Urban Martial Saint

Lin Tianyou’s words made Ye Qing overjoy. As long as it could be treated, that was good enough—whether it was complicated or not wasn’t the key. If even Lin Tianyou couldn’t treat these injuries, then it would really be troublesome.

”Since that’s the case, let’s go treat those people’s injuries first!” Ye Qing said as he pulled out his phone and started trying to reach Bai Li Xi.

Back in the last big battle in Shenchuan City, before the Wanyan Family launched their attack, Ye Qing had already told Bai Li Xi to take those injured people and leave, so Bai Li Xi and the others also escaped that calamity. In fact, in order to keep anyone from finding out where Bai Li Xi’s group was, Ye Qing had only told Bai Li Xi to go out and find a place to hide on his own—Ye Qing himself didn’t even know where Bai Li Xi was now.

Now that he’d found someone who could treat them, Ye Qing had to contact Bai Li Xi and get those people rescued first. Every one of them was a Peak Master, and none of them were weak. Once they were healed, Ye Qing’s side would have a few more helpers.

The phone rang several times, but no one picked up; instead, the call was directly hung up. That made Ye Qing’s heart jolt in alarm. Could it be that something dangerous had happened to Bai Li Xi’s group?

”What’s wrong?” Seeing Ye Qing’s expression change, Lin Tianyou asked curiously.

”I don’t know either. I can’t get through to Bai Li Xi at all. I don’t know what the hell is going on over there!” Ye Qing dialed again, but still no one answered, which only heightened his worry. Bai Li Xi would never refuse to pick up his call. Just what had happened? Could Bai Li Xi have been captured by people from the Wanyan Family?

He called several more times, but still got no response. Ye Qing’s anxiety grew worse. If Bai Li Xi had been caught, that would be a huge problem. Not only would Bai Li Xi be in danger, but all the people he’d taken with him would be in trouble as well. For example, Huangfu Ziyu, for example Wolf Monk, for example Ding Lianshun Yin Xianzi—wouldn’t they all be falling into the Wanyan Family’s hands?

Ye Qing abruptly set the phone down, stood up, and said in a deep voice, ”No. Bai Li Xi and the others are probably already captured by the Wanyan Family. I have to go to Shenchuan City and get them out!”

Lin Tianyou glanced at Ye Qing and said, ”Things aren’t settled yet. I don’t think we can act rashly.”

”Bai Li Xi absolutely wouldn’t ignore my calls. If he’s not answering, then something must have gone wrong!” Ye Qing looked at Lin Tianyou and said, ”Zi Yu is also with Bai Li Xi. No matter what, I have to go save them!”

”I know you’re worried, but with this matter, you can’t rush it.” Lin Tianyou said, ”The Wanyan Family is searching for you everywhere right now. If you show your face in Shenchuan City, I’m afraid you’ll be caught by the Wanyan people before you even find out what’s going on with Bai Li Xi’s group. How would that be any different from walking right into their trap?”

Ye Qing also knew going to Shenchuan City himself would be dangerous, but this involved Huangfu Ziyu and so many of his friends—how could he possibly stay calm?

Seeing how anxious and worried Ye Qing was, Lin Tianyou said, ”How about this: you don’t go to Shenchuan City—I’ll go.”

”Huh?” Ye Qing froze for a moment, staring at Lin Tianyou in astonishment. ”What do you mean?”

”I’ll go to Shenchuan City and investigate this for you,” Lin Tianyou said. ”I’m basically a new face; the Wanyan Family definitely doesn’t know I exist. If I go investigate for you, I won’t be in any danger. Besides, I grew up in Shenchuan City—I know the situation there very well. If I go to investigate, it’ll be much more convenient.”

Ye Qing was overjoyed. The method Lin Tianyou suggested really wasn’t bad. Lin Tianyou going to Shenchuan City to investigate would obviously be much more convenient than Ye Qing going personally.

”Then I’ll have to trouble you, Brother Lin!” Ye Qing quickly cupped his hands in thanks.

”Between you and me, there’s no need for formalities.” Lin Tianyou said, ”This afternoon I’ll fly straight to Shenchuan City. You must not show yourself for now, so the Wanyan people don’t find you. If anything happens, call me directly. If you run into any danger, you can head straight to Medicine King Mountain. Senior Green knows you; he’ll lead you into the mountain.”

Ye Qing nodded. With Medicine King Mountain as a place to hide, it was indeed much safer. For Medicine King Mountain, unless one held the Divine Doctor’s Order or was brought in by someone from inside, outsiders simply couldn’t get in.

”Don’t worry, nothing will happen to me,” Ye Qing replied.

In the afternoon, according to plan, Lin Tianyou bought a ticket and rushed to Shenchuan City by plane, while Ye Qing drove out of the small town. He didn’t dare take the main roads, sticking strictly to side roads. He also disguised himself once more so the Wanyan people wouldn’t recognize him.

Driving all through the night, he finally left the area around Medicine King Mountain, and Ye Qing let out a breath of relief. If the Wanyan people went to Medicine King Mountain looking for him now, they definitely wouldn’t find him there. But the key question now was—where should he go?

