Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

As Ivy Sherwood was walking from the elevator to the entrance, the receptionist, who was already in a panic, called out to her, ”Miss Sherwood.”

Ivy Sherwood looked back at her. ’Isn’t this the same receptionist who wouldn’t let me in earlier?’

”Yes?”

”I’m so sorry about before. I know I was in the wrong. This job is very important to me, so I hope you can be the bigger person and forgive me this one time.”

She had already heard bits and pieces of what happened upstairs.

Some of the other junior secretaries were working overtime today, and as it happened, she was best friends with one of them.

Her best friend had told her that Ivy Sherwood went straight into the board meeting. Not long after, all the other directors came out, leaving only the chairman and Ivy in the conference room.

They only overheard the other directors saying Young Master Blackwood was a fool for actually transferring his shares. It seemed this woman was really one of the shareholders, and a major one at that.

This sent the receptionist into a full-blown panic. She had actually offended a shareholder, and on top of that, she heard this was Young Master Blackwood’s fiancée.

The receptionist felt like her career was over. Who would have thought that such an ordinary-looking woman would turn out to be so important?

If she had known beforehand, she never would have acted that way.

Ivy Sherwood looked at her. ”Alright, I’ll give you another chance. I hope that in the future, you’ll be a little more polite to everyone and stop judging people by their appearance.”

”I will, I definitely will!” the receptionist promised cheerfully.

Nina Scott’s car was still parked nearby. Ivy Sherwood planned to go tell her the good news.

But before she could get there, she saw Silas Blackwood chasing after her from behind.

”Ivy Sherwood!” Silas Blackwood yelled from behind her.

”Can you just listen to me for a second? Aren’t you just upset about Anna Nash? I already told you, I have nothing to do with her anymore.”

Hearing Silas Blackwood’s voice, Ivy Sherwood started to run faster.

As if a ghost were chasing her, Ivy quickly got into Nina Scott’s car. ”Drive, quick, drive!”

If Silas Blackwood caught up to her, he’d be impossible to shake off.

Silas Blackwood was acting crazy, and she had no idea what wire got crossed in his head for him to suddenly say he wouldn’t annul the engagement.

But Ivy Sherwood didn’t pay it any mind. Silas Blackwood was never the one who called the shots in the Blackwood family.

Nina Scott saw Silas Blackwood too and quickly drove off. He chased after them, but there was no way he could catch up.

”Ivy, how did it go?”

Ivy Sherwood answered happily, ”Caleb Blackwood agreed.”

”Really? That’s great!” Nina Scott was happy for Ivy, too. She knew that annulling the engagement was what Ivy wanted most.

”But didn’t he refuse no matter what before? Why would he agree so readily this time? You don’t think there’s a catch, do you?” Nina felt it was too good to be true.

Ivy said, ”I’m a little unsure myself, but he said he’ll make a public announcement. If they publicly announce the annulment, they can’t possibly force me to marry him anymore, right?”

”Well, let’s not worry about that now. News this good definitely calls for a celebration. How about we go for a drink tonight?” Nina suggested.

Ivy said, ”My throat still hurts. If I have a few drinks, this cold will never get better.”

”That’s true. But are we really not going to celebrate something this huge?”

”Of course we’re celebrating! I’ll treat you to something delicious!” Ivy was undoubtedly the happiest of them all.

”Okay!”

Nina Scott drove to a restaurant, and the two of them had a wonderful meal.

「...」

Silas Blackwood watched the direction Ivy had left in, clenching his fists helplessly.

’Ivy must still be concerned about Anna Nash. Once I’ve dealt with Anna, I’ll find another chance to explain things clearly to Ivy.’

He had faith in his own charm. He had plenty of ways to woo a woman; there wasn’t one who wouldn’t be swayed.

For now, he had to go deal with Anna Nash first!

If it weren’t for Anna Nash using her birthday as an excuse to lure him into a hotel room and then calling the media, none of this would be happening.

If Anna hadn’t later tried to hire someone to take pictures of Ivy, Ivy wouldn’t have been able to outsmart her and get pictures of Quentin Blackwood. Consequently, Quentin wouldn’t have been schemed out of so many shares, which ultimately gave Ivy the leverage she needed to demand an annulment.

And now this business with the baby today... He, the once-envied heir of the Blackwood family, the great Young Master Blackwood, was now nothing more than a cheating scumbag online.

And he had Anna Nash to thank for all of it.

Thinking of this, Silas Blackwood gritted his teeth in hatred.

Neither Anna Nash nor the child in her belly could be allowed to remain!

Silas Blackwood knew he would have to face his father’s wrath when he returned, but right now, he had to go take care of Anna Nash. At the very least, that child absolutely had to go!

Silas Blackwood stormed into the hospital, his fury so intense it felt like he could tear the whole place down.

”Where’s Anna Nash? Which room is she in?” Silas Blackwood slammed his hand on the desk, making the nurses tremble in fear.

The nurses had confidentiality agreements and naturally didn’t dare to say anything. However, some other people in the hospital had watched the livestream and knew what was going on. Always happy to watch drama unfold, one of them pointed Silas Blackwood in the right direction.

Silas Blackwood kicked the door to the hospital room open, only to find it completely empty. Anna Nash was nowhere to be seen.

”Where’s Anna Nash!”

The young nurses had no idea, so it was useless for Silas Blackwood to give them a hard time.

Anna Nash had already planned her escape right after the livestream ended. She knew that after such a huge incident, the Blackwood family would not let her off the hook. They would not let her keep this child.

Especially if Caleb Blackwood got involved, she might not even make it out alive. So she had to run and wait for the right moment to reappear.

Anna Nash had escaped. Silas Blackwood was about to explode with rage. When he found her, he would tear her limb from limb!

Since Anna Nash had chosen to take this step, she had naturally made thorough preparations. She had already secured an escape route for herself and, with Gideon Gordon’s help, had gone into hiding.

Gideon Gordon took a drag from his cigarette and looked at Anna Nash. ”So now, you’re just planning to stay in hiding?”

”Of course not. This is only temporary.”

Gideon Gordon said, ”After all this, not only will Silas Blackwood not marry you, he’ll want you dead.”

Anna Nash stared ahead, her eyes filled with determination. ”Of course I know that. And I have a way to make it so he has no choice but to marry me.”

The secret that Silas Blackwood can’t have children... perhaps even he himself doesn’t know about it, which means the Blackwood family is even less likely to know.

’What if, at this critical moment, Silas Blackwood has some kind of accident... one that leaves him unable to father a child ever again?’

’Wouldn’t that make the child in my belly the only heir to the Blackwood family?’

She refused to believe he wouldn’t marry her then. She would hold all the cards.

She had already come this far. Her plan was on the verge of success.

’The title of Mrs. Blackwood... I’m destined to have it!’

Anna Nash beckoned to Gideon Gordon with her finger. ”There’s one more thing I need you to do for me. Don’t worry, once I become Mrs. Blackwood, what’s mine is yours.”

Gideon Gordon stubbed out his cigarette and leaned down. Anna Nash whispered her plan into his ear.
