High Martial Arts: Grinding for the Supreme Talent

Chapter 109: Chapter 109: Face-Slapping the Previous Year’s Number One

BEEP!

The office door opened. The three looked over and saw a man standing before a lavishly decorated desk, his back to the four of them.

He was dressed in white casual clothes. He was tall and imposing, nearly two meters in height, with broad shoulders and muscular arms.

A powerful aura emanated from his body.

He slowly turned, revealing a handsome face. He tilted his head up to look down on the three of them, a haughty smile on his lips as a powerful pressure instantly erupted from him.

”Hello there, juniors!!”

As he spoke, his aura became like that of a powerful and ferocious giant wolf, carrying an immense sense of oppression that kicked up gusts of wind.

Li Lang looked at the three of them, the corners of his mouth lifting. As their senior, he had come today to leave a deep impression on his juniors and teach them a proper lesson.

He couldn’t wait to see the shocked expressions on their faces.

Feeling the intense pressure, Jiangtao and Li Zhou’s expressions changed drastically.

”What a powerful aura!!” Jiangtao said, gritting his teeth.

It was an intangible force, a direct assault on their Spirit.

Among the three, only Lin Qi’s expression remained calm.

The next moment, a Golden Light seemed to flash in his eyes as his own aura surged forth.

”ROAR~~”

A tiger’s roar seemed to echo through the air. An even more terrifying aura erupted from his body; the Vajra Tiger had sensed a provocation and abruptly awakened.

Jiangtao and Li Zhou, standing beside him, felt it even more intensely. It was as if countless sharp blades were scraping across their bodies.

Li Zhou’s face grew solemn. He stared at Lin Qi, horrified. ’Why is his aura so terrifying?’

Jiangtao thought to himself, ’Is this the change that comes from breaking through to the Second Realm? Why didn’t it happen to me?’

Li Lang, who stood opposite them, felt it most clearly. His own aura was completely overturned and was now being crushed in return.

He was aghast. ’I actually lost in a contest of auras?’

’What’s going on?’

’I was last year’s number one student, someone with a Qi and Blood Value of over 20.’

’And I can’t even suppress a junior?’

”That’s enough!”

Jiang Zhiguang stepped in, putting a stop to the invisible clash of auras.

”Let me make an introduction. You’re probably familiar with him—this is Li Lang, your senior, and last year’s top student.”

”Lin Qi, Li Zhou, Jiangtao, the current top three students of their year.” Jiang Zhiguang briefly introduced both sides.

Jiang Zhiguang looked at Lin Qi, inwardly surprised. ’This kid, Lin Qi... his aura actually overwhelmed Li Lang’s!!’

’They’re a year apart, and the gap in their Qi and Blood Values is enormous.’

’It’s simply unbelievable.’

”Hello, juniors!”

Li Lang breathed a sigh of relief. He had almost been utterly humiliated. He lowered his head, his previous arrogance gone, and extended a hand with a smile.

”Hello, senior!”

A faint smile touched Lin Qi’s lips as he reached out and shook Li Lang’s hand.

The five of them then sat down, and Jiang Zhiguang took on the task of brewing tea.

Li Lang said enthusiastically, ”You three juniors are truly outstanding. You’re much stronger than I was at the same time last year.”

Lin Qi glanced at Li Lang. If he remembered correctly, Li Lang hadn’t even ranked in the top 20 of the entire city.

He wasn’t even as good as Yu Jing or Qi Yuelin. He’d cultivated for an extra year, but now it seemed he was even weaker than Lin Qi had imagined.

”Li Lang came today to share some of his experiences,” Jiang Zhiguang said.

”Senior Li Lang, can you tell us about Azure Sky University?” Jiangtao asked.

”I’d like to hear about it too!” Li Zhou added.

”I’m also curious!” Lin Qi said last, leaning back on the sofa.

Li Lang straightened up and said with a wry smile:

”Azure Sky University... It’s the number one Martial Arts University in our Xia Country based on overall strength.”

”Everyone who gets into Azure Sky University is a true genius, possessing both exceptional Talent and Comprehension.”

”I was number one in my year at No. 2 Middle School, but at the university, there are at least a hundred people stronger than me. The other students aren’t weak either; the difference is negligible.”

