Reborn As Super Heiress

However, Zhang Chao skipped the meeting he had arranged over the phone with someone to meet at the Fucheng People’s Hospital three hours later.

Perhaps he felt it wasn’t very important because he didn’t take the call seriously at all and didn’t consider the scammer’s words credible.

However, his former head teacher had a big reaction upon hearing this, urgently saying:

”What, the scammer even found someone else, these people are utterly despicable!”

”No, we can’t just let it go like this. Xiao Chao, send me the numbers of the two scammers who called you today. I have a friend who’s a police officer, and we must have the police investigate and bring these two scammers to justice!”

Zhang Chao was somewhat speechless, not expecting his casual remark would make the head teacher so anxious and seem determined to blow the matter up.

”Teacher, there’s no need for that, is there? Besides, the scammers didn’t manage to trick me into anything.”

But the head teacher spoke with a sense of righteousness: ”That’s true, but it’s because you’re clever and won’t be easily fooled, but it might not be the same for others! This new scam is very hard to guard against, and only the police can promptly curb it, or more people will fall victim!”

The head teacher’s words left Zhang Chao speechless, so he had to agree: ”Alright, I’ll send you those two phone numbers right away.”

Soon, the former head teacher received the two phone numbers sent by Zhang Chao. After receiving them, she was about to call her police friend, but her hand stopped before dialing, and her gaze fixed on the two sets of numbers Zhang Chao sent.

Besides being a head teacher, she was also a math teacher with a good memory, especially sensitive to numbers. The first number Zhang Chao sent didn’t ring any bells, but the second one made her slightly stir, seeming very familiar as if she had seen it somewhere.

The head teacher felt puzzled. She recalled Zhang Chao mentioning these numbers were from the Imperial Capital, but she seemed to have no family or friends there. Why did this number feel so familiar?

Frowning, she brainstormed but couldn’t recall where she had seen the number. She ended up not making the call, simply jotting down the number and stared at it intently.

Just at this moment, someone walked into the office—the history teacher for the sophomore year. Once seated, he picked up the day’s newspaper and began browsing through it. Upon seeing a familiar name in the headline, the history teacher excitedly slammed the table and laughed:

”Haha, it’s such great news! After so many years, two more Beast Heads have returned to the country. That woman named Huo Sining is really impressive!”

The speaker was unintentional, but the listener was aware. The history teacher’s remark made the head teacher tremble, particularly the name Huo Sining, which flashed in her mind, illuminating like dawn breaking, making the head teacher instantly enlightened.

”I know now! I was wondering where I’d seen this number!”

The head teacher, realizing like a sudden revelation, was incredibly excited. Eagerly, she turned on the office’s desktop computer, quickly logging into her Weibo, and searched for ”Huo Sining” in the search bar.

Soon, she clicked on Huo Sining’s official verified Weibo, with Huo Sining’s photos and bio quickly appearing on the homepage. Especially the line in the introduction caught the head teacher’s eye, leaving her shocked and stunned:

——For performance endorsement-related work, please contact Mr. Liu Cheng, phone number 135********, serious inquiries only.

Because of the Spring Festival Gala the year before, Huo Sining skyrocketed to fame. The head teacher, due to ”The Mermaid Princess’s Tribute” magic, became one of Huo Sining’s casual fans, secretly following Huo Sining’s Weibo. Although unlike other star-chasers who checked Huo Sining’s news daily, she had visited Huo Sining’s Weibo homepage.

Therefore, she had seen this line before and knew Huo Sining hadn’t signed with an agency but had an agent.

Because of this, the head teacher had a slight impression of Liu Cheng’s phone number, so when she saw the text from Zhang Chao, it felt familiar.

But the head teacher never expected that the phone number Zhang Chao sent her actually matched with Huo Sining’s agent’s number!

In disbelief and fearing she made a mistake, she carefully verified each digit, confirming the fact that this number belonged to Huo Sining’s agent, Liu Cheng!

Since this number was real, then the previous call purportedly from Huo Sining must be genuine too!

!!!

At this moment, the head teacher’s eyes widened, her eyeballs almost popping out!

She never expected that Huo Sining actually personally called her student, and what made her regret was both she and Zhang Chao treated them as scammers, speaking rudely and clearly offending them!

Although she didn’t understand why Huo Sining called Zhang Chao, the head teacher recalled the situation during the hospital call. Zhang Chao seemed to have helped Huo Sining significantly, as mentioned by Li Long and Xie Qiang.

The head teacher knew Huo Sining was well-off, and more importantly, she had a charity organization called Beauty Fund that helped impoverished people. If Zhang Chao indeed helped Huo Sining significantly, considering her generosity, she surely wouldn’t stand by knowing Zhang Chao’s situation, but would extend a helping hand.

Thinking this, the head teacher grew anxious, hurriedly picking up her phone to call Zhang Chao back, intending to inform him of this startling discovery and urge him to apologize to Miss Huo.

But this time, no matter how she called, Zhang Chao didn’t seem to hear it, and none of her calls were answered.
