Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing knew someone was following him, and couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious. These people were really bold, they dared to cause trouble here even though they were less than thirty kilometers from Shen Family Manor. What were the origins of these two groups?

Earlier, Ye Qing saw clearly that these two groups actually held hostility towards each other. However, since he and Li Bing’en entered the restaurant, Ao Yangrong’s junior brother’s attention was more focused on him. This indicates that although there was hostility between these two groups, it was not enough for them to break out into a fight.

Last time in Liaoshen City, Ao Yangrong’s junior brother saw the power of Ye Qing and Li Bing’en firsthand. Logically, seeing Ye Qing and Li Bing’en again would make him want to flee immediately. Yet, not only did he have no intention of fleeing this time, but this group even pursued Ye Qing, which indicates that the strength of this group must be much stronger than the previous group led by Ao Yangrong, making them feel confident enough to challenge Ye Qing and Li Bing’en.

Since they were almost at Shen Family Manor, Ye Qing didn’t want to cause trouble and drove straight towards Shen Family Manor. As long as he reached Shen Family Manor, they wouldn’t dare to chase him, no matter how strong they were.

After driving roughly halfway down this road, Ye Qing had left those two groups far behind and out of sight, allowing him to breathe a sigh of relief, at least no longer having to entangle with them.

However, after driving less than two kilometers further, two cars were blocking the road ahead. Seven or eight people stood outside the cars, looking this way from afar. As Ye Qing’s car approached, those seven or eight people began gesturing and shouting at his car. Ye Qing couldn’t hear clearly because of the distance, but it was obvious they had been waiting for him.

Ye Qing frowned, was it really this coincidental along the road? Encountering Ao Yangrong’s junior brother earlier was one thing, but he was almost at Shen Family Manor and someone was intercepting him on the road. What kind of people were they? Ye Qing thought he would be completely safe after repelling Lu Zian but didn’t expect that someone would dare to block him here.

Since he had reached this point and there was no other road, Ye Qing simply drove up, stopping about ten meters from the two cars, and got out to take a closer look at the seven or eight people opposite him. To be honest, Ye Qing didn’t recognize any of them. Yet, their eyes were full of hostility towards Ye Qing, as if they had been enemies for a long time.

”Friends, you may have mistaken me for someone else?” Ye Qing said loudly: ”This is the road to Shen Family Manor, and I have some matters to attend to there. If it’s convenient, please make way and let me pass!”

Ye Qing didn’t want to cause too much trouble, so he mentioned Shen Family Manor right away, trying to use its name to intimidate them. After all, Shen Family Manor was absolutely formidable here in Xi Hang, known and feared by everyone, and no one dared to obstruct the guests of Shen Family Manor.

The group looked at Ye Qing’s car, then at Ye Qing, and the leader said in a deep voice: ”Are you named Ye Qing?”

Ye Qing immediately frowned, hearing this statement, there was no doubt he was whom they were waiting for.

”That’s me,” Ye Qing said loudly: ”Do you folks recognize me?”

”Hmph, recognition is an understatement!” The man sneered coldly: ”You might not know me, but you certainly know my senior brother.”

”Your senior brother?” Ye Qing asked curiously: ”Who is your senior brother?”

”Ao Yangrong!” The man replied in a deep voice.

Ye Qing’s expression changed, he glanced at the group, his frown deepening. These individuals were actually Ao Yangrong’s junior brothers, which meant they were disciples of Northern Martial Zen. It seemed that the group in the restaurant was also disciples of Northern Martial Zen. Evidently, they must have informed this group to intercept him here. This time, the disciples of Northern Martial Zen were prepared to avenge themselves on Ye Qing and Li Bing’en.

”So, you are distinguished disciples of Northern Martial Zen!” Ye Qing slowly nodded and said: ”You’re waiting here for me, but for what important matter, I wonder?”

”Don’t pretend to be innocent,” the leader angrily said: ”Last time, my senior brother was defeated by you people at Liaoshen Li Family. Given my senior brother’s skills, how could he possibly lose to such trash like you? All of us junior brothers are discontented with that loss, convinced you must have used some trickery for my senior brother to be defeated. We’ve long wanted to seek you out and settle this score, and unexpectedly, enemies really do cross paths narrowly, meeting here in Xi Hang. Moreover, last time you used despicable means to defeat my senior brother; this time, I want to see how much real skill you truly have!”

