Reborn As Super Heiress

Seeing the situation, Zhang Chao couldn’t help but furrow his brows.

He placed the teacup on the table, looking at the two odd-acting individuals. Finally, he couldn’t hold back and directly asked:

”Aunt, what are you doing?”

His aunt seemed somewhat displeased with Zhang Chao’s question and turned to glare at him. Seeing Boss Jiang glance over, she quickly changed her expression and, with a hint of playful reproach, said:

”You, child, are really being reckless. You decided to sell the house on your own, does your father know about this? If it weren’t for me having a friend who happens to work at a real estate agency, I wouldn’t even know you sold the house. Such a big matter, why didn’t you discuss it with your aunt?”

Zhang Chao was stunned for a moment, then his heart sank, sensing an ominous feeling.

His aunt, who had always acted only for self-interest, suddenly coming to his home with such passion, was certainly problematic.

He couldn’t help but smile lightly and said, ”What’s there to discuss? When I called you this morning, Aunt, weren’t you saying you were busy with a business deal? I thought you were busy, so I didn’t want to bother you with such small matters. Besides, the house is under my name now, so it’s up to me to decide how to handle it. What does it matter if my dad knows or not?”

His aunt was shocked upon hearing this, and with a somewhat incredulous look, she asked Zhang Chao, ”What did you say? The house is in your name now?”

Zhang Chao thought to himself that it was just as he expected, yet he became even calmer on the surface. He raised his head to look at his aunt:

”What’s strange about that? My dad’s health isn’t good, and he’s afraid that he might accidentally pass away, so he wanted to leave me something to rely on. He transferred the house to me a few months ago. Is there a problem with that, Aunt?”

His aunt felt both shocked and furious, upset at her brother’s autonomy, yet unable to say anything on the surface. She could only force a smile and said:

”No problem, no problem, your dad loves his son, Aunt wouldn’t say there’s a problem. But what he did is a bit selfish, only thinking of you. Why didn’t he think about your grandparents? If he passes away, what would happen to your grandparents?”

Zhang Chao was truly disgusted by his aunt’s words. After his dad fell seriously ill, none of his relatives, including his grandparents, ever came to visit. And now, to speak of family affection, doesn’t his aunt find it laughable?

”Aunt, if you have something to say, just say it. My dad is still in the hospital waiting for me to take care of him. If there’s nothing else, I won’t keep you any longer.”

Zhang Chao really had no patience to put on an act with this hypocritical aunt of his, so he directly issued an eviction notice.

Sure enough, as soon as he said this, his aunt’s face turned sour, and the look of anger even flashed in her eyes. Though she quickly masked it, Zhang Chao still saw it clearly.

”You child, there are guests here, and yet you’re in such a hurry to drive people away. Is this how you treat guests? Fine, Aunt won’t beat around the bush with you. Aren’t you selling the house? This Boss Jiang is an old acquaintance of your Aunt, and he happens to be looking to buy a house, so Aunt brought him over to take a look. Boss Jiang has money on hand and certainly won’t treat you unfairly.”

Perhaps considering the potential benefit, his aunt suppressed her anger and didn’t openly confront him.

If his aunt had brought someone to view the house yesterday, Zhang Chao might have believed that his aunt was genuinely thinking about his interests. But the phone calls from earlier today allowed Zhang Chao to see the true faces of his relatives. Regarding his aunt, he was filled with even more precaution and suspicion, so he wasn’t moved by her words about not treating him unfairly.

”Aunt, even among close kin, business is business. Moreover, selling a house is a big deal. If Boss Jiang wants to buy the house, that’s fine. I’ve already listed the house with an agency. You can have him talk to the agency, I’ve already discussed the requirements with them.”

”You foolish child, leaving a house for the agency to sell still requires paying them a commission. Can’t you calculate this deal? Aunt brought someone over, you can directly negotiate with Boss Jiang, why even bother with an agency?”

Zhang Family’s Young Aunt saw Zhang Chao’s stubbornness and felt a bit anxious, raising her voice by a few decibels.

Zhang Chao glanced at Boss Jiang and said, ”Alright, you know why I’m selling this house, Aunt, and Boss Jiang should understand too. If you really want to buy my house, that’s fine—fifty thousand, I want full payment, and it must be made in a single installment.”

As soon as Zhang Chao said this, Zhang Family’s Young Aunt’s face instantly changed: ”Fifty thousand, and you want it in one payment? Xiao Chao, have you gone crazy wanting money?”

Zhang Chao sneered, ”Aunt, you just told Boss Jiang that my family’s house is in the best location in Fucheng City. Though two bedrooms and a living room aren’t big, it’s over eighty square meters. I think the price is quite reasonable.”

The expression on Zhang Family’s Young Aunt turned livid, and even Boss Jiang’s face looked displeased, his gaze turning cold as he stared at Zhang Chao:

”This is a second-hand house, and you should know why you’re selling it. If you don’t sell it to me, I’m afraid it’ll be difficult to sell in the short term. Plus, I heard your dad is still in the intensive care unit. If you don’t sell the house within a week, you won’t be able to come up with the money for the surgery, and your dad’s life will be in jeopardy!”

Boss Jiang’s words were clearly threatening, and upon hearing them, Zhang Chao’s heart sank, his pupils constricting as he suddenly looked up at this unfamiliar middle-aged man.

Zhang Chao wasn’t stupid. He could tell this man had an unusual background, or else his aunt wouldn’t be so fawning over him. Yet now, this person was using such means to threaten him.

Zhang Chao knew that this man wasn’t lying. If he refused to sell the house to this Jiang, this man might intervene behind the scenes and make his house impossible to sell.

To gather the money for his father’s surgery, Zhang Chao knew he couldn’t afford to offend this man. However, he felt furious at Jiang’s despicable tactics and refused to compromise.

Thus, he couldn’t help but chuckle coldly and said, ”You don’t need to worry about this, Boss Jiang. Fifty thousand is the non-negotiable price. If you think it’s reasonable, we can trade now. Otherwise, let’s not discuss it.”
