Crossover Shipgirls: Building a Dimensional Empire from Scratch

Rumble—!!!

The super-graviton cannon strike pierced down from high altitude at light speed.

The Sorcerer King had prepared numerous high-tier cash items to reduce the casting time of super-tier magic, allowing powerful spells to activate instantly.

But before light-speed attacks, no one can react.

Boom—

The energy beam blasted out a hemispherical crater on the ground, collapsing the surrounding terrain by several hundred meters.

”Lord Ainz!!!”

Albedo and the Pleiades saw the Eternal Snowfall suddenly fire and tried to rush in to assist.

Whoosh—

But even the residual waves and high-energy rays from the main cannon disintegrated their bodies in an instant.

In terms of YGGDRASIL’s magic power levels, the Sorcerer King had once used super-tier magic like Fallen Down, with destructive power comparable to anti-army or anti-city Noble Phantasms.

But such spells had many limitations—cooldowns, daily usage caps, long cast times...

On the Eternal Snowfall, every turret possessed firepower equivalent to super-tier magic.

The main cannon, capable of shattering planets, was unimaginable. Under the impact of dozens of supergravity beams, even battleship girls in high orbit could feel the stray energy.

Rumble—

”!!!”

The Sorcerer King felt his HP drop to zero in an instant.

The god-tier Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown disintegrated in the energy torrent. Its embedded auto-counter and auto-defense gems failed to activate.

His black magic robe was instantly ignited by searing ion beams, burning away to reveal the large white skeleton beneath.

He had buffed himself with numerous pre-battle spells, paired with myth-tier armor. Even standing still, level-60 adventurers would struggle to scratch him.

Yet before this power far beyond super-tier magic, all defenses were meaningless.

The Sorcerer King couldn’t even determine what attribute the super-graviton cannon was. Despite stacking fire, lightning, ice, and holy resistances to max, nothing helped.

This was purely a creation of the technological side, outside YGGDRASIL’s magic system.

If not for World-class items granting a pseudo-Guts effect, he would’ve been vaporized the moment he was hit.

—And even that only let him last a few more seconds.

”Why?”

Ainz used his last breath to question the otherworld invader.

He didn’t understand why the enemy had targeted him so decisively, destroying Nazarick without hesitation.

”...”

Setsuna stood atop the bridge, looking down with disdain, and shook his head.

”If you were stronger, and discovered my world, wouldn’t you have done the same to me?”

”Treat us like livestock? Use us for experiments? Or hand us over to terrifying cults and inquisitors to extract our secrets?”

When conquering worlds, if the opponent surrendered obediently, Setsuna usually accepted.

But for the Great Tomb of Nazarick, there was never any chance of peace from the start.

He didn’t believe a group of undead who worshipped their Supreme Being and saw humans as insects would ever coexist peacefully.

”Consider this a dignified exit. Farewell.”

Setsuna waved his hand.

Rumble—

A thunderous blast erupted. Ainz, along with all his gear, was obliterated in high-energy rays. Several World-class items unleashed cataclysmic energy as they were destroyed.

A devastating storm swept through the 10th floor of the Great Tomb.

The already half-destroyed palace was flattened by the shockwave. Everything inside the Throne Room was completely annihilated.

As the smoke and dust settled, only a massive crater remained, hundreds of meters in diameter.

At the center of the pit lay a pile of pitch-black powder—the remnants of shattered artifacts.

”Tsk tsk tsk, the Bone King got blasted to bone ash?”

”He was supposed to be the strongest in this world? Only lasted one move against the Commander... Should’ve let me go down and play.”

Gudako rubbed her hands together.

”Can you withstand instant death magic?”

Setsuna knocked her on the head.

He chose the simplest method to eliminate the Sorcerer King to avoid unnecessary complications.

A duel?

As the Commander, why would he personally go down and risk it when holding such a massive advantage?

He had no reason to let his physical body take weird necromantic magic. Even if he could withstand it, there was no need.

...

Clack—

After landing, the group advanced deeper from the remains of the Throne Room.

The first nine floors of the Great Tomb of Nazarick had already been completely destroyed.