There wasn’t a single person at his side, and their current strength was nowhere near enough to face off against the Wanyan Family. Before he found Bai Li Xi’s group, Ye Qing had no destination at all. What he should be doing during this stretch of time was truly a problem.

He kept driving aimlessly. Around noon he stopped in a small town, found a place to grab a bite and rest for a while, then drove off again in the afternoon. On the road, he received a call from Lin Tianyou—he’d already arrived in Shenchuan City and was currently investigating the Wanyan situation. However, he still hadn’t gotten any information; he didn’t know whether Bai Li Xi’s group had actually been captured by the Wanyan Family.

After hanging up, Ye Qing had been driving for only a short while when his phone rang again. He glanced at the screen and couldn’t help but frown slightly. It was an unfamiliar number, one he’d never seen before. At a time like this, who would be calling him?

He hesitated briefly, but still answered the call and put it to his ear, without speaking.

”Ye Qing?” A cold voice came from the other end of the line. It sounded somewhat familiar, but for the moment Ye Qing couldn’t recall whose voice it was.

”Who are you?” Ye Qing asked back.

”Executioner Scholar.”

That answer made Ye Qing’s heart jump. No wonder the voice sounded familiar—it was Executioner Scholar. Ye Qing had heard him speak before; it was just that he hadn’t seen him for some time, and had almost forgotten.

”So, you’re helping the Wanyan Family hunt me as well?” Ye Qing sneered. ”You actually believe the Wanyan Family’s bullshit? You really think they’ll hand you a chance to become Beyond The Pinnacle?”

”I don’t believe it,” Executioner Scholar replied bluntly.

”Then why are you looking for me?” Ye Qing said in a low voice. ”Planning to catch me to curry favor with the Wanyan Family?”

”No need,” Executioner Scholar’s voice was still ice-cold.

”Then what are you getting at?” Ye Qing was somewhat surprised. If Executioner Scholar wasn’t working for the Wanyan Family, what was he trying to do?

There was a moment of silence on the other end—Executioner Scholar seemed to be hesitating. Finally, he said in a deep voice, ”I want to cooperate with you.”

”You want to cooperate with me?” Ye Qing paused, then couldn’t help but laugh. ”Executioner Scholar, you think I’m actually going to buy that?”

The relationship between Executioner Scholar and Ye Qing was as hostile as water and fire. Strictly speaking, Executioner Scholar’s brothers had all died because of Ye Qing. He was the only one left, and he hated Ye Qing to the bone, scheming against him nonstop before. On top of that, Executioner Scholar had long since joined forces with the Wanyan Family, and Ye Qing already regarded him as one of their people. Now Executioner Scholar was saying he wanted to work with Ye Qing—of course Ye Qing’s first reaction was not to believe him.

”Believe it or don’t, I want to cooperate with you,” Executioner Scholar said in a low voice. ”I called to tell you two things. The first has to do with Bai Li Xi’s group. They’re currently trapped in Dragon Coil Valley by the Wanyan Family. Bai Li Xi used poisons to seal the entrance to Dragon Coil Valley, so the Wanyan people can’t get in. And the Wanyan people have sealed off the exit of Dragon Coil Valley, so Bai Li Xi can’t get out either.”

”What?” Ye Qing’s brows furrowed instantly. After thinking for a moment, he said, ”Executioner Scholar, trying to trick me with this kind of cheap ploy is looking down on me a bit too much, isn’t it? You want to use Bai Li Xi’s situation to lure me to Dragon Coil Valley, then have the Wanyan people catch me? This isn’t the first time you’ve fought me—do you really think such tricks can fool me?”

”I’ll say it again—believe it or don’t. Since I want to cooperate with you, anything that should be said, I’ll tell you the truth. As for what you do with it, that’s your business,” Executioner Scholar said. ”But, Ye Qing, there’s one thing I hope you understand. If what I’ve told you is later proven true, then if I ever fall into your hands someday, I hope you’ll remember what I’ve told you today and spare me a way out.”

Ye Qing was even more surprised. The way Executioner Scholar spoke sounded almost desperate. Why did he think he’d end up in Ye Qing’s hands? Right now the Wanyan Family had everything under control, and he was cooperating with them—he shouldn’t have to worry about this at all. So why was he saying something like that?

”I’ll judge for myself whether it’s true or not,” Ye Qing said in a low voice. ”Forget everything else—just the claim that Bai Li Xi sealed Dragon Coil Valley with poison so the Wanyan people can’t enter, I absolutely don’t buy it. The Wanyan Family has experts like clouds; they also have a few treasures that ward off poisons. Even if those Peak Masters can’t withstand Bai Li Xi’s poison, the Wanyan Family still has beyond peerless masters. If they really wanted to capture Bai Li Xi, they’d just send Corpse Ghost Dragon. Why bother wasting time in a standoff with Bai Li Xi like this?”

”That’s exactly the second thing I wanted to tell you…” Executioner Scholar took a deep breath and said in a low voice, ”The Wanyan Family’s elite forces set out in full two days ago—they’re launching an all-out attack on Sword Saint Sect.”

”What!?” Ye Qing’s expression changed. This was a huge development. The Wanyan Family was finally clashing head-on with Sword Saint Sect? These two major powers were finally about to go to war?
