The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1571: Chapter 1571: En Route

The spaceship pierced through the starry sky at an incredible speed. He Bi squinted his eyes, staring at the monitor, and said, ”Do you know the sequence number of this spaceship?”

Ji You: ”???”

He Bi used a very casual tone, saying, ”X-N3848.”

Ji You: ”???”

She didn’t understand.

Really, she wasn’t pretending; she genuinely didn’t get it.

He Bi’s eyes were fixed on the starry sky ahead and he said, ”X-N is the warship sequence number of the Sixth Legion. The spaceship we are currently on was acquired from the Sixth Legion. This is a configuration from the elite forces personally trained by Admiral Bai Ji—the Fierce Tiger Team. It was the old principal who personally approached Admiral Bai Ji to negotiate, leading to Bai Ji’s approval and the allocation to our school.”

Ji You’s eyes widened!

He Bi continued, ”It’s very powerful, equivalent to a small warship!”

Ji You pursed her lips.

It looked so inconspicuous, but since it was equipped for the elite soldiers by Admiral Bai Ji, it was evidently very strong; there was no doubt about it.

However, heading towards the Space Rift, is it really that dangerous? Or is the mission so important that it warrants the involvement of Admiral Bai Ji?

Before this, Ji You always thought she was just going on an adventure, searching for treasures, even at the cost of her life, but it was just her own affair.

Now, Ji You suddenly felt that she and Chu Jiaojiao carried an important mission on their shoulders. This mission was one that must succeed without fail.

Ji You gently clenched her fist.

At that moment, He Bi’s pupils slightly contracted.

Ji You’s heart tensed, and she immediately turned to the monitor, seeing that the red dot she had marked on the monitor screen was approaching the spaceship.

Ji You squinted, ”Couldn’t shake them off?”

It was a group suspected to be interstellar pirates. When Ji You’s spaceship had just passed the 14th Jump Point, she spotted them.

Altogether, 6 Mechas were hidden in the pitch-black starry sky, seemingly unremarkable. But these 6 Mechas chose to lurk near the Jump Point, which made it hard to feel at ease.

Thus, utilizing the powerful reconnaissance and stealth capabilities of the X-N3848, Ji You boldly sent a detector to the location where they were lurking. She found out these 6 Mechas, seemingly ordinary Alliance Standard Mechas, were actually modified.

The identity and specifics of the other party couldn’t be probed.

But!

Lurking sneakily in such a special place always has issues.

Ji You marked the opposing Mechas with a red dot representing danger to alert Senior He Bi.

However, He Bi had no intention of engaging with them. He quickly piloted the spaceship past them.

X-N3848 possesses invisibility capabilities. To save energy, after completely leaving the surrounding Star Domain of Lanyue Star, the invisibility function had been turned off.

The trajectory of the spaceship was visible to all.

At this speed, if they could catch up, that would be interesting.

He Bi’s eyelashes fluttered; his demeanor showed not a hint of tension.

Then, the spaceship suddenly slowed down. The Mechas chasing behind saw an opportunity and suddenly sped up. As one seemed about to collide with the spaceship, He Bi’s eyes darkened. Under his control, the whole spaceship flipped upside down and smashed directly into the foremost black Mecha!

Boom—

In an instant, sparks flew everywhere!

Immediately afterward, the Mecha group chasing them couldn’t react in time and all crashed into the black Mecha!

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Six Mechas collided with each other, the scene was chaos.

When the pilots of these Mechas climbed up from the floor of their cockpits, He Bi had already piloted the spaceship and made a hasty departure.

In just a few seconds, it had vanished without a trace.

The leader of the black Mecha smacked the control panel in frustration!

”Boss, should we chase them?” A somewhat nervous voice came from inside one of the Mechas.

[Alert! Alert! Energy pressure pump malfunction! Please perform immediate maintenance!]

The owner of the black Mecha hadn’t answered when he heard the alarm from his Mecha.

”Boss?”

”Boss, my Mecha is having problems.”

”Boss, mine too. The power is completely down!”

”...”

The owner of the black Mecha, with calm eyes, said, ”Give up, send a message to the higher ups, telling them the interception failed, and initiate the next plan.”

”Yes.”

...

The vast, boundless starry sky, this minor incident, silent and unnoticed, was submerged in the galaxy.

After adeptly maneuvering around the opponent, He Bi piloted the spaceship out from another Jump Point, then the spaceship swiftly headed toward the next destination marked on the navigation chart without pause.

Ji You witnessed the entire event.

Senior He Bi initially displayed weakness, then caught the opponent off guard, not entangling with them, but seizing the moment to withdraw quickly.

Ji You said, ”Senior, from the beginning you didn’t plan to fight with them?”

He Bi rolled his eyes, saying, ”Why bother with them? There’s no money to be made.”

”...” Ji You replied, ”But maybe they’re super rich?”

He Bi didn’t care, saying, ”They didn’t even spend money to modify their Mechas, broke upon collision, can those poor devils be filthy rich?”

Ji You frowned, ”But aren’t interstellar pirates usually filthy rich? I watched a video of a pirate suppression mission, where heaps of Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures piled up like a mountain, and Soul Devices were casually lying around...”

”...” He Bi sneered at Ji You, saying, ”You watched General Chu Zhan’s pirate suppression video, didn’t you?”

”Uh...yes.” Ji You blinked, asking, ”Is there a problem with that?”

He Bi rolled his eyes, disdainfully saying, ”That video’s how many years old? At least 200 years, right? Over all these years, the Alliance has intensified pirate suppression efforts annually, especially General Chu Zhan, who’s been retired yet relentless in hunting down Star Thieves, almost clearing them out. There’s no more easy pickings now.”

Ji You laughed cheekily, ”I support Grandma Chu Zhan! These interstellar pirates should be wiped out completely! Aren’t there other jobs they could do? Even scavenging would sustain them, but instead, they engage in such heinous activities, they deserve to be beaten into starting anew!”

While speaking cheerfully, Ji You suddenly turned serious, asking, ”Senior, are these people not ordinary interstellar pirates?”

He Bi, with cold eyes, said, ”I don’t know.”

”However——” He Bi looked at the starry sky ahead, saying, ”Our journey probably won’t be particularly smooth from here on out.”

Ji You frowned, ”Should we change the course map?”

He Bi shook his head, saying, ”No need. With the X-N3848 at our disposal, as long as we’re careful and don’t entangle ourselves with others, we can avoid most obstacles.”

”Our current goal is to quickly reach the Space Rift’s meeting point, otherwise, when the Space Rift temporarily closes, we won’t be able to enter.”

”Is the other party’s goal to entangle us? To prevent us from entering?” Ji You quickly caught the critical point, asking, ”I heard the number of people that can enter each time the Space Rift opens is limited; are they intending to take our place?”
