The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1558: Chapter 1558: I Won’t Be a Martyr

Countless students looked at Sheng Qingyan on the stage. Sheng Qingyan kept a serious and solemn expression, which was rare, as Principal Hong personally pinned the honor medal on him, he finally opened his mouth to say a word: ”Hmm.”

He said hmm.

Not oh.

In that instant, Ji You, Chu Jiaojiao, Shen Changqing...all the 131-level Combat Department students couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Sheng Qingyan then said, ”Principal, I will work hard.”

Principal Hong smiled and said: ”Good.”

Applause arose beneath the stage.

Sheng Qingyan kept his face tense, he really didn’t like this kind of occasion, it felt like a wedding, no! Marriage probably wouldn’t be so annoying...

Countless eyes were staring at you, looking at you with that sticky, nerve-wracking gaze, you roll your eyes, and they can count every single blood vessel in your eyeballs...

Annoying, oh.

Really don’t want this, oh.

Being lazy and gluttonous, oh, is thousands of times happier than standing on this podium getting grilled, oh.

Seriously, oh.

What’s with this awards ceremony, oh, making people seem so impressive, oh, I don’t even want to be impressive, you know? My wish is just to be the cutest Little Cutie in the world, oh...

Still have to study, oh, still have to keep working hard, oh...

Forget it, oh, forget it, oh...

The old man is looking at me with such expectation, oh, I have to agree, oh.

...

After the award ceremony was over, internally critiquing frantically, Sheng Qingyan, with a serious face, finally returned to the crowd and stood in his original position.

Next.

Is the second person.

Principal Hong said: ”Please welcome the third place winner of the inter-school competition, Chu Jiaojiao, to the stage to receive her prize.”

Clap clap clap~

Applause echoed.

Chu Jiaojiao was a bit nervous, but only for a moment, as she then held her head high and walked to the stage; facing countless eyes below, she loudly declared: ”1111, Chu Jiaojiao reporting!”

”Very spirited.” Hong Jiang praised, put a red flower on her, and said: ”Go ahead.”

Chu Jiaojiao loudly: ”Yes!”

Principal Hong looked at the vibrant Chu Jiaojiao, very pleased, and remarked: ”Has the demeanor of Admiral Chu.”

In front of everyone, Chu Jiaojiao directly said: ”No! I’m stronger than my grandmother and my aunt!”

Principal Hong, hearing this, revealed a kind smile and said: ”Good!”

After Chu Jiaojiao, was Ji You.

Ji You was naturally a bit nervous, but she has a knack for appearing calm, and then, when Principal Hong called her name, Ji You stepped confidently onto the stage.

She got onto the stage, and Principal Hong, seeing Ji You, his eye unconsciously twitched a bit, almost thinking this audacious kid is going to create mischief, but Ji You was perfectly composed, obediently greeting: ”Hello, Principal Hong.”

Principal Hong hung the red flower around her neck and said: ”Go ahead.”

This red flower was a bit ugly.

Ji You muttered to herself, but still gleefully hung it around her neck, then stood up straight, waiting for Principal Hong to pin her medal.

Principal Hong looked at Ji You, with a loving smile in his eyes, then, preparing to pin the medal on Ji You, realized there was some height discrepancy between them.

Although Principal Hong’s body was aged, his height was still taller than Ji You’s, needing to bend down to pin it, at this moment, Ji You considerately stood on her tiptoes, cooperating with Principal Hong.

Principal Hong smiled, raised his hand to gently pat Ji You’s head, saying: ”Good child.”

”...” Ji You grinned foolishly.

Standing to one side, Principal Hong glanced at her silly look, suddenly asked: ”Having achieved fourth place this time, Ji You, do you have anything to say to everyone?”

Under the gaze of countless pairs of eyes, Ji You thought for a moment, loudly said: ”I do!”

Principal Hong laughed and said: ”Then share your thoughts.”

Ji You looked at the crowd below, the senior brothers and sisters, junior brothers and sisters...then took a deep breath, loudly said: ”My thoughts are—I want to take first place.”

Principal Hong laughed.

The students below also chuckled. The sadness and sorrow, worry that had enveloped everyone...dissipated a bit with Ji You’s bold declaration.

Ji You looked at the crowd below, loudly said: ”Not in the future, but now! From now on, no matter what I do, I will take first place. Fourth place will become part of my personal history!”

Students below: ”...”

She...what is she talking about?

Does she even know what she’s talking about?

Boasting, it’s not done like this.

The wind is strong today, slipped her tongue?

...

In the midst of everyone’s confusion and speechlessness, Ji You remained composed, calmly said: ”I’ve heard a saying—peace is established by martyrs, martyrs never enjoy peace. My 31 senior brothers and sisters, the cute warriors I once saw off at Taoyuan Space Station, and the warriors still guarding the land beneath our feet and the starry sky...I won’t be a martyr, for countless ages, I think there have been enough martyrs, enough...it’s enough! No need to add more. I won’t be a martyr, nor will I allow my comrades, family, friends, lover...to be martyrs! So, I want to be first, I want to be the strongest! I want to protect the starry sea my senior brothers and sisters and all warriors have fought hard for...I’m not joking about first place.”

”Thank you, everyone.” Ji You said, saluting the audience below with a warrior salute.

Beneath the stage, a warm applause arose.

Long and...long...

Long and...long...

Ji You lifted her foot, and at the edge of the stage, prepared to step down the stairs when Principal Hong standing nearby suddenly said: ”You’re not joking? What if you don’t succeed?”

Ji You replied carelessly: ”Then keep striving.”

Principal Hong said: ”Weren’t you boasting about always being first from now on? If you fail, how does that count as first?”

Ji You: ”...”

What the heck?

In such a serious setting, Old Man Hong is nitpicking on semantics?

Ji You’s mouth twitched, said: ”Failing is failing, at most losing face a bit, I’m not afraid of losing face, what do I have to fear losing? Just keep striving, won’t repeated efforts lead to success?”

She signed a debt of 10 trillion, fearing a little embarrassment?

Ji You felt this 10 trillion debt instantly gave her infinite confidence, and added a thick wall to her face...

Whatever, thinking of that 10 trillion doesn’t make her anymore guilty or scared, panicked.

Being one with nothing, you just keep striving when you lose.

Thus, Ji You proudly raised her head, said: ”Principal, you just wait and see, I’ll prove I’m not joking with my actions.”

Principal Hong laughed and said: ”Alright, I’ll wait.”

Ji You: ”Hmph.”

Turning her neck, Ji You jumped off the stage.
