Urban Martial Saint

The words spoken by Executioner Scholar shocked Ye Qing to the core. Previously, hadn’t the Wanyan Family allied with the Sword Saint Sect? Why is such a thing happening, and what exactly is the Wanyan Family trying to do?

Executioner Scholar ignored Ye Qing’s shock and continued in a deep voice: ”Including Wanyan Hongfeng, Corpse Ghost Dragon, and the Fifth Sect Leader of the Sword Saint Sect, three beyond peerless masters have all gone to the Sword Saint Sect. All the elites of the Wanyan Family followed in action. So, they currently have no extra energy to go to Dragon Coil Valley. It is precisely because of this reason that Bai Li Xi can confront the Wanyan Family people at Dragon Coil Valley!”

Hearing Executioner Scholar say this, Ye Qing somewhat believed it. If all the Wanyan Family’s elites had left, then remaining would likely only be those with average strength. These people going to deal with Bai Li Xi, being blocked by Bai Li Xi’s poisons, would also be normal.

However, Bai Li Xi probably can’t hold on for long. After all, he does not have Inner Strength to protect his body and his strength is insufficient. Moreover, taking care of so many injured while trapped in Dragon Coil Valley, trying to get out is certainly not easy. In this view, the Wanyan Family deliberately traps them inside and then waits for those who went to besiege the Sword Saint Sect to return, before sending experts to deal with Bai Li Xi, leaving him with absolutely no escape.

Ye Qing’s heart jumped. If things are really as Executioner Scholar said, then the two pieces of information Executioner Scholar gave him are indeed very critical. Without these two pieces of information from Executioner Scholar, Ye Qing would never have thought of going to rescue Bai Li Xi, and Bai Li Xi and the others would have absolutely been doomed.

However, the most crucial question remains, are the matters Executioner Scholar spoke of worthy of belief?

Ye Qing took a deep breath, pondered for a moment, and said in a low voice, ”Why should I believe you?”

On the other side, Executioner Scholar also remained silent for a while before saying in a low voice, ”Firstly, I am a traitor to the Sword Saint Sect. Back then, I learned martial techniques from the Sword Saint Sect and obtained some of their secrets before escaping from the Sect. Secondly, I am now leading the Wanyan Family to find the Sword Saint Sect since I seized the opportunity to secretly call you. Thirdly…”

At this point, Executioner Scholar’s voice was noticeably cold, ”I do not want to become like Nalan Jingwei!”

Upon hearing this, Ye Qing understood what Executioner Scholar meant. Executioner Scholar was a traitor to the Sword Saint Sect and was quite familiar with the Sect’s situation. People of the Sword Saint Sect rarely appear outside, and no one in the world even knows where the Sect is located. The Wanyan Family wants to deal with the Sword Saint Sect, firstly they need to use Executioner Scholar to help them find the Sect. It seems that the Wanyan Family has long been interested in the Sword Saint Sect, which is why they repeatedly collaborated with Executioner Scholar earlier.

And the incident with Nalan Jingwei made Executioner Scholar recognize the situation within the Wanyan Family. Once Nalan Jingwei fell into the hands of the Wanyan Family, they used the Heart Demon Technique to control him. Poor Nalan Jingwei, one of the Five Unmatches of the World, a standout among acme masters, turned into a puppet used by the Wanyan Family; the bitterness of this is imaginable. If not for the duel between Nalan Jingwei and Liu Mubai, where Liu Mubai accidentally awakened him with a Heavenly Demon Roar, Nalan Jingwei would likely still be used as a puppet by the Wanyan Family.

Nalan Jingwei ended up like this in the hands of the Wanyan Family, making Executioner Scholar easily speculate about his own fate. His only value to the Wanyan Family is being used against the Sword Saint Sect. Once this affair with the Sword Saint Sect concludes, he will have no value, and the Wanyan Family will surely turn him into a puppet, similar to Nalan Jingwei, which is Executioner Scholar’s greatest fear.

Moreover, on the other side, the Wanyan Family uses him to deal with the Sword Saint Sect. No matter how the battle goes, the Sword Saint Sect won’t let him go. If the Sword Saint Sect wins, it would be even more troublesome, as they will definitely kill him immediately.

Due to these considerations, regardless of the cooperation with the Wanyan Family or the Sword Saint Sect, Executioner Scholar will not gain any benefit. Therefore, Executioner Scholar now has no choice but to turn to Ye Qing. He has nowhere else to go but to help Ye Qing. If Ye Qing has even the slightest chance to defeat the Wanyan Family, there would still be a way out for him, which is the main reason he chose to help Ye Qing!

Thinking of these reasons, Ye Qing felt a bit reassured. Knowing Executioner Scholar’s purpose, his words could be trusted.

”Alright!” Ye Qing said, ”I promise you, if there is ever an opportunity, I will definitely give you a way out!”

