single instant. The long spear tore through the air with a whistle.

SWISH!

In the next moment, the spear’s shaft spun horizontally, dancing in a circular shadow that seemed to form a shield protecting his body.

One form after another, the spear’s momentum was fierce and powerful, its presence immense. With wide, sweeping motions, it seemed to carry the might to shatter mountains and split stone.

A moment later, Lin Qi lowered his spear.

...

Lin Qi gripped the Black Great Spear. He had learned all fifteen forms of the Mountain Splitting Spear Technique after watching them just once.

The techniques weren’t overly difficult; they just felt a little more refined than the Mountain Shattering Spear Technique.

Even so, it had improved his Spear Technique.

But looking at the panel notification, it only said he had *studied* it, not *learned* it.

This meant he hadn’t truly mastered it yet.

And the burly man on the screen provided the answer.

”The Mountain Splitting Spear Technique involves the application of Power. Only by learning the Flow of Power and integrating it into the fifteen forms can it be considered truly mastered.”

”Everyone has Power. It’s generated when your muscles exert force. It’s scattered like flowing water, and what we must do is condense it and release it as one.”

Hearing this, Lin Qi once again picked up the Thunder Horn Spear. He thrust it out abruptly, his muscles vibrating as they instantly generated force.

The moment he exerted force, the muscles all over his body moved, producing an invisible energy that coursed through him before dissipating.

That was Power, the force he needed to control.

’My previous Spear Techniques were all about relying on brute force to get the job done. My control over the Flow of Power was indeed too crude,’ Lin Qi thought to himself.

”We need to control this Power, guide it, and release it in a single instant.”

Next to the burly man on the screen, a diagram of the human body was projected, showing every part and explaining how to exert force from different areas.

Lin Qi recalled the explanations from the Secret Manual and cross-referenced them with the diagram.

He began practicing the Spear Technique again, feeling the movement of Power as he did so.

Through specific force-exertion skills, he got the Power generated by his body to start flowing.

SWISH SWISH!!

Lin Qi practiced the new Spear Technique over and over, becoming more and more familiar with it, his proficiency steadily increasing.

The moment he executed a technique, every muscle and great tendon in his body moved violently.

The movement drove his physical strength, and countless streams of Power were transmitted through the vibrations of his great tendons.

Lin Qi gradually became immersed in the process, something he had never paid close attention to before.

Power flowed between his muscles like streams of water that couldn’t be gathered.

「Two hours later」

SWISH SWISH!!

”Haaa...”

Lin Qi was drenched in sweat, his arms trembling uncontrollably. He frowned, his gaze firm.

The Black Great Spear in his hand thrust out in a straight line, the tip piercing the air. At that instant, an invisible force was released through the long spear, radiating outward like a ripple.

TSS~

The Great Spear tore through the air, erupting with a sharp whistle.

’This is the feeling!’

Lin Qi’s eyes lit up.

...

BANG.

Lin Qi stopped. The Thunder Horn Spear slipped from his grasp and clattered onto the soft mat. He collapsed onto the floor himself, a small puddle already forming beneath him.

After a moment, he got up and started gulping down energy drinks, chugging three entire bottles.

”Using Power is too damn hard!”

Lin Qi shook his head. This Spear Technique completely surpassed any of his previous Secret Manuals, demanding precise control over Power.

Compared to this, the Mountain Shattering Spear Technique was incredibly simple.

Mastering the Flow of Power was extremely difficult. He could learn the spear forms with a single glance.

But learning to master the Power within them wasn’t something that could be done in a short time.

”No wonder Teacher Zhang’s friend took half a month just to learn how to channel Power.”

’Not to mention the three great Killing Techniques that follow. They’ll only be more difficult,’ Lin Qi thought.

”But according to the book, once you learn the Flow of Power and integrate it into the techniques, their might will increase dramatically.”

Lin Qi clenched his fists. He was going to be busy for a while.

...

「Meanwhile, in Martial Arts Room A128」

Soaked in sweat with his hair plastered to his face, Guo Heng had a somewhat dazed expression.

A screen was projected in front of him, showing a beautiful girl with delicate features and refreshingly short hair.

Her features were quite similar to Guo Heng’s, and she had a striking black beauty mark under the corner of her eye.

”Sis, this Wave-cutting Saber Technique is too hard, especially the method for channeling Power. I still don’t have a clue,” Guo Heng complained.

Guo Yi smiled from the other side. ”Channeling Power is inherently difficult.”

