Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

Ivy Sherwood was remarkably calm as she watched.

”Ivy, how are you not angry at all?”

”What’s the use of being angry? I’d only be hurting myself. It’s best to just watch it like a joke.” Ivy was taking it all in stride.

Besides, she had a good idea of what Anna Nash would say, ever since she’d set this trap for her.

’She had to admit she’d been a poor judge of character. She used to think Anna was pitiful, and that if she could just help her, Anna might escape her family situation and build a better life.’

’Who knew it would turn out to be a real-life version of ”The Farmer and the Viper”? The farmer warms the snake and saves its life, only to be bitten in return.’

Anna Nash’s livestream caused another huge stir online, with some people supporting her and others tearing her down.

During Ivy’s previous livestream, Anna had admitted to seducing Silas after he was already engaged. Now she was claiming she knew him from before. Wasn’t that a blatant contradiction?

Someone dug into Anna Nash’s background and found her family wasn’t well-off at all. And Ivy Sherwood’s family? Did she really need Anna to give her money?

Anna Nash’s story was riddled with holes. On top of that, her two-faced, manipulative act was rubbing a lot of people the wrong way.

Netizens these days aren’t idiots; they don’t just believe everything they’re told. It was Anna who had used those photos of herself in bed with Silas to scheme against Ivy. She’d even tried on a wedding dress with him. The numerous photos of them in bed were undeniable facts.

Ivy Sherwood could back her claims up with evidence. But Anna? What could she offer besides her crocodile tears?

This two-faced act was something many people hated, and the internet was flooded with insults. Seeing so many people calling Anna out, Nina Scott finally felt a bit of satisfaction.

”What on earth is she trying to accomplish? Apologizing to you? Playing the victim for sympathy?” Nina Scott still didn’t get it.

But Ivy just smiled. ”I’m the one who told her to livestream. I’m the one who told her to apologize to me.”

”What?” Nina Scott was completely lost now. ”Ivy, why would you do that? If you let her livestream, you know she’s not going to say anything nice.”

Ivy said, ”She’s pregnant.”

”Huh?” Nina Scott’s eyes went wide.

”Whose baby is it? Silas Blackwood’s?”

Ivy shook her head. ”I don’t know. Maybe. But that’s not the important part.”

It dawned on Nina. ”I get it now, Ivy! You want her to announce the pregnancy during the livestream, putting the Blackwood family in an impossible position so they have to call off the engagement, right?”

”I never would have guessed, Ivy. I thought you were a harmless little bunny, but you’re actually a big bad wolf.”

’If Anna was pregnant, she would definitely fight to keep her baby. An illegitimate child right before the wedding? It would be perfectly justifiable for Ivy to refuse to go through with the marriage.’

Ivy didn’t deny it. ’This was all part of the plan. Anna shouldn’t be stupid enough to announce her pregnancy directly to the media. After all, Ivy had given her a way to do it just yesterday. Anna had better not disappoint her.’

After watching for another moment, Nina pointed at the screen. ”What part of the plan is this? Hey, Anna Nash just fainted!”

She had fainted, but the livestream didn’t stop. In fact, some reporters were even taking her to the hospital.

The broadcast continued uninterrupted on the way to the hospital.

This continuous broadcast was, of course, arranged by Anna herself. It was part of her plan.

The reporters didn’t stop their streams either. After all, the view count was through the roof. It didn’t matter to them whether the comments were filled with insults or sympathy; all they cared about was the traffic.

Anna Nash was rushed into the emergency room. The reporters didn’t dare to film openly in the hospital for fear of disturbing other patients, so they switched to a phone and continued broadcasting discreetly.

Before long, the emergency room doors opened, and Anna was moved to a regular hospital room.

Anna woke up, her face pale, and looked at the doctor. ”Doctor, what’s wrong with me?”

The doctor glanced at the rather suspicious people in the room and asked, ”Where is your family?”

Anna bit her lip and shook her head. ”I don’t have any family. Doctor, am I seriously ill? Just tell me. I can handle it.”

”Don’t worry, you’re just pregnant. You fainted from malnutrition. You need to be more careful about what you eat during pregnancy. Have your boyfriend take better care of you.”

Since it was all being livestreamed, everyone heard the doctor’s words. The viewers went wild, flooding the screen with comments.

Anna’s expression was one of pure shock, as if she were hearing the news for the very first time.

She immediately called Silas Blackwood. He wasn’t watching the livestream and hadn’t seen Anna in a while. When he saw her name, he recalled that his words last time had been a bit harsh. After a moment’s hesitation, he answered. ”Hello?”

”Silas, I... I’m pregnant,” Anna said, her face breaking into a blissful smile. ”I’m pregnant with our baby.”

Her words were an undeniable confirmation that the child was Silas Blackwood’s. The netizens didn’t have to guess anymore.

The online discussion exploded: ”It’s Silas Blackwood’s kid! What about Ivy Sherwood? With things like this, the Blackwood family can’t possibly force her to go through with the wedding, can they?”

”Knowing how these rich families operate, they’ll probably get rid of Anna’s baby, call it an ’accident,’ and have the wedding go on as planned. Poor Ivy, she’s seriously the unluckiest person I’ve ever seen.”

”He’s got an illegitimate kid before he’s even married. If they actually get married, he’ll probably have enough to form a soccer team.”

”Men just can’t keep it in their pants. His parents will definitely have to step in and clean up the mess. This Anna probably just wants money. There’s nothing money can’t solve for them, right? I’m gonna puke. That scumbag and that shameless woman are a match made in hell!”

”I’m with Ivy on this one. Call off the engagement! The Blackwoods need to let that poor girl go. What did Ivy ever do to them, dig up their ancestors’ graves in a past life?”

The internet was in an absolute frenzy, and Silas Blackwood was the only one completely in the dark.

He was stunned. ”What did you say?”

”I said I’m carrying your baby. We have a baby, Silas,” Anna repeated, her face beaming.

’And it’s all thanks to Ivy,’ she thought. ’If Ivy hadn’t told me to apologize yesterday, I never would have come up with such a brilliant plan.’

”Are you sure? Did you get a proper examination? Where are you?” A hint of panic crept into Silas’s voice.

’He’d never imagined Anna could get pregnant. They had used protection.’

”I’m at the hospital right now. Ivy Sherwood told me to apologize, so I did it in front of the media. Then I collapsed from exhaustion, and I think they were the ones who brought me here.”

”What? You apologized in front of the media? Who told you to do that? Anna, are you insane!?” Silas exploded with rage. ’Anna actually dared to get the media involved? Does she have no idea what she’s getting into?’

’The media are like sharks; once they smell blood, they never let go. They took Anna to the hospital... if they find out she’s pregnant, it’s all over.’

’So... does that mean everyone knows already?’

Silas scrambled to get online. He finally understood what his father had been trying to tell him. At that moment, he wanted nothing more than to strangle Anna Nash.
