The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1239: Chapter 1239: Win by Lying Down

Your own teammate, being ostracized?

As Ji You lifted her foot to leave, she had already anticipated this. She thought about it and felt that if she put herself in the shoes of an average person, they would certainly exclude their own people from the core temporarily, because the stakes were high. Plus, they hadn’t done anything completely reassuring yet, so Shaun’s actions made perfect sense from both an emotional and logical standpoint.

When she’s not present, she can’t control the whole situation, and if any unexpected event occurs, the true identities of her group could easily be exposed. Thus, Shaun sidelining He Yu, Liu Jia, and the others was actually a good thing, as it reduced the attention and scrutiny they received once they were no longer in the spotlight.

Pretty good.

So when Ji You left, her steps were uncharacteristically lighthearted, not worried at all; in fact, she felt quite happy, like a child who had just been allowed out, skipping along briskly.

...

At this moment.

Outside the screen.

Each student had their own dedicated screen, every squad had a dedicated screen, and each faction also had a dedicated screen... The audience gathered on the Star Network to watch this live broadcast had already reached millions upon millions. Among all the screens, the one with the highest attention was undoubtedly the one Ji You was on, followed by Shen Sheng, Chu Jiaojiao, Sheng Qingyan, Wei Xiaoxiong, Li Jiu...

...

Meanwhile, at the top right corner of every screen, there was a very prominent points leaderboard. At this moment, the first place on that leaderboard was firmly held by Ji You, who single-handedly secured 4 points!

In other words, shortly after the official match had begun, she had already taken down 4 enemies by herself.

This number was indeed an outstanding figure.

Ranking second was Shen Sheng, with a kill count of 3.

Ranking third, to everyone’s surprise, was neither Chu Jiaojiao, nor Shen Changqing, Wei Xiaoxiong, or Li Jiu... not any of those from the Alliance First Military Academy or prominent families...

This person was——

——Liu Fufeng.

Kill count: 2.

Who is Liu Fufeng?

Prior to this, no one knew him, recognized him, or had even heard of his name. He seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, like a hidden master, completely unknown.

Yet!

The competition had not long started, and this person had already taken down 2 enemies!

With 2 kills, temporarily ranking third on the points leaderboard! His rank was high, and his performance was exceedingly impressive. However——

What utterly shocked everyone was not his kill count or his high ranking but his ridiculous stroke of luck!

That’s right.

Ridiculous luck!

This guy managed to secure 2 kills and 2 points, not because he was exceptionally skilled or did anything earth-shattering, but purely due to his good fortune.

This student Liu Fufeng, aside from having too exquisite an appearance, was otherwise very ordinary. Upon entering, he was given the identity of a regular team member, and then he had particularly bad luck because the squad leader of his team was an aggressive type. The leader immediately led his team, launching a massive attack on the enemy camp, with a very brash and reckless style, leading the charge with no concealment or strategy, just one word: bold!

The leader charged the enemy head-on, leading the assault!

After the charge and attack, they harvested a few kills but also lost a few members in the process; overall, this was definitely a fight where they killed a thousand enemies while losing eight hundred of their own, with nothing to showcase.

In the intense battle, as a feeble chicken unnoticed in the team, Liu Fufeng’s performance was entirely consistent with his status and image—so weak that no one considered him a combat opponent right away.

And so, Liu Fufeng lingered for half an hour, but with swords and arrows having no eyes, several times arrows and stones, and blades... nearly hit Liu Fufeng, almost ending his participation.

Yet——

Thanks to his ridiculous luck, every time it seemed dangerous, he miraculously escaped danger, and this time was no different.

Swish swish~

Swish swish~

Swish swish~

...

A faint rustling sound was heard in the air, probably the sound made when piercing the air resistance. Liu Fufeng stood dumbfounded in the middle of the field when suddenly an arrow came whizzing toward him, aimed straight at his forehead!!

Danger!

Just as everyone was thinking this, the stupefied Liu Fufeng suddenly collapsed to the ground.

Perfectly dodged the flying arrow.

The next moment, the arrow grazed Liu Fufeng’s forehead, shooting straight past, embedding into a large stone crack beside him. The audience was all taken aback, before they could gasp at his luck, they saw Liu Fufeng, as he fell to the ground, unknowingly land on top of someone lying on the ground, who was already foaming at the mouth and clearly nearly gone.

”???” Liu Fufeng was utterly stunned, staring blankly at the weak enemy beside him, contemplating for not even 3 seconds, before he suddenly reached out, tentatively patting the opponent’s body.

Then——

System: [Successfully killed one person, points earned: +1.]

Audience: ”...”

Liu Fufeng: ”...”

The audience bit their lips hard: ”What the hell, so what did we just witness?”

”Effortlessly scored a point?”

”Are points so worthless now?”

”I must’ve been seeing things, didn’t catch what happened?”

”How could just a pat kill someone?”

”With so many people watching, it’s impossible to fake it, right?”

...

Just as the audience tried to convince themselves with plausible explanations, they saw Liu Fufeng, upon hearing that the enemy had perished, suddenly staggered and fell to the ground.

Then——

Just his luck, Liu Fufeng sat right on another fallen enemy soldier from the enemy camp.

And then.

System: [Successfully killed 1 more, added 1 point.]

Everyone: ”...”

So this is what it means to win while lying down?

The onlookers were at a loss for words. Knowing that he had inexplicably secured an additional 2 points, Liu Fufeng didn’t dare to linger longer in the fight and hastily retreated with the main force...

During the retreat, Liu Fufeng didn’t score any more points with his absurd luck, but he did manage to stumble back to the base, seemingly dangerous but ultimately safe.

points.

Even the squad leader who led the charge only secured one point, yet this seemingly weak chicken, Liu Fufeng, managed to score points and return alive!

The squad leader felt quite complicated inside.

The teammates felt rather complicated inside.

The audience outside the screen was also very complex inside.

Liu Fufeng himself didn’t see anything wrong, but he noticed a change in the way his teammates looked at him:

——Why are your eyes so wide?