”There’s a saying at the university: if you randomly throw a few bricks into a classroom, you’re bound to hit several people who were in the top ten of their respective cities.”

”And that’s not even counting someone like me, who didn’t even make the top twenty in the city.”

”The competition is fierce. If you don’t work hard, you can be surpassed at any moment. The pressure is suffocating.”

”I’ve seen several geniuses from my year who couldn’t handle the pressure, couldn’t take the blows, and just fell into a slump they never recovered from.”

”University is a new beginning, but it also means an even more competitive atmosphere.”

”I regret not working harder in my third year of high school. If you fall behind once, you’ll always be a step behind. I can’t compete with the others at all for many of the Martial Arts cultivation resources.”

The more Li Lang spoke, the more regretful he sounded. The whole reason he’d returned to the school was to show off in front of his juniors and vent some of his stress.

But instead, he’d been put in his place by a junior, which was a huge blow to his ego.

Jiangtao and Li Zhou frowned, feeling the intense pressure just from Li Lang’s words.

Lin Qi’s expression was unreadable. It seemed that after getting into a university, the competition would become even more intense.

But he liked competition. Even if he entered Azure Sky University, he would be one of the most outstanding geniuses there.

Looking at Li Lang now, after his speech, he had completely mellowed out. His previous arrogance was gone, and instead, he was like a husky, overly enthusiastic toward Lin Qi.

Jiang Zhiguang, sitting nearby, was also a bit stunned. He never expected that Li Lang, the former number one student, would have it so rough after entering university.

「A few minutes later」

”Junior Brother Lin Qi, let’s add each other on WeTalk. If you have any questions in the future, feel free to ask me anytime.”

”If you run into any trouble, just let me know. My family has some connections in Celestial Sea City,” Li Lang said enthusiastically.

”Alright.” Lin Qi nodded and added him. He was also curious about university life, and it was always good to have more connections.

After parting ways with the others, Li Lang left the school and sat in his car, feeling cheerful.

He hadn’t expected to gain so much from this trip back to school. A genius like Lin Qi had a limitless future.

The aura of a powerful expert around him was so dazzling.

After today’s encounter, Li Lang had a hunch that even at Azure Sky University, Lin Qi would be among the absolute top tier.

Building a good relationship with him now would definitely be a huge help in the future.

”I look forward to seeing Junior Lin Qi again when he enters Azure Sky University in July.” Li Lang smiled.

「Afternoon. Martial Arts Classroom.」

Zhang City, dressed in a black Martial Arts Uniform, looked around at the crowd, his gaze sweeping over everyone.

”Winter break is over. I don’t know how much you’ve all improved.”

”But your Qi and Blood Values and your Martial Arts won’t lie.”

”There are only 109 days left until the college entrance exams.”

”These next three-plus months are your last chance. No matter how hard or tiring it gets, it’s only for three more months.”

Hearing this, everyone’s expression grew solemn.

Without them realizing it, only a little over three months remained.

The thought brought a heavy sense of pressure to them all.

After the crowd dispersed, Lin Qi returned to his own Martial Arts Room.

He could clearly feel that the Source Energy Concentration in the air was thin.

This would greatly affect his cultivation of the Vajra Tiger Evolution Technique.

He planned to move all his Source Energy Skill cultivation sessions to the Martial Arts Dojo.

He began to calculate silently in his head.

There were just over a hundred days left until the college entrance exams.

He had learned from Li Lang that the competition in university was also extremely fierce. The stronger you were in your final year of high school, the bigger your advantage would be upon entering university.

Therefore, he had to make good use of this time.

’First, I need to organize my upcoming goals.’

First, in the assessment one month from now, he had to break into the provincial top ten.

He needed to get the reward Yue Feng had promised him—preferably a cash reward, so he could buy a new Spear Technique Secret Manual and improve his Martial Arts even further.

Finally, he had to upgrade his contract to S-class to get more money for resources.

This would allow his strength to continue improving and his national ranking to keep climbing.

It would create a positive feedback loop of constant progress.

”Hoo~”

Lin Qi let out a turbid breath. After organizing his thoughts, his goals became clear. All that was left to do was to work hard.
