Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing didn’t expect this matter to go so smoothly. He had thought these old practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine would all have peculiar tempers. He even considered bringing Wu Yian over for treatment. Unexpectedly, this old Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor turned out to be so money-hungry.

But that’s fine. The most important thing is to cure Wu Yian’s illness and have him manage things at the orphanage. Therefore, how much money is spent doesn’t matter to Ye Qing.

The old doctor returned to his courtyard to start packing his things. Out of courtesy, Ye Qing waited outside and didn’t go in.

Inside the house, the old doctor’s face revealed a barely perceptible cold sneer. Through the window, he stealthily glanced at Ye Qing outside. Quietly picking up the phone beside him, he spoke in a low voice: ”Third Senior Brother, the one surnamed Ye has taken the bait. Everything will proceed as planned!”

At that moment, the old doctor’s voice suddenly became youthful—it was unmistakably the voice of Wang Tian’an’s Junior Brother.

This old doctor was actually Wang Tian’an’s Junior Brother in disguise?

”Very good!” A satisfied voice came from the phone. Wang Tian’an spoke in a firm tone: ”Do you remember the activation method for the Twin Gu Insects?”

”Of course!” Junior Brother replied gravely. ”Third Senior Brother, rest assured. As long as the Twin Gu Insects are implanted in Ye Qing, he’ll definitely be under our control!”

Wang Tian’an said in a stern voice: ”You must be extremely cautious. The Twin Gu usually lies dormant, but once activated, it goes berserk upon contact with blood. Therefore, before you activate the Twin Gu, you must ensure it can be implanted into Ye Qing’s body; otherwise, don’t activate it under any circumstances. If you don’t succeed, the backlash will be on you.”

”I understand!” Junior Brother replied firmly. ”I’ll be careful!”

Junior Brother hung up the phone, picked up the bag on the table, and casually glanced at the foot of the bed. Originally, an actual old doctor had lived in this room, but he had already been killed, and his body was buried beneath the bed. The people who had argued with the doctors in the hospital earlier that morning were all arranged by Junior Brother, specifically to lure Ye Qing over.

Repeated incidents had already proven that Ye Qing’s schemes far surpassed those of ordinary people. This sparked Wang Tian’an’s desire to control Ye Qing. The Twin Gu Insects were the perfect tool to achieve this. Hence, Junior Brother had painstakingly set up such an elaborate trap in Shenchuan City, deliberately baiting Ye Qing.

Although the Twin Gu Insects were incredibly powerful, their destructive nature posed a significant issue. Due to their intensity, the insects must remain dormant when not in use. To deploy the Twin Gu Insects, they must first be activated. Therefore, to implant the Twin Gu Insects in Ye Qing’s body, Junior Brother had to get close enough to Ye Qing.

Upon learning that Ye Qing was seeking a skilled acupuncturist to save Wu Yian, Junior Brother immediately devised this scheme to lure Ye Qing. Naturally, Ye Qing could never have imagined any of this.

The fake doctor grabbed the bag and walked out of the courtyard, swiftly reverting to his greedy and frail elderly facade. ”Alright, the tools are packed. We can leave now!”

Ye Qing had no clue that the fake doctor’s true target was himself. He loaded him into the car and drove directly toward Shenchuan City.

By the time they reached the city, daylight still lingered. Without delay, Ye Qing brought the fake doctor to the hospital to administer acupuncture to Wu Yian.

The fake doctor, Wang Tian’an’s Junior Brother, was both a disciple of King Yan Ning Qianshu and a master of poisonous techniques and advanced medical skills. For him, curing Wu Yian’s illness posed no real challenge. Without any reservations, he immediately began administering acupuncture in the hospital room.

As Ye Qing watched from the side, seeing the elderly doctor’s unwavering confidence, his spirits soared. It genuinely seemed like this doctor had skill—Wu Yian might truly be saved this time!

It had to be said—Wang Tian’an’s Junior Brother indeed had some expertise in treating illnesses. With just one round of acupuncture, Wu Yian regained considerable clarity. He could speak, his limbs regained sensation, and he seemed like a completely different person. Judging by his recovery, a few more treatments might restore him to normal.

Seeing Wu Yian awaken and recover, Ye Qing was overjoyed. He immediately arranged for someone to escort the elderly doctor to a hotel for rest while he hurried to inquire about Wu Yian’s condition.

After regaining consciousness, the first thing Wu Yian asked about wasn’t his health but the situation at the orphanage. Upon learning the orphanage’s issues were on the mend, he was visibly delighted, his complexion much improved. He began clamoring to be discharged so he could dive back into work at the orphanage.

Zhao Chengshuang was also nearby. Watching Wu Yian wake up, he felt equally amazed. Comforting Wu Yian, he said: ”Principal Wu, your illness isn’t entirely cured yet. Take a few days to recover here. Don’t worry about the orphanage; we’ll handle it for now. You’ll certainly have plenty to keep you busy later. But health is the backbone of everything, right? You need to restore your body first before continuing to oversee the orphanage operations, don’t you think? Let’s finish the treatments, and once you’re fully recovered, you can return, and no one will stop you then!”

