The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1588: Chapter 1588: Terrible Luck

Ji... Ji You drifted away.

Drifted away!

The rope broke too quickly; everyone on the X-N3848 didn’t react in time. He Bi, who was also a ’kite’ like Ji You, did react at that moment. He rushed over before Ji You disengaged from the spaceship, but without a Mecha, He Bi was like a lone leaf in a vast wave in the starry sky, unable to act.

Thus, his hand reached out but couldn’t grab Ji You. He watched helplessly as Ji You drifted away.

At that moment, He Bi’s face was more serious than ever. He said nothing and suddenly ripped off the clasp at his waist!

”Senior!”

”No!”

”Senior!”

”Senior, stop!”

Before the spaceship, Chu Jiaojiao, Yue Qiguang, Yue Qiyuan... none of them finished speaking before seeing He Bi had already released the clasp, heading towards the direction Ji You was drifting!

Everyone: ”!!!”

All their hearts were in their throats!

At this moment, the two mosquitoes chasing closely after the spaceship suddenly split, and one of them turned towards Ji You and He Bi’s direction!

”It’s bad!”

”Senior and Ji You have no Mecha.”

”What to do?”

At the time, to avoid detection by the 12-level Star Beast, He Bi and Ji You went over with only cold weapons and didn’t dare bring Mecha.

At this time, it’s equivalent to the two being unarmed, how can they fight a 12-level Star Beast?

On the deck, Chu Jiaojiao’s expression was more severe than ever. She was about to speak when she heard something, and swiftly turned towards the two mosquitoes in the starry sky.

Because, Sheng Qingyan, who had been guarding the turret for a long time without moving, finally fired the cannon! He launched a missile that had been long in preparation.

Thus, everyone heard countless whooshing sounds in the starry sky!

The target was racing towards the two mosquitoes, especially the one trailing Ji You and He Bi!

Can’t hit.

How could it hit?

This was a level-12 mosquito, and when flying at full speed, even the most advanced human tracker might lose it. How could a mere second-year student hit it?

No one had optimistic thoughts.

At this moment, everyone saw those chaotic and seemingly randomly fired bullets suddenly explode in the starry sky!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Amid the sparks, the mosquito flying towards Ji You and He Bi trembled all over, its wings fluttering wildly. Everyone looked closely and saw its wing root was bleeding bright red!

Holy... crap!

It hit?

It actually hit!

Turns out, those messy, randomly fired bullets were actually a blind eye method, meant to cover for the truly deadly one.

The hit mosquito emitted an angry buzzing noise and turned, charging back towards the X-N3848!

Successfully attracting the attention of two mosquitoes, at that moment, Sheng Qingyan’s face in the quiet corner was expressionless, only his fingers trembled slightly, then he again crouched low to aim.

”Spicy Eye drew the mosquitoes back; Ji You and Senior He Bi’s survival pressure is reduced, but our situation is more dangerous.” Chu Jiaojiao’s face was more severe than ever, saying, ”So, we need to split into two groups.”

Understanding her meaning, Yue Qiguang said, ”Dad and I will go to fetch them.”

Yue Qiyuan pursed his lips and said, ”I’ll stay back with Shen Changqing and Spicy Eye on the spaceship. Rest assured, we won’t let the mosquitoes catch up before you return.”

Liu Fufeng lay unconscious in the treatment cabin. Yue Qiyuan had already moved him inside the spaceship.

They made arrangements.

Next.

Chu Jiaojiao and Yue Qiguang geared up, bringing along Ji You and He Bi’s Mecha. Their Mecha was stored in the Space Button, removed at the time.

Before leaving, Chu Jiaojiao took the net woven by Liu Fufeng along.

Chu Jiaojiao said, ”Spicy Eye, cover us, Yue Qiguang and I are going to fetch them.”

In the vast starry sky, retrieving someone is like finding sand in the ocean, even far more difficult.

However, it cannot be ignored.

Yue Qiguang snorted, ”Hurry and cover us, that 1 meter 65 shorty from No. 4444, looks so tiny in space, if they go too far, it won’t be easy to fetch them.”

Upon hearing this, Sheng Qingyan fired a few more shots!

This time, the shots hit two other Star Beasts lurking nearby wanting to muddy the waters! These two were Flame Beasts, they screamed and even sprayed some fire towards the spaceship!

The mosquitoes saw their prey contested by Star Beasts and became furious, flapping wings fiercely at that direction!

Crash~

These two Star Beasts couldn’t beat the 12-level mosquitoes, wisely retreated, but it was enough; this brief exchange, though only a few seconds was sufficient for Chu Jiaojiao and Yue Qiguang to slip away!

The two, driving their Mecha, whisked off far away.

The mosquitoes split again; Sheng Qingyan repeated his trick, firing again to lure the mosquitoes over, but this time the mosquitoes didn’t fall for it.

Unable to help, Sheng Qingyan fired wildly across, focusing on the surrounding lurked Star Beasts!

Muddying the waters, makes fishing easier.

This logic aligns with Ji You’s previous use of stinky bombs.

However, the Star Beasts around mostly have dull senses, insensitive to stink bombs, or have survived through previous hurdles despite stink bombs, thus being quite strong.

Sheng Qingyan’s maneuver indeed drew quite a number of Star Beasts into the mix.

The two mosquitoes emitted another warning buzz!

The surrounding Star Beasts then halted their movements.

Chu Jiaojiao and Yue Qiguang seized the chance to run far.

On the other hand.

Ji You knew it was trouble the moment the rope broke! Her first thought was to rush towards Senior He Bi but was a step too late.

Ji You’s mindset was relatively calm because she knew first-hand that her priority was avoiding contact with any Star Beasts! Otherwise, her thin skin wouldn’t withstand even a single strike from a Star Beast!

The sky filled with Star Beasts, any one of them could easily kill her.

But Ji You’s luck was bad, seemingly all her luck had run out. She avoided the aftershock of mosquito wing vibrations, but fell right into the sight of another Star Beast!

A Fierce Thunder Beast!

At least an 11-level Fierce Thunder Beast.

The Fierce Thunder Beast’s fangs were clearly visible; with a forceful breath, it could swallow Ji You whole.

The bad luck was Ji You discovered she had no means of counterattack. The opponent’s skin was rough, meat hard; cold weapons couldn’t pierce its flesh, and its spiritual power was exceptionally strong, Ji You attempted to gather all her Six Spiritual Threads’ abilities to attack the opponent’s spirit...

To no avail.

The opponent’s spiritual power was overwhelmingly strong, Ji You’s spiritual power couldn’t affect it!

On the contrary, the Fierce Thunder Beast’s spiritual power could affect Ji You.

Hence, Ji You didn’t dare pursue too far nor tried probing with spiritual power, only cautiously observing from the side.
