The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1570: Chapter 1570: Concealed Movements

The originally playful group quickly put away their expressions and prepared for action.

Then.

The spaceship quickly broke through the atmosphere and entered outer space. It was at this point that everyone realized that the spaceship actually had the ability to conceal itself.

Ji You sat in the co-pilot seat, watching Senior He Bi ramp up the speed to its maximum. In the blink of an eye, the spaceship left the Lanyue Star’s route and entered outer space.

During this time, as they passed through the Lanyue Star’s outer space domain, they could see the school and nearby Guardian Border Army executing a patrol mission. Yet the spaceship flew past their mecha without alerting them at all. Not even their detectors made the slightest sound.

Ji You was stunned and hurriedly asked, ”Senior He Bi, what kind of black technology is this spaceship equipped with?”

He Bi said, ”It’s the latest model of the reconnaissance aircraft, capable of avoiding sound waves, electromagnetic waves, radar detection, biological spiritual waves... over 90% of the signals currently known to humanity. It’s currently only applied to frontline battles. The production rate is extremely low, likely less than 10,000 units in total.”

Ji You: ”!!!”

Ji You was dazed for a moment: ”Is that less than 10,000 across the whole Alliance?”

He Bi: ”Mm.”

Ji You’s mouth dropped open: ”Why do we have such scarce strategic resources? And why is it allocated to us?” They’re just students, not even real soldiers, merely reserves.

Aren’t we using a sledgehammer to crack a nut here?

He Bi turned to face Ji You, his eyes carrying a touch of solemnity, and said, ”Because we’re worth it.”

Ji You: ”???”

He Bi’s voice was not only directed to Ji You but amplified so everyone on the spaceship could hear, ”Because our mission to the Space Rift is to collect information on alien species. This information might be crucial in solving the impending Beast Tide. Therefore, it’s not just us, other students entering the Space Rift are given special care as well.”

To find this information within the vast, unpredictable Space Rift, the prerequisite is ensuring the students can survive.

The Space Rift has too many variables, even the Alliance leadership can’t guarantee the students’ absolute safety.

So, under such conditions, we try to maximize the students’ survival chances.

He Bi’s answer clarified Ji You and the others’ confusion.

The next second.

He Bi said, ”Of course, collecting information on alien species is my main focus. Your mission is to try your best to stay alive.”

Ji You and others: ”...”

Everyone has an abundance of self-confidence, especially when they hear He Bi’s arrogant words. Ji You was the first to express dissatisfaction, ”Senior, you should try to stay alive too. If worst comes to worst, we’ll rescue you.”

He Bi glanced at her sideways, saying, ”Alright, I’ll do my best to avoid needing rescue.”

Ji You chuckled and asked another question that was on her mind, ”Senior He Bi, is it because of this spaceship’s special nature that we deliberately concealed our departure from Lanyue Star?”

What Ji You was slightly bothered by was that before leaving school, she didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye to Sister Lingzhi, Little Zhouzhou, traitor brother... or any of her classmates from the Combat Department. Not a single person came to see them off, not even Teacher Mu Jianling or Principal Hong appeared.

Until now, Teacher Mu hasn’t made a phone call or even sent a message of greeting.

Such heartless people.

Cold-hearted.

Hum~

Ji You didn’t want to admit she was a bit disappointed.

He Bi controlled the spaceship, rapidly passing through one Jump Point after another. Each time they went through a Jump Point, the intense dizziness and pressure made people feel very uncomfortable.

Once the spaceship exited a Jump Point, Ji You felt chest oppression and shortness of breath, her head a bit dizzy. He Bi seemed composed, with no sign of discomfort. He said, ”Your physical strength is still lacking. Such intensive Jump Point crossings, once or twice might not cause any reaction, but when repeated frequently, the gap between your weak body and others’ strong bodies becomes apparent!”

He Bi’s dark eyes were fixed on the monitor, saying, ”Often the real danger arises at this time. The true killer move hidden by the enemy will also reveal its fangs when you’re weak.”

Ji You raised her hand to rub her brow, not refuting him.

Just now, they had crossed 13 Jump Points in total, and it wasn’t until the 11th one that Ji You’s body showed signs of discomfort.

Ji You didn’t pay attention to these things, asking her previous question again: ”Why are we concealing our departure and leaving secretly?”

The school made a huge announcement awarding medals to the 7 of them, but the subsequent Space Rift mission wasn’t made public. Many students didn’t even know that Ji You and the other 7 with He Bi left the Lanyue Star Military Academy.

He Bi looked at the flight path map, observing the smooth journey since takeoff. Despite appearing nonchalant, He Bi handled things very steadily. He disliked things exceeding his control, anything...

Thus, the low-key departure this time was his suggestion.

After comprehensive consideration, the school agreed to He Bi’s request.

Now, as Ji You and the others ask questions, to prevent these underclassmen from misunderstanding due to lack of details, leading to uncontrollable accidents, He Bi patiently explained, ”There is little information on the Space Rift, but it doesn’t mean there’s no leakage. Thus, besides the authorities, several civil organizations, even interstellar pirates and illegal organizations, as well as Evil Forces, are aware of the Space Rift news. This time, the Space Rift’s early opening might have reached their ears as well. Though the authorities control the Space Rift entry channels, it’s not a watertight arrangement - there are chances for loopholes.”

Before Ji You could speak, Chu Jiaojiao, who had been quietly listening, suddenly said, ”Senior He Bi, are you saying we might be that loophole? That pirate and other criminal groups might target us as an entry into the Space Rift?”

He Bi nodded, saying, ”Exactly, that’s what I mean.”

Yue Qiguang frowned, saying, ”Why doesn’t the Alliance send personnel to escort us? With their escort, our risk decreases, and we won’t become a loophole.”

He Bi replied seriously, ”Because they can’t openly escort us; otherwise, it would completely reveal the coordinates of this Space Rift.”

”Those interstellar pirates possess limited information, unlikely to locate the Space Rift’s coordinates or timing in advance.” He Bi paused, adding, ”That’s also why we need to leave quietly.”