”Ao Yangrong lost to Third Master Li’s disciple Li Bing’en, which was witnessed by all, even Ao Yangrong himself admitted defeat. We acted openly and righteously, whether any means were used, Ao Yangrong should know better.” Ye Qing calmly said: ”You can go ask Ao Yangrong directly; if we employed any underhanded tactics, let him point them out.”

”Don’t talk nonsense with me; my senior brother is a benevolent person, unwilling to harbor hatred, which is why he never spoke of this matter after returning. However, we junior brothers feel wronged, how can we suffer such a silent loss?” the leader said furiously: ”No more words, let’s fight here today and determine a victor once and for all. Ye, if you’re afraid to fight, then admit defeat honorably, announce to everyone that Northern Fist King Li Changqing is inferior to my master Northern Martial Zen, and this matter can be written off. Otherwise, let our skills do the talking!”

Ye Qing sighed; he originally didn’t want to fight these people. But, this person was truly pushing it, aggressively insisting Ye Qing fight him. If Ye Qing didn’t accept, wouldn’t it tarnish Third Master Li’s reputation!

”Do we really have to fight?” Ye Qing said calmly.

”Yes, truly fight!” the leader said loudly: ”Do you dare to accept the challenge?”

Ye Qing looked at the seven or eight people opposite him and said, ”Are you the one coming to fight me?”

”Of course it’s not me!” the leader said arrogantly. ”The one coming to fight you will be here soon. Hmph, he will make you understand that my master’s strength is far beyond that so-called Northern Fist King Li Changqing!”

”Empty words are worthless, let’s speak after the fight.” Ye Qing frowned and said, ”Third Master Li, the Northern Fist King, was elected by everyone. North Wuzen’s defeat at his hands is an undeniable fact and won’t be changed by just a few words from you.”

”You...” The leader was infuriated by Ye Qing’s ridicule. However, despite his anger, he didn’t know how to retort. After all, the fact that North Wuzen was defeated by Third Master Li couldn’t be changed.

At that moment, two cars drove up behind Ye Qing—vehicles that had chased him from the restaurant earlier. They seemed unfamiliar with the area’s geography, which explained why they hadn’t caught up until now.

”Alright, alright, the main event has arrived!” Seeing the two cars, the leader laughed loudly and said, ”Ye, I’ve heard you’re a pupil of both the Northern and Southern Fist Kings. Hmph, despite learning from many masters, you’re still miles behind my master’s beloved son!”

The person who was to fight Ye Qing was actually the son of North Wuzen?

Ye Qing turned his head to see the young man from earlier approaching with the group from the restaurant. Spotting Ye Qing turning, the young man smirked coldly, showing he had no regard for Ye Qing.

”The apprentice of the Northern Fist King sure is skilled at running away!” shouted someone beside the young man from a distance. ”The moment you saw us chasing, you vanished. Isn’t Third Master Li’s martial art in Bajiquan? Is running the only thing you’ve learned?”

This comment immediately drew laughter, as these were North Wuzen’s disciples, looking at Ye Qing with hostility and disdain. To them, dealing with Ye Qing and his companion was no challenge at all.

By now, the young man had reached Ye Qing, scrutinizing him before glancing into the car at Li Bing’en.

”You are Ye Qing?” the young man asked calmly.

Ye Qing nodded, ”That’s me, I haven’t—”

Before Ye Qing could finish, the young man interrupted, ”So he’s the idiot?”

Ye Qing furrowed his brow; this young man acted so arrogantly. His attitude was excessively presumptive.

Ye Qing didn’t respond to him, simply observing coldly. ”Are you North Wuzen’s son?” he asked.

”Bei Shisan!” the young man retorted arrogantly.

”Bei Shisan?” Ye Qing was a bit puzzled, unsure what this meant. Could it be the young man’s name? Was it possible that North Wuzen really had the last name Bei?

Seeing Ye Qing’s expression, the young man frowned and asked in a deep voice, ”Is there any question about that?”

Ye Qing curiously asked, ”This Bei Shisan, is it your name, or... or a nickname?”

”Nonsense, of course, it’s my name!” Bei Shisan replied angrily.

”So ignorant, do you think North Wuzen is a nickname?” A mocking voice called from a distance. Ye Qing turned and saw another group walking down the road. This was the group that had confronted Bei Shisan and his crew at the restaurant. The speaker was a skinny, tall young man. This youth was of a similar age as Bei Shisan and equally arrogant in demeanor. In fact, he seemed even more dismissive of others than Bei Shisan.

”North Wuzen is not a nickname; it’s a name!” The young man approached, smirking contemptuously. ”Unfortunately, many people do not even know that ’Bei’ is actually a last name! How sad, how pitiful!”
