Reborn As Super Heiress

Capítulo 1892: Chapter 1795: Scared Out of Her Wits

On TV, villains often kidnap hostages and demand money for their release, or there’s a gang fight with one side always carrying a silver-white briefcase filled with cash.

Huo Sining remembered a time she and Su Qingqing watched a movie with a similar scene, and Su Qingqing couldn’t help but complain:

“Are these writers brain-dead? Kidnap a hostage, and they’d demand at least millions, right? This is the daughter of a group CEO, surely she’s worth more than that. Look at that suitcase, it’s so thin, how much can they even fit in there? Barely half a million, no wonder the kidnappers would tear up the ticket, you’re not bringing enough money, the kidnappers aren’t fools, naturally, they know you’re playing with them!”

At that time, this complaint made Huo Sining laugh, but now in such a situation, she was even more puzzled.

“Semiya, I don’t know what you intend to do, but I want to say, I don’t intend to waste time with you now, all my friends are waiting. If you can’t come up with the money, let’s call it a day, and not waste time! JK Entertainment is so big in Las Vegas, you should understand the rules of the casino, without chips, you can’t gamble.”

Huo Sining’s meaning was clear, to continue gambling, you need to pay, no money, sorry, I’m not sticking around.

Semiya, upon hearing Huo Sining’s words, was not anxious but instead laughed:

“No need to hurry, I’ve already sent Alberta to get the chips.”

With those words, Huo Sining couldn’t insist on leaving; if she did, it would seem as if she were hurrying to leave after winning money, which wouldn’t be very fair.

Besides, Huo Sining was somewhat curious, wondering what exactly Semiya was up to. Could she really come up with tens of millions in cash?

Huo Sining did not know, but it was her reminder that jogged Semiya’s memory.

Initially, Semiya was indeed in a dead end, she really didn’t have money, but now letting it go, she was absolutely unwilling.

She was well aware of the casino’s rules; without money, today’s gamble couldn’t continue.

She had thought about using her company shares or even the bar as collateral, but she dared not do so. Her position in the family was already precarious, her grandfather was old, and could pass any day. If she recklessly gambled away all her assets, her future would be tough.

She also knew that doing so could likely sever her relationship with her brother, who might cut off all her resources, leaving her to fend for herself.

Semiya also considered borrowing high-interest loans, but she didn’t dare.

First, she was a member of the Rothschild Family, if she had to resort to high-interest loans, it would bring shame once known, making Semiya a laughingstock in the family. Semiya valued her reputation.

Secondly, she knew that those high-interest lenders were tough, and borrowing from them might lead to selling her properties to repay. This would cause her to lose both reputation and resources.

At first, besides the companies and properties, Semiya couldn’t think of where else she could get money, and those assets couldn’t be quickly converted into cash, the process involved was lengthy, and couldn’t address her immediate needs.

Semiya didn’t want to let Huo Sining leave like that. The woman had taken her beloved, and now winning so much money; allowing her to go was more painful than death for Semiya. She couldn’t come up with money to continue gambling, and if Huo Sining insisted on leaving, she had no means to stop her.

Furthermore, Semiya knew that Huo Sining carried significant weight in Huaxia Country. If she resorted to underhanded tactics and it escalated, not only Huaxia Country but even her brother wouldn’t forgive her.

Just as she was caught in this dilemma, Huo Sining spoke, which triggered something in Semiya’s mind, reminding her of the black market auction in Philadelphia Huo Sining had mentioned earlier. She suddenly remembered, why had she forgotten about those items?

Semiya recalled the box in the library of her villa, although she rarely entered, she knew what the box contained.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up. Considering Huo Sining’s expertise and interests, the items in that box might be more appealing to her than real estate.

With this in mind, Semiya hurriedly sent Alberta back to the house to retrieve the box.

Alberta wasn’t slow; it wasn’t long before he returned with two bar staff carrying a box.

It was an old-fashioned European wooden chest, with an arched lid, looking substantial, at least a meter per side. Yet, seeing the two men lift it so easily, Huo Sining knew cash wasn’t inside.

However, what surprised Huo Sining was when she was pondering this, Semiya turned directly towards the box.

What happened next left Huo Sining speechless and bewildered.

This white girl nonchalantly opened the box lid and began fetching items from it.

As this girl roughly placed each item on the marble counter, not only Huo Sining but also Zhong Xiaoyao and Su Qingqing couldn’t help but widen their eyes.

White Jade Revolving Heart Lotus Seed Vase, Silver Gilt Amitabha Buddha Statue, Changxin Palace Lantern, Qing Dynasty Silver Filigree Enamel Auspicious Wealthy Tall Neck Celestial Globe Vase, Agate Gold-Lined Bowl, Winged Good Deeds Gold Crown. Except for the Changxin Palace Lantern, nearly every item was presented in pairs before Huo Sining’s eyes.

My God, where did this girl get these things from?

Seeing the items being taken out one by one, Huo Sining was increasingly dazzled and more alarmed.

The girl’s casual manner in placing these antique treasures, potentially causing damage, was nerve-racking for Huo Sining. These were rare and perfectly preserved items, yet the girl seemed oblivious, placing them down carelessly and causing a crisp sound on contact with the marble. Huo Sining’s heart pounded with fear, almost rushing over to snatch them away.
