Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing listened to the boastful conversation of those people outside while in the restroom, and couldn’t help but chuckle inwardly. These fools are right at death’s door yet remain so arrogant, bragging as if they were immortal.

After eavesdropping on their exchange for a while, Ye Qing roughly figured out how many people were outside and where each of them was positioned. Then, he quietly pushed open the restroom door. As the group inside continued boasting with saliva flying everywhere, Ye Qing suddenly burst out like an arrow released from a bow, charging straight to the doorway.

The people inside the room were caught completely off guard by someone suddenly rushing out of the restroom. Before they could even see clearly who it was, Ye Qing reached the door and immediately turned off all the lights in the room.

”What’s going on?” someone shouted in alarm, while Huang Boxiong quickly got up and yelled, ”Be careful! Be careful!”

But their warnings were already useless. The room descended into pitch darkness; no one could see a thing. Ye Qing, however, was different. Although he couldn’t see either, his years of military training had taught him how to swiftly memorize the layout of a room and take full advantage of it. While in the restroom earlier, he had already pinpointed everyone’s positions and devised the most precise attack plan based on the room’s layout.

As soon as the lights went out, Ye Qing reached for the person closest to the door, landing a punch right on his temple that knocked him out cold before he had a chance to react. Then, Ye Qing took two quick steps forward and pounced on the next two men standing nearby. While the pair were still panicking over the sudden blackout, Ye Qing struck swiftly, incapacitating both of them.

Of the remaining five, it didn’t take long before Ye Qing used lightning-fast moves to knock them out as well, each cleanly subdued in record time. Huang Boxiong was lucky; he wasn’t struck down but ended up being pinned to the ground with Ye Qing’s hand covering his mouth.

With the opponents subdued, Ye Qing finally turned on a nearby light, and the room lit up once more. Where eight men had previously stood, seven were now lying on the floor—some clutching their stomachs, unable to utter a sound, while others lay unconscious. Ye Qing hadn’t shown the slightest mercy; even those who hadn’t been knocked out had their internal organs severely injured.

Huang Boxiong fared slightly better; he hadn’t been hit. However, the scene left him completely stunned. He had originally relied on his group of eight men, thinking they could crush Ye Qing even if stacked like human pyramids. But who could have imagined that these eight wouldn’t even last a minute against Ye Qing—none had even managed to retaliate before being thoroughly dealt with.

”Ye Qing, you… What are you trying to do?” Huang Boxiong stammered nervously, sensing that the situation was becoming dire. But with Ye Qing standing by the door, there was no opportunity for escape.

”Hold on,” Ye Qing said with a faint smile. He walked over to the few conscious men and delivered an additional punch to each one, knocking them out as well. And with that, all seven of Huang Boxiong’s men were unconscious and sprawled on the floor.

As his apprehension mounted, Huang Boxiong gritted his teeth and said, ”Ye Qing, regarding the orphanage matter, I spoke well on your behalf. But the provincial committee’s decision has nothing to do with me. If you want trouble, you shouldn’t come for me!”

Ye Qing stared quietly at Huang Boxiong and remarked, ”Leader Huang, let’s not play games here. If you truly hadn’t sabotaged me, why would I be seeking you out now? Since I’ve come to find you, do you really think I don’t know what you did behind my back?”

Huang Boxiong opened his mouth to deny it but quickly shut it upon seeing Ye Qing’s expression. Judging from Ye Qing’s demeanor, it was evident that he was at least ninety percent aware of what had been done. To deny it now would only make him seem foolish.

”What do you plan to do?” Huang Boxiong asked coldly. ”Ye, you know my family’s position and influence. I’ll tell you straight: My father is the Vice Secretary of the East State Municipal Committee, and my uncle is the Vice Secretary of the Eastern Province Committee. Either one of them could crush you with a finger. If you dare to lay a single finger on me tonight, I guarantee you won’t leave Eastern Province City alive!”

”Oh, really?” Ye Qing said with a faint smile as he stepped closer to Huang Boxiong. Suddenly, he reached out and grabbed Huang Boxiong’s wrist, twisting it sharply until it dislocated.

Writhing in pain, Huang Boxiong opened his mouth to scream, but Ye Qing swiftly grabbed a pillow and pressed it over his face, muffling his cries.

”Huff… Huff…” Huang Boxiong gasped heavily through gritted teeth, trembling in agony as he glared at Ye Qing with venomous hatred. ”Ye Qing, you… how dare you lay hands on me! I swear… I swear I won’t let you get away with this! Don’t think that just because you have Liu Changping and Zhou Bolong backing you, you can act recklessly. My uncle outranks Zhou Bolong in the provincial committee. You touch me again, and I swear he’ll never let you off—never!”

