Urban Martial Saint

Suddenly hearing Zhao Chengshuang say this, Ye Qing was a bit surprised and asked, ”Which friend of mine? I don’t have any friends in jail here.”

Zhao Chengshuang replied, ”Did you forget? It’s that Handsome Fatty Wang.”

”Huh?” Ye Qing immediately remembered the incident; last time, Handsome Fatty Wang had tried to con him once. So, at the police station, Ye Qing also wanted to give Handsome Fatty Wang a bit of a scare, and before leaving, he told Zhao Chengshuang to hold him for fifteen days or something. Unexpectedly, this fatty couldn’t stand it. There are only a few days left before he would be released, and he’s breaking out of jail at this critical juncture; isn’t he just looking for trouble? Even if it’s only fifteen days of detention, once he breaks out, it’s a serious offense and he’ll probably get sentenced for several years if caught.

”You... didn’t tell him how long he’d be held?” Ye Qing asked quickly.

”Nonsense, for this kind of detention, one must make it clear.” Zhao Chengshuang said, ”From the day he was detained, he knew how long he would be held. This kid has been in for almost a week, and he runs away at this critical moment — is he crazy?”

Ye Qing immediately frowned; Handsome Fatty Wang isn’t stupid. If there’s no special reason, he definitely wouldn’t take such a huge risk. Besides, he’s been held for a week now, and didn’t break out earlier, why break out in this moment? What’s the reason behind this?

After a moment of silence, Ye Qing suddenly asked, ”During this time, has he met anyone?”

”No.” Zhao Chengshuang said, ”But during this period, he received a phone call — just last night. Then he broke out of jail; looks like he decided to break out of jail after receiving the call.”

At this point, Zhao Chengshuang suddenly slapped his leg and said, ”Damn, I almost forgot, this kid wrote a line on the wall before leaving. I took a picture of it, take a look.”

Zhao Chengshuang took out his phone and handed the picture he snapped over to Ye Qing. This picture is of the inner wall of the detention room, and it is quite clear, so Ye Qing could clearly see the situation inside.

On the wall of the detention room, there was a crooked line written — Ye brothers, Wang is leaving first, keep that item safe and don’t reveal it. If they can’t find me, they won’t think that thing is with you. All secured.

”How is it?” Zhao Chengshuang asked beside him, ”What do you think?”

”What do you mean?” Ye Qing asked puzzled.

”These words — aren’t they ugly!” Zhao Chengshuang said, ”Look, look at those words for reveal and secure, he even used pinyin to spell them out. No education, has this kid even finished elementary school? Look how ugly these words are. I’m not boasting, but even using my left hand, I could write better than this.”

Ye Qing thought Zhao Chengshuang might say something significant but didn’t expect it to be a critique of the handwriting written by Handsome Fatty Wang, leaving him speechless. Ignoring Zhao Chengshuang, Ye Qing walked to the side and sat down, tightly furrowing his brows.

Compared with Madman Wang, Handsome Fatty Wang is almost the same, an unscrupulous and treacherous person. It’s good enough if he doesn’t con people, how could he actually help Ye Qing divert Prince Wan Yan? Moreover, Ye Qing had conned him once; who knows what kind of sneaky tricks this kid might have in mind to con Ye Qing.

”Prince Wan Yan!” Ye Qing took a deep breath and said solemnly, ”He might be entering Shenchuan City soon!”

”Huh?” Zhao Chengshuang turned his head to look, puzzled, ”What prince?”

Ye Qing didn’t explain to him, as it seemed Fatty Wang had gotten word that Prince Wan Yan was coming, so he didn’t dare to linger in Shenchuan City any further. Even though he was about to be released soon, he still broke out of jail overnight and fled. However, this bastard was really enough of a scoundrel, leaving such a line on the wall before leaving, obviously to trap Ye Qing. Once Prince Wan Yan sees that line, he would certainly come looking for Ye Qing and not him. This bastard, it’s clear he wasn’t warning Ye Qing but actually setting him up.

Ye Qing isn’t clear on Prince Wan Yan’s strength. But from what Handsome Fatty Wang said before, Prince Wan Yan’s strength is similar to Northern Martial Zen and not much different from Ao Wuchang from Shu. That means, based on Ye Qing’s current situation, it is impossible for him to be a match for Prince Wan Yan. Once Prince Wan Yan arrives in Shenchuan City, Ye Qing will undoubtedly lose.

Ye Qing knows that the object of Prince Wan Yan’s quest is the Gold Silk Armor currently in his possession. However, according to Netherworld Taoist’s statement, this Gold Silk Armor is of great importance and involves a significant secret related to the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates.

In the past, Ye Qing wouldn’t care about such an item and could simply hand it to Prince Wan Yan. But now it’s different, Ye Qing has accepted the task from Su Kaicheng to ensure no one enters Heaven’s Gate. And this Gold Silk Armor is related to Heaven Earth Man Three Gates, so he certainly can’t hand it over easily. Who knows if this Gold Silk Armor would be linked to the opening of Heaven’s Gate.

Furthermore, Prince Wan Yan is a descendant of the Jin Dynasty Royal Family, such people are even more dangerous — who knows if he harbors any thoughts of restoring his country. Therefore, under no circumstances should Ye Qing allow him to enter Heaven’s Gate. Meaning, the Gold Silk Armor must not be given to Prince Wan Yan!

