The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1249: Chapter 1249: Know Yourself and Know Your Enemy

In the play of shadows and light, Qu Hongqiang, Principal Qu of the Second Army, flashed an honest, simple smile towards Old Niu, saying, ”Old Niu, I understand what you’re saying, but what’s our relationship like? Why would I pick sides?”

”If I were to mess around with these chaotic things, you could be the first to chop off my head.” Qu Hongqiang deliberately put on a stern face, spoke with a look of anger.

Old Niu thought it over and replied, ”You old man, we’ve been friends for so many years, I’ll choose to believe you.”

Qu Hongqiang said, ”Our only wish in this lifetime—is for the students I lead to beat your First Army and for our Alliance to become the strongest military academy.”

Old Niu scoffed, ”You’re dreaming beautifully.”

Qu Hongqiang chuckled, ”That’s not necessarily the case. Your First Army’s batch of kids might not certainly have more slots for advancement than my Second Army.”

Old Niu blew his beard and glared, ”Has Old Hong gotten arrogant? Have you too? Am I, Old Niu, too gentle lately?”

Speaking, Old Niu squeezed his fingers, creaking...

Qu Hongqiang laughed dumbly, indicating he wouldn’t argue with Old Niu.

...

Meanwhile, Ji You, who was present on the scene, had no idea what was happening inside the tea room. She was leading two teammates given by the new class leader Shaun, one named Li Yun, the other Bai Hui, as the three hurriedly went out to find allies.

The first wave, Ji You arrived at Team 5, and in a few words, secured their consent.

The second wave, Ji You took her crew to the Fourth Team, and in under a few minutes, gained approval.

After that, it was Teams 3, 2, and 1, and Ji You’s strategy was to resolve things swiftly.

Along the way, Li Yun and Bai Hui watched as she scrambled about, and although every squad agreed, they only gave verbal consent without laying out a cooperation plan with their side. Bai Hui couldn’t hold back and said, ”Ji You, shouldn’t we slow down a bit? I feel we’re too rushed, no need to run through so many squads at once.”

Ji You stopped her steps, turned her head to Bai Hui and Li Yun, and said with a smile, ”There’s one thing you don’t know, you must think I’m looking for allies, right?”

Bai Hui was puzzled, ”Isn’t it?”

Li Yun was also completely lost, ”Aren’t we looking for allies?”

”No,” Ji You shook her head with a smile, ”We’re just part-timing at finding allies.”

Bai Hui and Li Yun: ”!!!”

Bai Hui exclaimed incredulously, ”What? We’re just part-timing?”

Ji You, ”Yes.”

Li Yun opened his mouth, ”Then what are we mainly doing? Didn’t she actively suggest to Class Leader Shaun that she wanted to invite teams for an alliance?”

How... how could this change suddenly?

The two were flabbergasted, staring at Ji You.

Ji You showed a perfectly timed smile and said, ”I ask you, if we exert every effort in persuasion and eloquence, how many allies can we find within 30 minutes?”

The two heard this and fell into contemplation.

Bai Hui said, ”Thinking optimistically, I believe we can find 2 squads.”

Their squad’s ace—the signal tower—if not leaked, convincing 2 squads to cooperate is Bai Hui’s idea of the best outcome.

Li Yun bluntly said, ”I think we can at most bring in one, or even fail to get any collaborative allies.”

Though everyone’s in the same faction, they’re competitors after all. No one sincerely wants to cooperate.

Furthermore, during their journey, Li Yun coldly watched Ji You interact with other teams, observing their reactions seemed rather indifferent.

Li Yun insisted on his judgment, ”30 minutes is too short, in the absence of mutual understanding and external factors, we won’t find cooperative allies.”

Ji You smiled and said, ”You’re very insightful. Indeed, that’s the situation, which is why my real goal this trip is not to find allies, but—”

She paused, teasing them.

”What is it?” Bai Hui impatiently asked.

Li Yun stared at Ji You with bright dark eyes.

Ji You laughed and said, ”It’s for the map. To figure out the map of our faction, the distribution of personnel, and other intelligence.”

The two: ”...”

Ji You thought to herself, the words spoken now have not a single punctuation mark to deceive you, each phrase is true.

Thinking this in her heart, Ji You looked at the two, her expression suddenly turning serious, and said, ”Maps of our side and the enemy’s side are equally important. Because to us, they’re both riddles, unknowns.”

Li Yun and Bai Hui realized it suddenly, agreeing wholeheartedly.

Ji You said, ”One must know both oneself and one’s opponent to be undefeated in a hundred battles. Right now, we are completely unaware of the map of our campaign territory, how can we believe we can win?”

Bai Hui opened his mouth, seemingly wanting to argue, but thinking carefully, what she said made perfect sense.

No way to refute.

Bai Hui closed his mouth.

Ji You saw this all and smiled slightly, saying, ”I ask you one question, where do you think the main battlefield in the upcoming war will be?”

The two were stunned in shock.

Ji You said, ”Exactly. We can’t predict beforehand, what if the main battlefield is within our territory?”

Bai Hui clenched his fists and said, ”We don’t even understand our battlefield map, how are we to fight later?”

Li Yun added, ”Timing, terrain, human harmony, all are indispensable. Certainly necessary to go through our entire faction’s territory,”

Ji You showed a student who can be taught look and laughed, ”Our commander might have already ordered someone to do it, but as we trekked, those inspecting our map seemed to work inefficiently; we’ve traveled through seven or eight squads yet haven’t seen them.”

Bai Hui said, ”We’ll do it ourselves.”

Li Yun said, ”Such things, we must have knowledge of ourselves.”

Ji You heard this, feeling very gratified with a hint of excitement, saying, ”Brothers, next we’ll run a bit faster, instead we’ll divide tasks, each of the three of us handling one direction, Li Yun, you’ll manage the sky and surrounding special terrain and environment. Bai Hui, keep an eye mainly on the inner state, personnel, specialties, presence of special devices of other squads in our faction...”

Li Yun and Bai Hui firmly nodded, ”Don’t worry, leave it to me.”

”No problem, I will carefully observe.”

”Mm. And I will focus on negotiations, if we can finalize cooperation in one go, even better.” Ji You looked at the two seriously and praised, ”The three of us, combining strong forces, as long as attentive, we will definitely obtain the information we want.

Go for it!

Charge forward!” Ji You clenched her fist, ”Victory belongs to us!”

”Belongs to us!”

The two exerted themselves grasping their fists, saying, ”Mm! Absolutely!”

Ji You’s slogans are indeed loudly shouted, and somehow possesses an enchanting power that made people unwittingly gain trust in this girl!

Therefore, Li Yun and Bai Hui instantly urged, ”Let’s go, we should hurry to scout around the camp.”

Ji You smiled, ”Alright.”
