Chapter 283: Volume 4 Chapter 45 Doomed Together?_3

Zola glanced sideways at the adjutant with some helplessness. This guy had taken a heavy blow to the head for saving Zola’s life on the battlefield. He cursed, ”What do we, the Miracle Army, do? Accompany the Emperor to his grave? Can’t you use your brain a bit! Now there’s a coup, you think it’s better for His Majesty to stay here rather than be taken away?”

The adjutant looked puzzled, ”What you mean is...”

Zola’s small eyes narrowed slightly, like an old fox, ”That guy said he was a fugitive. Who among us wouldn’t know a Mechanical Warrior of this level? This excuse is too lame. Moreover, that Mixed Army is clearly well-trained. How can a fugitive possess such power? It’s obvious, these guys kidnapped His Majesty, James, to use his influence! Those rebels who really want His Majesty dead would be delighted if we fight these guys to the death. Wouldn’t that fit right into the rebels’ plans?”

The adjutant suddenly understood, ”Oh, so...”

Zola’s face showed a smug look, raising his eyebrows, ”I’ve thought about it. These people are either those bandits from the Freedom Front or forces from the Leray Federation. If we push them too hard, they might actually kill His Majesty. But if they confront the rebels, they would fight desperately to protect His Majesty. And, if they truly return His Majesty to me, I wouldn’t know what to do. At that moment, the Miracle Army would become everyone’s target! So, I’d rather go with the flow and let these guys be our shield. We just need to cooperate with them. As long as we don’t have the target, the pressure is off, and we can be at ease.”

Just as Zola finished speaking, the special communicator rang. He frowned as he turned it on, and Fatty’s voice came through, ”Dear Zola, I forgot to tell you, the Mythical Army has mutinied. We just found out they’ve arrived. Good luck, dear.”

”Damn it!” Realizing that he had indeed been made a scapegoat, Zola cursed as he switched off the communicator. Looking up, he saw the adjutant looking around, ”What’s the matter?”

”General, we can’t be carefree anymore. Look...” The adjutant, as always, was unaware of the danger.

The Royal Spaceship, which had already risen into the air, wavered and actually descended, crashing into a corner of the fighting arena, creating a gash.

Moments later, a group of nobles imprisoned in the fighting arena scattered and ran naked, their pale buttocks visible everywhere, truly a spectacular sight. Following the trajectory of the Royal Spaceship, the sound of accelerated Mecha running and vibrations echoed behind the Miracle Army. When Zola turned back, he saw several [Vajra] Mechas had already passed through the surrounding trees of the abandoned farm, revealing their ferocious cannons.

Three points in a line, with the Miracle Army in the middle. It was indeed not a pleasant situation.

”I think that guy deliberately had the spaceship descend. He’s using us as a shield!” the adjutant shouted with certainty.

”Go to hell...” Zola kicked him tumbling, angrily shouting, ”Immediately contact those Mythical Army guys and tell them I am here. Now, I want to speak to Reinhardt!”

Osullivan coldly watched a [Mad Dragon] perform hand signals and ordered, ”Zola has rebelled. Regiment One, assault; Regiment Two, flank on both sides and encircle. The Guard Company will come with me to the fighting arena!”

Not every soldier was completely loyal to Reinhardt or indifferent to the Gazalin Royal Family. However, this unit had always been trained to stop thinking. They were warriors absolutely devoted to following orders.

Orders were orders, no explanations needed.

Over a hundred modified [Vajra] Mechas, as the vanguard, quickly executed the command. The Mechas, at full power, charged at the [Mad Dragon] Mechas which had already formed a defensive formation like an avalanche plunging into the sea.

Although the opponents were once comrades who had fought side by side, for the warriors of the Mythical Army, emotions were a thing of excess. When needed, they had to kill their comrades or even themselves without hesitation, so any mercy or friendship was a liability.

Fire! Energy Cannons and missiles shuttled back and forth between the two sides at high speed, dense like waves hitting the shore. Explosions rang out incessantly, and all the Mechas were unleashing the fire of death with all their might. At that moment, in the eyes of these former comrades, there was only the enemy!

Ignoring the fierce firefight at the frontline between the Mechas, Osullivan kept his eyes fixed on that Royal Spaceship. A few minutes ago, when he watched through his Mecha’s long-range viewer as James boarded the Royal Transport Ship, his heart was in his throat. If the Transport Ship took off, he would have to retreat and leave everything to Reinhardt, who was sailing towards Tanville, to turn back and use the warships to eliminate James.

If that happened, Osullivan would feel he was too incompetent. Therefore, he could not allow James to slip away right before his eyes.

Heavenly God blessed, that spaceship lost control and crashed into the fighting arena. Now, the Transport Ship was still struggling to take off again, but the poor handling only let it wobble left and right less than two meters above the ground, while the auxiliary boosters kicked up a cloud of dust.

”Charge!” Osullivan, piloting his modified [Vajra], led two regimental Guard Companies towards the fighting arena. He needed to quickly capture or kill James while the strange troop comprised of former Mythical Soldiers was entangled.
