Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 447: Chapter 427: Registration

After helping Lu Simiao move, Qin Wen had taken over the responsibility of Lu Simiao’s school registration, since she needed to start school.

That day, Qin Nuan arrived at the Luo Family’s home early. Luo Yanran had already gone to film, and Qin Nuan was there to wait for Luo Qianqian to enroll.

Luo Qianqian had declined her grandparents and aunt’s offers to accompany her to registration, fearing that the classmates she hadn’t yet met might play tricks on her because of her family background.

This was also a concern for Yue Tingyu, Jia Ning, and Ye Qianying, so they didn’t insist on going.

”Dragging one suitcase is enough, you can come back for the rest. Your suitcase is too big, it won’t fit in the dorm,” Qin Nuan said, occasionally giving advice while watching Luo Qianqian pack. She also carried a small suitcase, apparently planning to return to school early to settle in.

Luo Qianqian, upon hearing this, switched to a smaller suitcase, casually stuffed a few clothes, added the military training sunscreen she had prepared, some pure cotton T-shirts, underwear, and then zipped up the suitcase.

The two calmly took a taxi. Qin Wen initially wanted to drop them off but was refused by Qin Nuan. Having experienced a lifetime, she knew even better how revealing one’s family background at this time could affect discerning people’s intentions in the future. However, she had not considered another issue.

Luo Qianqian was thirteen this year, would only reach adulthood after four years, and she had her male idol. How could she be dazzled by confusing admirers?

As for friends, Luo Qianqian thought having Qin Nuan was enough. Her other classmates were just that—classmates. Time reveals a person’s heart, and she wasn’t foolish enough to wear her heart on her sleeve.

”There really are a lot of people.” Looking at the busy crowd in front of the school, bustling in all directions with large and small bags, Luo Qianqian clicked her tongue. It was noteworthy she remembered having gone very early to register in her previous life, when there were only a few people about.

”No kidding, it’s the last day for registration,” Qin Nuan said irritably.

Then, a young man approached, ”Junior sister, are you here to register? Which department?” Clearly, he was talking to Qin Nuan; in his eyes, Luo Qianqian was just a younger sister tagging along for registration: ”Your sister is really cute.” Sure enough...

”Heh.” Luo Qianqian forced a smile.

”Sorry, I’m a sophomore, I’m here with my sister to register,” Qin Nuan couldn’t help laughing as she watched Luo Qianqian’s expression, ”So you don’t need to bother with this fellow student, I know all the places you know.”

”Sister...” The young man looked at Luo Qianqian and fell silent.

Qin Nuan, pleased with herself, led Luo Qianqian away.

Luo Qianqian glanced sideways at Qin Nuan, ”Since when did I become your sister?”

Then she leisurely waited for Qin Nuan to answer.

Who knew Qin Nuan would roll her eyes, ”Who calls my brother dear big brother Second Brother Qin? Then since I’m older than you, don’t you also have to call me sister? Still want to deny it?”

”Oh? Then my brother-in-law?” She hadn’t finished speaking when she saw Qin Nuan glaring at her.

”Forget I said anything,” Luo Qianqian quickly admitted her mistake.

With Qin Nuan’s help, she quickly registered, and everyone around was invariably surprised by Luo Qianqian’s age.

The teacher in charge of dorm assignments frowned, looking at Qin Nuan, ”Is this your sister? The women’s dormitory for the computer science department is overfilled, your sister is the last to register, I don’t know if another department might have someone to fill that dormitory.” Because Luo Qianqian had arrived so late, she was possibly the last to register, and the dorms for each department were just filled, it seemed from the teacher’s tone that Luo Qianqian might end up living in a dorm on her own.

Just as Luo Qianqian was about to nod in agreement, she heard Qin Nuan say, ”Teacher, could you please arrange for her to move into our dorm? Our families are both in Capital City, so we often go home. It wouldn’t be safe for her to be alone in the dormitory, considering her young age.”

Luo Qianqian’s eyes widened.

Who knew the teacher would say, ”Isn’t this the northern city? How come your home is in Capital City?”

Luo Qianqian touched her head, ”My grandfather’s house is on this side; the old man likes having his grandchildren around, so he hopes we come home for the holidays.” She said earnestly.

Old Master Luo expressed his innocence; he only wished for his granddaughter to be around. As for grandchildren crowding around, he could do without that, as seeing those few rascals just made his teeth ache.

The teacher nodded, ”Your dormitory has empty beds?” looking at Qin Nuan.