During the assault on the tenth floor, Setsuna had refrained from full destruction, as the treasure vault was also located there.

It contained quite a few spoils.

The Throne Room had been flattened by the earlier attack.

Only a lavish gemstone-inlaid throne remained fixed to the ground.

”Uh... this is the Sorcerer King’s throne?”

”I remember it’s a World-class item called the Throne of Kings? My dear husband, would you like to take it back?”

Mio and the Spirits gathered around, knocking on the throne and examining it closely.

Beautiful craftsmanship, surprisingly heavy.

”This thing resists intel-based effects, right? Useless to us.”

Setsuna thought for a moment.

The Throne of Kings was meant to hide player info—like level, class, and race.

For him, it was just decorative, not particularly useful.

”Still, placing it in the Eternal Snowfall’s command room could be nice. Didn’t that skeleton really love sitting on it?”

Gudako tugged Setsuna’s sleeve.

”We’ve got such a big empire—it’s only right to make a proper throne for the Commander.”

”Why not melt it down and forge a new throne for you? Gold? Too tacky... maybe brass?”

Bonk—

She got whacked on the head again.

”A brass throne, huh? In some sense, that does suit me.”

The group descended from the Throne Room.

The treasure vault was hidden in the deepest part of Nazarick.

Stragglers like Pandora’s Actor were quickly dealt with by Mio and Tohru.

Soon, they reached a large, sealed gate.

Mio opened her Territory and bypassed the enchantments.

Whoosh—

The vault door opened in an instant.

”So bright! My eyes!!!”

Gudako was nearly blinded by the golden glow.

”Whoa!”

Even the well-traveled shipgirls and Setsuna couldn’t help but let out a gasp.

Everywhere they looked—mountains of gold coins, jewels, and exquisite ornaments.

Dazzling brilliance, like stepping into El Dorado.

Some were pure precious metals, others imbued with magical properties—qualifying as magic tools.

In a side chamber, even more valuable high-grade equipment was stored.

Most World-class items had already been taken by the Sorcerer King, but the remaining magical gear was still overwhelming in quantity.

Armor, weapons, staves, scrolls—countless items.

There were also unfamiliar trinkets that looked suspiciously like cash-shop bonuses.

Truly, a pay-to-win guild.

Setsuna was quietly impressed—clearly, this guild had some serious whales.

”Jackpot—!”

Gudako dove into the pile of gold, swimming in the mountain of coins.

”Seriously, have some pride! What does money even mean to you?”

Richelieu pulled her out in annoyance.

”No meaning, I’m just genuinely happy seeing this much gold.”

Gudako lifted her head, full of conviction.

”...”

”Ikaros, Nymph, Astraea.”

Setsuna called over several Angeloids.

”Gather everything here. Catalog the magical items and store them by category.”

”Understood.”

The Angeloids got to work.

”Yep, a game world is still a game world...”

Richelieu gazed at the endless golden mounds and sighed.

”This treasure hoard alone—just the gold—is richer than any country on Earth.”

”Mm, seems like it.”

Setsuna picked up a coin and weighed it—pure gold.

In the original plot, reviving Shalltear cost five hundred million gold coins. The other guardians were similarly valued.

By weight, even emptying Eagle Union’s reserves might not be enough.

Game world economies made no logical sense.

”Speaking of which, YGGDRASIL’s game mechanics allowed players to convert resources into real-world effects here...”

”Can I top-up in this world too? Can I be a super whale?!”

...

The group spent some time thoroughly clearing out the Great Tomb of Nazarick.

Originally a labyrinthine and complex structure, once its visual-distortion enchantments and the domains of Floors 1–9 were destroyed, it became clear that the Great Tomb was essentially a massive subterranean structure buried several kilometers underground.

From high above, it looked like someone had carved a giant crater into the earth.

The pit was filled with ruins—the remnants left behind when the starships leveled the upper floors.

Click—

A few days later—

As the shuttle carrying the final crate of spoils returned to the Eternal Snowfall,

The backfill operation began.