Ye Qing also advised Wu Yian to take care of himself. At the moment, Wu Yian was exceptionally worked up, but after both their reassurances, he finally agreed to stay in the hospital for treatment. Still, Ye Qing and Zhao Chengshuang could tell his thoughts remained focused on the orphanage.

After settling Wu Yian in for rest, Zhao Chengshuang quickly followed Ye Qing out of the hospital room. ”Wow, Ye Qing, where did you find such a skilled Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor? He’s really incredible—he can cure strokes?”

Ye Qing had not anticipated that this old doctor would truly possess such remarkable abilities to cure strokes. Hearing Zhao Chengshuang’s comment, Ye Qing recounted the events that had transpired earlier in the day.

”It’s true—hidden experts dwell in the deep mountains!” Zhao Chengshuang said, rubbing his hands together. ”By the way, aside from treating strokes, can this old doctor cure other ailments?”

”What’s the matter?” Ye Qing asked curiously. ”You’re sick?”

”You’re the one who’s sick!” Zhao Chengshuang retorted irritably. ”My grandfather suffers from chronic rheumatic knees. Whenever it rains, the pain is unbearable. Do you think he can do something about it?”

Ye Qing replied, ”Rheumatic knees? That’s not hard to cure!”

”Are you kidding me? Rheumatism is easy to treat?” Zhao Chengshuang glared at him. ”My grandfather’s knees have been tormenting him for decades. He’s visited countless doctors but found no relief. Easy to treat? Really?”

”Well, you never mentioned it to me before.” Ye Qing said, ”Rheumatism is actually treatable with a simple remedy I know.”

”Seriously?” Zhao Chengshuang asked in astonishment, staring at Ye Qing. ”You’re a soldier, right? Since when did you learn medicine?”

The method Ye Qing referred to was, of course, part of the Acupoint Seeking Technique. However, he couldn’t disclose this to Zhao Chengshuang, so he brushed it off with a casual smile and began inquiring about Zhao Chengshuang’s grandfather’s symptoms.

Zhao Chengshuang’s grandfather only had common rheumatism, which was relatively easy to treat. Clearing the cold energy from his body with Inner Strength would suffice. Previously, Ye Qing couldn’t project his Inner Strength externally, so he couldn’t address this ailment. But now that the meridians in his arms were opened, enabling Internal Energy Release, he could cure such conditions.

Even so, considering Zhao Chengshuang’s grandfather’s advanced age and frailty, Ye Qing dismissed the idea of using Inner Strength to treat him. Instead, he opted for the acupuncture method recorded in the Acupoint Seeking Technique, which was simpler and less demanding—ideal for someone like Zhao Chengshuang’s grandfather.

Ye Qing initially planned to share this treatment method with the old doctor so he could treat Zhao Chengshuang’s grandfather. However, upon hearing about the rheumatic condition, the old doctor immediately quoted a price—ten thousand yuan for curing it.

Having witnessed the elderly doctor cure Wu Yian’s stroke, Ye Qing already deeply respected his medical skills. Now, with the doctor quoting a confident price, Ye Qing’s admiration for him grew stronger. Without hesitation, he took the old doctor to Zhao Chengshuang’s home for the treatment.

Zhao Chengshuang’s grandfather was initially skeptical, but after one session of acupuncture, the discomfort in his leg significantly eased. Hope ignited in him, and he wished he could keep the old doctor at home permanently. For someone plagued by rheumatism for decades, finding relief felt like a godsend.

Again witnessing the old doctor’s impressive talent, Ye Qing felt even more awe. Truly, hidden experts are born from the remote mountains. Who could have imagined that such a divine doctor was hiding deep within the wilderness?

Of course, Ye Qing had no idea that this ”divine doctor” was actually a young man—and Ning Qianshu’s disciple at that. Such ailments were mere trifles to him! Yet after curing two individuals, he gained Ye Qing’s trust and admiration, pushing his master plan further toward success.

Leaving Zhao Chengshuang’s home, Ye Qing drove the old doctor back to the hotel. After witnessing two successful treatments, Ye Qing’s attitude toward him grew increasingly respectful.

”With your medical expertise, sir, you’d surely flourish if you opened a clinic in the city!” Ye Qing remarked softly while driving.

”I used to run a clinic, but now I’m too old to manage it!” The old doctor replied reminiscently, sighing. ”When I was young, I could sit in the clinic all day without feeling tired. But now I’m old—I no longer have the stamina to sit and consult patients all day. Living like this is better. A few occasional cases are enough to earn a bit of money to sustain myself; earning heaps of money is pointless nowadays!”

This sly fellow charged over ten thousand per case—was this really considered ”a bit of money”?

Ye Qing wasn’t about to call him out directly and simply chuckled lightly. ”You’re a man of great wisdom, sir!”