”Never let me off…” Ye Qing murmured casually, eyeing Huang Boxiong calmly without a hint of concern. ”And then what?”

”You… You’ll die horribly!” Huang Boxiong spat through clenched teeth.

”Oh, is that so?” Ye Qing replied with a smile. ”I think you have a point. I’ve spilled a lot of blood already; odds are I’ll meet a gruesome end someday. Unfortunately for you, though, you won’t live to see that day!”

”What… What do you mean?” Huang Boxiong asked, trembling with fear.

”You still don’t understand?” Ye Qing smiled faintly. ”What I mean is, tonight is your last night alive.”

”You’re… you’re planning to kill me?” Huang Boxiong paled, his face more frantic than ever. ”You’re bluffing! You wouldn’t dare kill me—you can’t!”

”Huang Boxiong, listen carefully!” Ye Qing said solemnly, staring at Huang Boxiong. ”I’ve told you before, the orphanage was never about personal gain—it was simply a way to give those poor children a place to call home. Regardless of the things I’ve done, those children are innocent. If you wanted revenge or had grievances, you could have come to me directly. Why did you have to destroy those kids’ last hope? If you’d handled the orphanage matter earnestly, whether successful or not, you would’ve been my friend and benefactor. But instead, you didn’t take it seriously at all, and worse, you caused those children to lose their shelter.”

He sighed and slowly stood up, looking down at Huang Boxiong. ”To me, what you’ve done is unforgivable—worthy of death. That’s why I came to Dongzhou to take your life.”

”Ye, if you touch me and I die here, my father and uncle will ensure you pay for it. Even if you flee to the Ends of the Earth, they’ll find and destroy you—and everyone close to you. You don’t believe me? Try it!”

Ye Qing chuckled softly, replying, ”If I’m the one who kills you, it sure would cause trouble. But what if I’m not?”

Huang Boxiong froze in confusion, staring at Ye Qing. ”What… What do you mean? Ye, don’t kid yourself! Modern police have advanced investigative systems. If you kill me, you’ll never escape. Once I’m gone, my uncle and my father will absolutely pressure the police department, and the case will be solved no matter what. Liu Changping and Zhou Bolong won’t be able to shield you!”

”Why would I need them to protect me?” Ye Qing retorted. ”I already told you—I’m not killing you.”

”What are you up to?” Huang Boxiong asked, puzzled. Ye Qing’s flipping between threats and dismissals left him completely bewildered.

Ye Qing smirked and pulled a device from his pocket—the same one given to him by King of Explosives. He slowly placed it in front of Huang Boxiong.

”Leader Huang, do you know what this is?” Ye Qing asked.

”What is it?” Huang Boxiong nervously eyed the device. It vibrated gently, its red light blinking ominously. Instinctively, he knew it was something dangerous.

”This is a detection device—one designed to locate remote-controlled bombs,” Ye Qing explained. ”If there’s a bomb nearby, this thing will detect it and flash red.”

Looking at the detector, Huang Boxiong stammered, ”It’s blinking now! You’re bluffing. Are you saying there’s a bomb here?”

Ye Qing smiled faintly. ”What do you think?”

A wave of panic washed over Huang Boxiong as he frantically scanned his surroundings. ”You’re trying to intimidate me! Ye, do you think bombs are so easy to set up? Remote-controlled bombs? Nonsense! I’m not falling for this!”

”Not afraid? Even better.” Ye Qing grinned. ”This bomb wasn’t originally meant for you. But since you’re here, consider it a gift.”

”You’re bluffing! I’m not scared!” Huang Boxiong yelled in defiance.

With a chuckle, Ye Qing said casually, ”The bomb’s power isn’t immense, but if it explodes, everything in this room—including everyone inside—will be blown to bits. Leader Huang, modern forensic techniques may be advanced, but do you think investigators can pull any evidence from mangled chunks of meat scattered across the room?”

Visibly shaken, Huang Boxiong shivered and snarled, ”Ye, stop scaring me. Let me go now, or you’ll regret it!”

”Regret it? Looks like you’ll have to wait for your next lifetime to see that.” Ye Qing said with icy calm. ”Leader Huang, if there really is a next life, I hope you’ll learn from your mistakes and be a better person.”

He patted Huang Boxiong on the shoulder and rose to his feet, concluding grimly, ”As for this life, your time to turn over a new leaf is up.”