Angeloids piloted small crafts and construction equipment to fill the bottomless pit with dirt, then compacted and flattened it.

Grass, trees, and flowers were transplanted over the surface, and finally, a marker was placed.

It now looked as if nothing had ever happened.

The Great Tomb of Nazarick was now, in the truest sense, a tomb.

The Sorcerer King and his entire guild were buried here.

”Feels like a bit of a waste, doesn’t it?”

Jeanne Alter clicked her tongue.

”That underground city they built was pretty interesting—mountains, rivers, lakes...”

”I was hoping to explore a bit, but you guys bombed it to dust.”

”What’s so great about living in a pile of graves? We’re not undead.”

Setsuna chuckled.

He admitted the structure of the tomb was cool, and it did feel awesome to sit in the Throne Room and command subordinates.

But that was about it.

The place was crawling with skeletons, zombies, and all kinds of grotesque monsters—only undead could live there comfortably.

If you really had to live in it...

Frankly, the port base was better.

At least there, every morning when you woke up, you saw shipgirls, Spirits, dragon girls—all kinds of cute girls, not skeletons.

”Alright then, the conquest of the Great Tomb of Nazarick is complete. Next up: the remaining countries.”

Setsuna glanced at the war declaration interface.

Next to Nazarick’s name was the tag ”Conquered,” indicating the faction had been completely destroyed or had surrendered.

The most powerful force in the Overlord world had fallen—the rest would be much simpler.

”The Re-Estize Kingdom, the Baharuth Empire, the Roble Holy Kingdom, and the Lizardmen tribes—I’ll leave those to you.”

”Wipe them out quickly.”

Setsuna issued orders to the shipgirls of the expeditionary fleets.

From the very beginning, he’d clashed with the Great Tomb upon arriving in this world. The fight had gone back and forth for a few rounds, but in reality, it hadn’t taken long.

Most of the time had been spent sorting through the loot. If the Sorcerer King hadn’t fearlessly initiated a boarding battle, things would’ve wrapped up even faster.

”Understood!”

The fleet in the sky scattered in all directions.

...

Baharuth Empire. A day of peace.

Inside the imperial palace of the capital, the young blond Emperor Jircniv, dressed in ceremonial robes, stood before a sand table map discussing state affairs with his ministers.

”We’ve received a declaration of war from an unknown civilization calling itself the Starsea Empire.”

”Scouts have investigated surrounding nations—no country by that name exists on this continent.”

The Blood Emperor gestured across the map.

”Also, the Re-Estize Kingdom has withdrawn its troops. Based on spy reports, they seem to have received the same war declaration.”

The kingdom and the empire had long been mortal enemies, locked in mutual conflict. The abrupt declarations from another world had interrupted their war.

”No battles have occurred on the border, and scouts have reported no signs of enemy troop movements.”

A general-looking figure added.

Upon receiving the declaration of war, the empire immediately entered a state of alert. Several border cities were placed under martial law, and thousands of scouts were dispatched to investigate.

But no enemy was found.

At least, no marching armies were spotted on land.

”Looks like some kind of prank.”

A fully armed knight at the Emperor’s side clicked his tongue.

One of the Four Imperial Knights—the strongest in the empire—he was allowed to speak freely in front of the emperor.

”...”

The Blood Emperor fell into thought, then looked toward an elderly man in a white robe sitting nearby.

”Master Fluder, what do you think?”

Fluder Paradyne, the Baharuth Empire’s top court magician, the most powerful magic caster among humans, and the empire’s guardian.

”...”

Fluder pondered for a moment.

”Your Majesty’s declaration of war was likely a magical transmission—most likely sent by a powerful magic caster.”

Lacking knowledge of holographic interfaces, the locals could only interpret them through their own understanding of magic.

”A magic spell, huh? That explains a few things...”

Jircniv rubbed his chin.

”Then, Master, how strong do you think the enemy is?”

”Being able to transmit messages from extreme range suggests at least Tier-5 magic,”

Fluder mused, stroking his beard.

”And if they could precisely pinpoint Your Majesty’s location... they may be Tier-6 or even Tier-7 and above...”