”Three, actually.”

Qin Nuan would never admit that she too had registered on the last day; it’d be too embarrassing in front of Luo Qianqian.

The teacher looked meaningfully at Qin Nuan, asked about the dorm, then placed the freshman into Qin Nuan’s dormitory.

After asking for her name, the teacher was even more surprised, ”You’re not even relatives and you’re taking care of her this much?”

”This is my sister-in-law,” Luo Qianqian stuck out her tongue with a smile plastered across her face.

The teacher had a sudden look of realization and didn’t forget to remind Qin Nuan to be safe. What safety, guess.

Qin Nuan’s dormitory was still empty, their dorm people hadn’t arrived yet, she pointed at the lower bunk by the window, ”This is my spot, no one above, the rest are upper bunks, if you don’t like it, I can swap with you.”

Luo Qianqian shook her head with a playful smile, ”Sis is taking such good care of me? I won’t help you say good things to my brother.”

”Stop it,” Qin Nuan gave her a look, opened her suitcase, took out the sheets, and started making the bed, then she looked at Luo Qianqian’s empty bed board and slapped her forehead, ”I knew I forgot something, I didn’t bring a quilt!”

”The notice said, grandma prepared it, just bring it tomorrow,” Luo Qianqian waved her hand, not caring. Neither of them planned to stay here tonight anyways.

Qin Nuan nodded, and the two cleaned up the dorm a bit before Qin Nuan allocated an empty storage locker to Luo Qianqian.

”Damn.” Qin Nuan was wiping the windowsill when she suddenly exclaimed.

Luo Qianqian approached with a puzzled look on her face, ”What’s wrong?”

Qin Nuan pointed to a person downstairs, who was holding a bunch of flowers and looking affectionately at the girls’ dorm, a guitar also placed under the tree behind him.

”Wow, someone’s confessing love before school even starts? That bold?” Luo Qianqian was surprised upon seeing the smartly dressed boy.

Qin Nuan was speechless, ”That’s a playboy, okay? You watch, the person he’s confessing to is definitely one of those who showed off their richness when their family came to drop them off.”

Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes, ”I get why you didn’t let Second Brother Qin drop you off to avoid those with bad intentions, but why not let him drop me? You know I’m still just a kid.”

”Your family’s kid brought home their crush so early?” Qin Nuan rolled her eyes, ”Him, he’s like an clingy plaster, once attached, you can’t shake him off.”

”He pursued you?”

”No.” Qin Nuan shook her head, ”My eyes and his future actions tell me so.”

”Heh, what’s it to us? Let’s hurry and pack up, we’re going home to eat soon and you should also call my brother, spare yourself the boredom of analyzing someone else chasing young girls,” Luo Qianqian said indifferently as she closed the window.

However, not long after, as they were heading downstairs, a surprising turn of events occurred; the man stuffed the flowers into Qin Nuan’s arms.

Qin Nuan’s eyes widened.

Luo Qianqian’s mouth dropped open.

The man said, ”Hello, I am...”

”Hold on a second.” Luo Qianqian immediately interrupted him.

The boy frowned as he looked toward Luo Qianqian.

”This is my sister-in-law, she doesn’t like red roses, she’s picky and doesn’t like this kind of rose that pretends to be something else, just like false affections,” Having just heard the stories about this person, Luo Qianqian indicated for him to get lost.

Qin Nuan looked at the protective Luo Qianqian, slightly amused, nodded, ”My little sister-in-law is right.”

To this label, Luo Qianqian was unable to accept.

”???” The boy was baffled, staring at the two women, one tall, one small.

”Sorry, but I have a fiancé,” Qin Nuan stuffed the flowers back into the boy’s arms, hooking a corner of her lips, her gaze icy, ”Thanks for your affection, goodbye.”

Seeing Qin Nuan’s off mood, Luo Qianqian didn’t ask until they were out of school, ”What’s up? You suddenly got so cold, are you mad? Then I won’t say you’re my sister-in-law anymore,” Luo Qianqian sincerely apologized, it was just a reflexive act.

”How do you think that person knew to come by taxi, what’s my family’s background?”

”If it wasn’t by chance, then someone must have told him... you mean...”

Qin Nuan nodded, her eyes slightly darkened, ”Seems like it’s getting interesting. Aren’t some matches supposed to last forever? Why would they have time to scheme against me?”

With Qin Nuan putting it that way, Luo Qianqian understood what Qin Nuan implied.