”Thank you!” Executioner Scholar replied softly.

”I still want to ask one more thing…” Ye Qing asked, ”Where exactly is the Sword Saint Sect?”

Executioner Scholar remained silent briefly and said, ”Thirty miles east of Thousand Dragon Lake!”

After saying this, Executioner Scholar directly hung up the phone, seemingly having some urgent matters.

Ye Qing put down the phone and memorized the location of the Sword Saint Sect. He then called Lin Tianyou, asking him first to investigate the situation of the Wanyan Family in Shenchuan City, to see if their elites were truly absent from the city. Though Executioner Scholar had told him many things, Ye Qing still dared not blindly believe him; he needed confirmation to feel secure.

Of course, after the phone call, Ye Qing immediately headed towards Panlong Valley. Regardless of whether Executioner Scholar’s words were true or false, he had to make the trip this time. If what Executioner Scholar said was true, he could then promptly go to rescue Bai Li Xi and his group.

Ye Qing’s current location was not far from Panlong Valley—about half a day’s drive—and he arrived near Panlong Town outside Panlong Valley. Upon arriving, he received a phone call from Lin Tianyou. Lin Tianyou had clarified the situation in Shenchuan City, which indeed was just as Executioner Scholar stated: the elites of the Wanyan Family were truly absent from Shenchuan City. Right now, Shenchuan can nearly be described as an empty city, with all of Wanyan Family’s masters gone.

This news brought great joy to Ye Qing, who immediately informed Lin Tianyou of Panlong Valley’s location, asking him to come over and assist. Afterwards, Ye Qing discreetly proceeded towards Panlong Valley under the cover of night.

Panlong Valley is located less than fifty kilometers outside Panlong Town, a canyon between two mountains. It is named Panlong Valley because the valley resembles a coiled dragon.

Panlong Valley is quite remote, and because the mountains are very high, there’s basically undeveloped old forestry nearby. Ye Qing didn’t enter through the valley entrance but moved along the mountain woodland toward Panlong Valley. To ensure safety, he disguised himself, put on a beard, and dressed like a tourist. In this way, even if discovered by the Wanyan Family, they wouldn’t recognize Ye Qing.

After preparing thoroughly, Ye Qing climbed the mountain, moving along the mountain path. After two hours or so, Ye Qing finally crossed one of the mountains, arriving near Panlong Valley. Of course, the area surrounding the valley is filled with cliffs; it’s completely impractical to enter the valley interior. The only way to enter is through the entrance.

Carefully observing the terrain of Panlong Valley from the mountain, Ye Qing noted that the valley is flanked by cliffs over a thousand meters high, smooth rock faces at the top, meaning only someone with Beyond The Pinnacle Qinggong might descend these rocks. Even with Ye Qing’s physique, falling from such a height would prove fatal due to the tremendous impact. Thus, descending into the valley from the sides is out of question.

After memorizing the terrain around Panlong Valley, Ye Qing descended along the mountain path towards the entrance to gauge the Wanyan Family’s defenses.

The entrance to Panlong Valley is situated between two mountains, roughly seventy meters wide, making it somewhat easier to defend. Naturally, it is also easier to prevent outsiders from holding this entrance.

Ye Qing descended along the mountain path, spotting the canyon entrance from a distance and hearing the sound of footsteps; someone seemed to have noticed him.

Ye Qing simply pretended not to hear and kept walking forward. After only a few steps, two individuals emerged from the forest up ahead, looking at Ye Qing from afar.

Seeing these two, Ye Qing’s brows tightened instantly because he recognized them as members of two families among the Seven Great Families within the Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance, both figures among the younger generation and decent hands among their peers. After the battle in Shenchuan City, these individuals all sided with the Wanyan Family. He never expected they’d be assisting the Wanyan Family by guarding the exit at Panlong Valley to deal with Bai Li Xi, which was truly detestable!

Although furious inside, Ye Qing didn’t dare show any expression outwardly. Upon seeing the two appear, Ye Qing immediately halted, acting like a tourist.

The two did not recognize Ye Qing, as he had glued a good amount of beard, even coloring his hair gray and wearing a travel hat that obscured most of his face. With such a disguise, who could identify this person as Ye Qing?

”What are you doing?” One of them asked in a deep voice.

”I… I’m traveling…” Ye Qing adopted a frightened demeanor, akin to a genuine tourist.

”Traveling?” The two exchanged glances, one asked, ”If you’re traveling, why are you here?”

”I’m traveling on foot alone, got lost around here, and accidentally wandered here!” Ye Qing hurriedly explained, ”By the way, brother, is there any town nearby?”

Seeing Ye Qing claim to be touring on foot and his attire, the two did not doubt Ye Qing. After all, occasionally tourists do pass by near Panlong Valley. They had already encountered several tourists during two days of guarding here and had become somewhat accustomed to it.