Hiss—

The Emperor and the Four Imperial Knights inhaled sharply.

A magic caster stronger than Fluder could rival an entire imperial army.

”Looks like we need to bolster our forces. Summon all adventurers of mithril rank or higher—I want them hired.”

Emperor Jircniv gave the order.

”Yes, Your Majesty.”

Just as the officials were about to carry out his commands—

Hum—

With a thunderous roar,

A fleet of starships descended slowly from beyond the atmosphere, casting massive shadows over half the imperial capital.

”Your Majesty! Outside! Something’s happening!!!”

Guards shouted hoarsely.

Everyone rushed outside.

”This is...”

Emperor Jircniv, the Four Knights, and Fluder all froze in place.

Above them hovered three colossal aircraft carriers—two white and one gold—emitting pale blue light from their undersides, heating the air around them.

Surrounding them were over a dozen smaller cruisers and destroyers.

Beneath the fleet floated tens of thousands of Angeloids.

With wings spread wide and armed with energy swords or beam rifles, they flanked the starships.

Their graceful faces and white wings exuded an aura of divine sanctity.

A sky filled with angels!

Even the commoners below stood dumbstruck.

In this world of swords and sorcery, angels symbolized supreme divine power—only the rarest of high-tier mages could summon a single one.

And now, tens of thousands?

It was like heaven had descended.

”Why do their weapons look different from the ones in legends?”

Some civilians whispered.

”Aren’t angels supposed to carry swords of judgment or holy hammers? Their weapons look kinda weird...”

The Angeloids were far more beautiful than any summoned angels here—but their rifles and missile launchers looked far too cybernetic.

Click—

While everyone was still frozen in awe of the heavenly invaders, the frontmost ivory-white starship opened its hatch.

A curvaceous shipgirl with silvery-white hair stepped onto the bridge, looking down upon the terrified crowd below.

”Tsk, seriously, this kind of task should be given to Iron Blood shipgirls. Having a Royal Lady handle it just feels wrong, right?!”

Formidable mumbled, slapping her cheeks to focus.

”Whatever, since it’s the Commander’s request, I’ll do it beautifully.”

”He’d better compensate me later.”

She scanned the panicked natives and spoke slowly:

”Nice to meet you. We are the Starsea Empire—the civilization that declared war on you recently.”

”Ah?!”

A wave of panic spread through the crowd. The Four Knights drew their swords and moved to protect the Emperor.

Court magicians prepared their spells.

”No need to get so riled up.”

Formidable didn’t mind at all and pulled out a pre-written speech.

”Simply put, the Commander is offering you a chance to surrender and become a vassal state under the Starsea Empire.”

”You know how vassal states work, right? Your internal affairs are governed by your suzerain, and you pay regular tribute.”

”But don’t worry—we help our vassals develop. You won’t be exploited into starvation. Our other vassal worlds are doing better than before...”

Realizing she was rambling, she coughed and refocused.

”Anyway, if you don’t surrender, we won’t be polite. It’s still wartime, after all.”

”If you’re thinking of refusing... I suggest you reconsider.”

Her casual tone made cold sweat break out across the imperial officials.

How could such threatening words come from such a cute girl?

”Apologies, but for the empire to become the vassal of an unknown civilization... that’s going too far.”

”We currently know nothing about you. I’d like the chance to visit your capital and learn more...”

The Blood Emperor spoke cautiously.

A master of political maneuvering, he wanted to gather as much information about this alien power as possible—ideally firsthand.

”You want what? Not happening.”

Formidable rolled her eyes.

”If the Commander’s in a good mood, maybe he’ll let you stay emperor. But visiting our capital? Port base is closed to you. Thanks.”

”That’s too much!!!”

The Four Knights were enraged at her disrespect toward the Emperor.

”Ugh, you natives are such a pain. You never give up until you’re beaten...”

Formidable shook her head and waved.

”Angeloids—go.”

...

Five minutes later.

Emperor Jircniv and Fluder were kneeling before the angels, signing the surrender decree.

”It is my honor... to be the Starsea Empire’s dog.”
