Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

”It’s true.” Quentin Blackwood’s tone was incredibly casual, yet his words struck Silas Blackwood’s heart like a sledgehammer.

A chill ran through Silas Blackwood.

’When did it start between Uncle and Ivy Sherwood?’

’How could the two of them possibly be together? Even though I’ve found so many clues, I never imagined Uncle would even look at Ivy Sherwood.’

’She was my woman! His own nephew’s fiancée! How could Uncle do this?!’

By the time he snapped out of it, Quentin Blackwood was already gone.

Silas Blackwood chased after him. ”When did it start? Back at the resort, was Ivy Sherwood staying with you?”

Connecting the dots, Silas Blackwood now felt like he was wearing a giant green hat.

’That bitch Ivy Sherwood!’

’Can’t she live without a man? If she can’t have me, she’ll just go seduce someone else!’

Quentin Blackwood ignored him, but Silas Blackwood was relentless. ”Why? Why would you do this? Are you just trying to get back at me? Because I bullied you when we were kids, you decided to punish me this way? You knew Ivy Sherwood was going to marry me, so you slept with her first?”

’That must be it,’ Silas Blackwood thought. ’This has to be Quentin Blackwood’s plan for revenge.’

Quentin Blackwood stopped in his tracks. His dark eyes stared at Silas, cold and indifferent, as if he didn’t even see him as a person.

”You’re overthinking it. What’s between Ivy Sherwood and me has nothing to do with you.”

Whether it was the first time or any time after, he and Ivy Sherwood were together because of their physical compatibility, never because she was Silas Blackwood’s fiancée.

Whether or not she was Silas Blackwood’s fiancée was of no importance to Quentin Blackwood.

Besides, if he wanted revenge on Silas Blackwood, he wouldn’t stoop to such a low-class tactic.

”Impossible! You must just be playing around with Ivy Sherwood, right? You have so many women around you. Ivy is just one of them, isn’t she?”

Silas Blackwood asked this deliberately, his hand tightening around the phone in his lowered grasp.

The phone’s screen was off, but it was recording.

’As long as Quentin Blackwood answers, I’ll play the clip for Ivy Sherwood when I get back.’

Quentin Blackwood’s eyes darkened, his displeasure evident on his face.

”Is it because Ivy Sherwood seems conservative but is actually really wild, so much so that you can overlook that face of hers? That makes sense. She must have her tricks to be able to seduce you. So you two have been doing things behind my back for a long time. And here Ivy was, acting like some virtuous martyr in front of me.”

”Sleeping with your nephew’s fiancée must feel great, right? A real thrill? The two of you ganged up to cuckold me. If you can have her, why can’t I?”

The moment Silas Blackwood’s words left his mouth, a fist came flying straight at his face.

The blow was powerful. Silas Blackwood’s leg was already weak, and he was knocked straight to the ground. He clutched his eye.

Quentin Blackwood stood over him, radiating the ultimate aura of a superior.

”Filthy people think filthy thoughts. I don’t usually resort to violence unless someone is asking to die.”

Silas Blackwood didn’t rush to get up. ”Uncle, you’re getting so worked up. Did I hit a nerve?”

Quentin’s eyes narrowed, full of oppressive force.

The man’s thin lips moved. ”You’re not worthy.”

”Did Ivy Sherwood seduce you on purpose? I’ll be honest with you, she used to like me. It was only because she saw me with Anna Nash, and with other women on the side, that she came looking for you. You’re just my replacement.”

Quentin Blackwood scoffed as if he’d just heard a joke. ”You? As my replacement? I’d say you’re not even qualified for that.”

”Silas Blackwood, for the sake of you being my nephew, I suggest you take a good look at yourself. Ivy Sherwood has never liked you, and you have never had her.”

”You just got lucky at birth and became a young master. In reality, you are nothing.”

Quentin Blackwood’s words were incredibly cutting, completely grinding Silas Blackwood’s pride into the dust.

”What right do you have to say I’m nothing?”

”Then what do you have?”

Quentin Blackwood’s question stopped Silas Blackwood cold. What *did* he have?

”I have money and power! I have everything! I’m the young master of the Blackwood family. I can have whatever I want.”

”Your money and your power, did you earn them yourself? Take away the title of ’Young Master of the Blackwood family,’ and does anyone even know who you are?” Quentin Blackwood said with disdain. ”How did a sly old fox like Caleb Blackwood raise such a stupid son?”

”Quentin Blackwood, you...” Silas Blackwood bit his lip so hard it could have bled, his eyes like those of a wolf wanting to leap forward and tear Quentin to pieces.

But even with Quentin Blackwood just standing there, Silas Blackwood didn’t dare to move.

”If you don’t want to be thrown out, then get lost on your own.” Quentin Blackwood had had a long day and was tired. He had no desire to look at something like Silas Blackwood.

Silas Blackwood remained sitting on the ground, only able to watch as Quentin Blackwood went inside.

’It’s not like that! I’m not just some rich young master, I can do a lot of things too!’ Quentin Blackwood’s words still echoed in Silas Blackwood’s mind.

His fists clenched, his body trembling with rage.

’Why does Quentin Blackwood get to have everything? Whether it’s that beautiful woman he likes, or Ivy Sherwood.’

’Why do they all like Quentin Blackwood? Doesn’t he have tons of women too? Does Ivy Sherwood not care?’

’And they all look down on me! One day, I’ll prove myself to Quentin Blackwood, to Ivy Sherwood, to everyone!’

In the middle of the night, Ivy Sherwood received a text message from a different number. It was also from Silas Blackwood, using another line.

”Ivy, I’ve already spoken with my uncle. I don’t know what sweet nothings he’s whispered to you, but to my face, he said he’s just playing around with you.”

He had originally tried to record their conversation, but he hadn’t managed to capture anything useful.

”You should know if you think about it. Look at who he is, and then look at what you are. You should stop daydreaming. Take my offer while I haven’t changed my mind and am still willing to marry you. Otherwise, a woman like you who’s been slept with... no respectable wealthy family will take you.”

Ivy Sherwood wasn’t asleep yet. Reading his words, she felt her blood pressure spike from sheer anger.

’So Silas Blackwood went to find Quentin Blackwood?’

Ivy Sherwood didn’t know what Quentin Blackwood had said, but Silas...

’What century is this? Is Silas Blackwood still living in the dark ages?’

She had no idea what gave Silas Blackwood the right to be so high and mighty. Could men really just mess around and have countless women on the side, while a woman should be shamed and insulted the moment she did anything?

”Whether or not anyone wants me is none of your business. A piece of trash like you... shouldn’t you be castrated? If you can go on living just fine, I’m sure I’ll live an even better life than you.”

After sending the message, Ivy Sherwood blocked that number too.

’Silas Blackwood actually went to confront Quentin Blackwood. I have no idea what goes on in that head of his.’

’I wonder if he said anything outrageous to Quentin Blackwood.’

Actually, she didn’t even have to guess. Ivy Sherwood knew his mind was full of all sorts of filthy garbage. He thought only he was allowed to play around with women, but he couldn’t tolerate the slightest bit of disloyalty towards himself.

He thought the whole world should revolve around him, that he could kick away whatever he didn’t want and that he had to have whatever he desired.