”It’s not something you can master in a day or two. It took me nearly five days to grasp it last year.”

Guo Heng shook his head. ”Even an S-class talent like you, Sis, took five days. It’ll take me at least a week.”

”Speaking of business, a senior of mine is coming to Celestial Sea City in a couple of days to assess whether a certain genius has the potential to be an S-class talent.”

”Who are they assessing?” Guo Heng asked curiously.

An S-class talent. That was a top-level genius, with only one or two in each province.

Although he was an A-level talent, he was still a long way from S-class.

”I think his name is Lin Qi. Do you know him?” Guo Yi asked.

”Lin Qi?!” Guo Heng’s eyes widened, and he couldn’t help but shout.

”What, you know him?” Guo Yi was curious.

Guo Heng gave a wry smile. ”It’s more than just knowing him. He’s my friend.”

He then recounted Lin Qi’s deeds to his older sister.

Guo Yi’s lovely eyes lit up.

”From what you’re saying, this classmate of yours is truly incredible. He has enormous potential.”

”As expected of my little brother, casually befriending an S-class talent prospect.”

Guo Heng felt a surge of pride, impressed with his own judgment.

He suddenly wondered, with Lin Qi’s Talent, how long would it take him to grasp the channeling of Power?

...

「Two days later, during the afternoon Martial Arts class」

”Dismissed! Train on your own!” Zhang City announced, scanning the crowd.

As the students dispersed, Zhang City watched Lin Qi hurry away and thought, ’That kid is probably still working on the *Mountain Splitting Spear Technique*.’

’He’s likely going to be busy with that for a good while.’

...

In Martial Arts Room 503, Lin Qi returned and immediately consumed a Qi and Blood Pill, an Energy Potion, and applied Red Blood Ointment.

In just a moment, his entire body grew intensely hot.

”Hooo...”

Lin Qi looked at himself in the mirror. His powerful muscles, forged like steel, were now crimson. His skin was scorching hot, steaming with white vapor.

Every joint in his body felt fully activated.

’The more my body works, the more my muscles are engaged, the better I can feel the exertion of force,’ Lin Qi thought.

He picked up the black Thunder Horn Spear and began his Spear Technique cultivation.

SWISH SWISH!!

The spear shaft vibrated with a low hum. The tip trembled, and in an instant, he channeled force into it, twisting his waist and hips as he thrust out like an arrow loosed from a bow.

Wind-Breaking Thrust!

Then, his center of gravity dropped. Using his waist as an axis, he swung the spear up from below in a sudden arc, like a surging ocean wave, his Power spreading out horizontally.

Raging Wave Sweep!

The Mountain Splitting Spear Technique flowed from his hands with the smoothness of running water, the techniques linking together seamlessly.

It was one of the Advanced Spear Skills of the Mountain Shattering Spear Technique, so it had many similarities.

’It’s already been two days. Today is the third day.’

’I’m improving my use of Power every day, but it still feels incredibly difficult.’

’I’m just a little bit away from completely mastering it.’

’I have a hunch... today’s the day!’

As Lin Qi thought this, his body burned with heat. As he exerted himself, his muscles and sinews began to move violently. Immense strength erupted, and every move of his Spear Technique was backed by tremendous force.

His spear paths were varied, like the contours of mountains, rising and falling, crisscrossing in complex patterns.

While he brandished the spear, the muscles in his body were in constant motion.

Power burst forth, flowing through his body.

He pushed off the ground with his feet, drawing power from the earth upward, which was then focused by the twisting of his waist and channeled up his spine to his arms.

As he unleashed a gun technique, his muscle fibers, like taut bowstrings, released their power in sequence, creating a surging, tide-like force.

Lin Qi carefully savored the feeling, his Spirit highly focused, slowly releasing this force.

This force was no ordinary strength. It was highly condensed at the spear tip, as if gathered into a solid mass.

Lin Qi was completely immersed, his mind empty of all distractions.

At a certain moment, everything suddenly changed!

Stream after stream of Power was constantly generated, flowing, and being released.

Under his control, they converged in his arms and poured into the black Thunder Horn Spear.

In an instant, everything was different.

The Power was like a tiger uncaged, carrying an overwhelming force as it vented forth with the thrust of the long spear.

CH-CH-CH~

In that moment, the surrounding air seemed to be sliced by a sharp blade, letting out a piercing whistle.

It was a sound far more intense than before, crisp and loud.

Lin Qi’s eyes lit up.
