Armed Train in the Apocalypse

”Get out!”

A dull roar erupted from the front of the vehicle, and two elite soldiers who had just climbed in were thrown out, their arms broken, chests caved in, blood spraying from their mouths.

A man as burly as a mountain god emerged from the cockpit, holding a metal shield in his hand that resembled a long sword, with a bluish tint on its surface.

”He Jie,” Liang Kuan growled without looking back.

”Here I come!”

He Jie emerged from the cab, holding a 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun in one hand, its barrel still smoking.

He strode to Liang Kuan’s side and pulled the trigger at the two people still in the air—

”Rat-tat-tat-tat!”

The violent firepower instantly shredded the two, their flesh and blood exploding in the rain of bullets. He Jie squinted, the cigarette tip flickering in the rain, and said coldly, ”Playing tricks on me, huh?”

The brutal combat style made Tailless Fox’s eyes twitch involuntarily.

They quickly darted to the side of the train, and Tailless Fox adhered to the metal surface in a spider-like manner, crawling rapidly, their voice sharp, ”He Jie, are you crazy? Your wife and kids are still at the company!”

After shouting, he quickly ran towards the broken car door at the back.

He Jie’s pupils suddenly contracted, and the machine gun’s roar abruptly stopped.

Liang Kuan keenly sensed his teammate’s breathing grow heavier and thrust his shield sideways with a ”bang!” to block a series of incoming bullets, the metallic clash piercing to the ears.

”Get back in the vehicle!”

He Jie glanced at Su Huan operating an engineering vehicle not far away and unwillingly retreated back inside.

Before Su Huan could fill the big pit, they had to ensure the train did not fall to the Steel Council evolvers’ attack.

It was the same situation on the other side.

Inside was Su Huan, outside was Zhong Cheng.

”Buzz——”

The engineering vehicle changed direction, with two headlights shining over.

Zhong Cheng’s pupils instinctively adjusted to the light, and even in such strong light, he could see the smile at the corner of Su Huan’s mouth inside the cockpit.

”Really makes me want to rip off that smirk of yours.”

Zhong Cheng said coldly.

The harsh voice penetrated into the cockpit; this was the second sentence he spoke to Su Huan since the battle began, counting that shouted taunt.

”Come on~”

Su Huan grinned, crazily switching the high beam, watching Zhong Cheng’s pupils contract and dilate like those of a feline as he laughed heartily.

The angrier Zhong Cheng got, the calmer he became. He crouched and sprinted before suddenly leaping, heading directly for the engineering vehicle, stepping on the ladder railing on the second level. As the metal twisted, his already muscular thighs swelled instantly, stretching the fabric of his high-elasticity trousers. In the next moment, his whole body slammed heavily onto the windshield of the cockpit like a stone.

The two men stared at each other through the glass.

One as cold as iron, with burning rage in his eyes.

One smiling like a madman, but with eyes as cold as ice bricks.

The engineering vehicle’s engine had already been pushed to the limit, rumbling forward.

”Bang!”

Zhong Cheng bent his elbow and smashed into the windshield, the entire glass shattering instantly, the metal frame twisting.

Su Huan adjusted the steering wheel with one hand, charging directly towards the pit.

”Bang bang bang——”

Zhong Cheng’s movements became even more ferocious, pounding the glass repeatedly, creating several large holes on the windshield, teetering on collapse.

The engineering vehicle cleared the train and plunged directly into a five-meter-deep pit, the momentum dissipating rapidly as the vehicle began to fall.

Zhong Cheng’s arm pierced through the shattered windshield like a steel bar, his five fingers forming a claw aiming directly at Su Huan’s throat.

Su Huan jerked backward, his neck brushing past the fingertips, three bloody scratches instantly appearing on his throat.

Zhong Cheng gritted his teeth, his arm muscles bulging as he forcibly tore the twisted metal frame wider, squeezing his whole body into the cockpit.

Su Huan’s eyes flashed electrically bright, his left hand slamming on the control lever.

The engineering vehicle’s hydraulic arm suddenly shot up, the heavy mechanical arm sweeping horizontally from the side, its immense weight hammering towards Zhong Cheng’s abdomen!

Zhong Cheng grunted, but used this force to fully crash into the cockpit.

The two engaged in close combat within the cramped space, elbows and knees flying with blood splattering around.

Su Huan’s right hand was limited by a penetrating wound, and he took a blow to the chest from Zhong Cheng, cracking his ribs on the spot, blood rising in his mouth.

Gritting his teeth, he detonated all the remaining grenades in such a cramped space.

”Boom——”

The engineering vehicle plunged heavily into the deep pit.

The violent impact interrupted all their actions, and the three-meter-deep pool of acid rain was hit, sending waves towering, crashing like a bursting dam from all directions, then receding with more acid rain and mud.

The acid rain flooded into the cockpit from all sides, and the two were instantly submerged by the water.

What’s worse was the chest blow, flattening the lungs, making it impossible to breathe.

Any slight movement made their entire skeleton moan under the unbearable strain.

Cold liquid flooded their nose and mouth, and that damn feeling took him back to the last moment before his death in a previous life.

Every internal organ screamed in pain, every pore shouted in agony!

Thoughts slowed down, every nerve became incredibly sensitive as if the body prolonged the pain just to make him remember it.

A pool of despair dripped drop by drop into his heart.

Like a massive hand, it pressed hard on his head, dragging him into deeper waters.

Four years of painful struggle flashed messily in his mind, the metal-structured bastion, wantonly growing giant trees, fires burning the sky, killing, being killed, reborn... or killed again?

The fragmented consciousness of the train conductor suddenly had but one single question.

Seeing the armed train come to a halt, and firelight from the explosion rising from the pit, a neat exhale echoed through the office.