”Hey, Ye Zi, what are you thinking?” Zhao Chengshuang waved his hand in front of Ye Qing’s eyes and asked, ”You haven’t said, who exactly is this Prince Wan Yan?”

Ye Qing glanced at Zhao Chengshuang, paused briefly, and said, ”He’s someone similar to Ao Wuchang.”

”Huh?” Zhao Chengshuang’s eyes instantly widened; these days, he has understood Ao Wuchang’s abilities. Even when facing Ao Wuchang, Ye Qing had to retreat to the suburbs, indicating Ao Wuchang’s strength. Now there’s someone else appearing with comparable strength, what will happen then?

”Then... what will you do now?” Zhao Chengshuang asked anxiously, ”Is this Prince Wan Yan here to cause trouble?”

Ye Qing was silent for a moment and said, ”The Southern Six Provinces are indeed going to be chaotic; it seems Shenchuan City is not a viable place to stay for the time being!”

”Not viable?” Zhao Chengshuang looked at Ye Qing, ”Then... what are you planning to do?”

Ye Qing sighed softly and said, ”Cheng Shuang, help me with something.”

”Damn, between us, there’s nothing much to talk about.” Zhao Chengshuang promptly said, ”Whatever it is, just say it!”

”You’re a police officer, it’s easier for you to move around.” Ye Qing said, ”Help me deliver a dinner invitation to Ao Wuchang.”

”Dinner invitation? To Ao Wuchang?” Zhao Chengshuang asked curiously, ”Ye Zi, what are you planning?”

”I want to invite him to dinner...” Ye Qing paused, ”and also the Bloody Monk!”

”You want to invite them to dinner?” Zhao Chengshuang was even more surprised, ”The Bloody Monk is a madman, it’s impossible to communicate with someone like him, why invite him to dinner? And then that Ao Wuchang, who’s been harboring a grudge against you wanting to kill you, why invite him to a meal? Are you out of your mind?”

”I’m not out of my mind!” Ye Qing replied, ”I’m very clear-minded; you just need to deliver the invitation.”

Zhao Chengshuang studied Ye Qing for a while, seeing that Ye Qing wasn’t joking at all, and nodded, ”Alright then, prepare the invitations and I’ll also get some people ready. If it doesn’t go well during the dinner, I’ll bring people in. I don’t believe, no matter how bold Ao Wuchang is, he wouldn’t dare to kill someone in front of the police!”

Ye Qing smiled, patting Zhao Chengshuang’s shoulder and said, ”No need to make such a big move; I’m just inviting them to dinner, not a fight. If they wanted me dead, would I still be alive now?”

”Better safe than sorry.” Zhao Chengshuang said, ”It’s best to be fully prepared, but don’t worry. I’ll let my people hide far away so they don’t get discovered and avoid ruining the atmosphere. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll let them in, better late than never.”

Ye Qing knew Zhao Chengshuang was worried about his safety, so he insisted on doing it this way. In this matter, Ye Qing couldn’t argue with him and let him handle it.

Ye Qing wrote two invitations, one for Ao Wuchang and one for Bloody Monk, inviting them both to dinner at seven in the evening.

Ye Qing couldn’t send his people to convey the message to these two, as it would inevitably cause conflict. However, Zhao Chengshuang is a police officer; his identity is somewhat special, so it’s naturally easier for him to deliver the message.

At six-thirty in the evening, Ye Qing arrived at the restaurant and waited here. About ten minutes later, Cui Yu arrived with a few people from Sha Men.

”Ye brothers, really sorry.” Cui Yu immediately clasped his fist towards Ye Qing upon entering, ”The Sect Leader has other important matters, so he may not be able to come tonight. But he said that if Ye brothers have anything to discuss, you can tell me. My words are his intention. As long as it’s not too crucial, I can make decisions on behalf of the Sect Leader!”

”With you, Brother Cui, here it’s the same.” Ye Qing replied with a soft smile; he had anticipated Bloody Monk not coming. However, since Bloody Monk sent Cui Yu over, this also expresses his stance.

The people from Sha Men are very grateful to Ye Qing, which goes without saying. However, the ones with the best relationship with Ye Qing are the brothers Cui Yu and Cui Yulong and Netherworld Taoist. Bloody Monk sending Cui Yu over clearly shows he’s telling Ye Qing: Sha Men is grateful for your past actions, so whatever you propose tonight, as long as it’s not excessive, Sha Men will agree.

Before Sha Men’s people sat down, Chen San also came in with Ao Muh Han. Upon entering, like Cui Yu earlier, he first apologized to Ye Qing, gently expressing that Ao Wuchang couldn’t come and he was representing.

Seeing Ao Muh Han, Ye Qing’s mouth formed a light smile. Everything was as he had guessed; Bloody Monk wouldn’t come, nor would Ao Wuchang. But both sent someone. Bloody Monk sent Cui Yu over, clearly coming to support Ye Qing. Ao Wuchang’s side, however, sent Chen San with Ao Muh Han, their attitude was clearly different. At least, Ao Wuchang’s side wouldn’t have the same favorable attitude as Sha Men towards Ye Qing.
