Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 441: Chapter 421: Preparation Before Going to School

Early in the morning, Luo Qianqian was excitedly woken up by Yue Tingyu, while Old Master Luo’s breakfast had degenerated into noodles, hurriedly made only upon seeing him get up, showing just how perfunctory it was. Since the nanny wasn’t yet at the Luo Family’s house when Old Master Luo got up, it was always Yue Tingyu who prepared breakfast.

Luo Qianqian’s breakfast was store-bought milk bread, and in the sympathetic gaze of Old Master Luo, she was pulled out the door by Granny and her aunt.

Old Master Luo didn’t forget to stuff two banknotes into his granddaughter’s hands, for snacks and drinks. Though his wife and daughter-in-law would certainly not shortchange his granddaughter, she would definitely be walking nonstop, Old Master Luo, looking at the sandals on Luo Qianqian’s feet, advised, ”If you’re tired, buy a pair of slippers, slippers, alright?”

Luo Qianqian nodded and then looked at the closed front door, both granddaughter and grandfather silently praying for each other.

Luo Qianqian: Praying Grandpa didn’t forget to put salt in his noodles this morning.

Old Master Luo: Praying that my granddaughter won’t come back with swollen feet today.

Jia Ning was driving, Ye Qianying sat in the passenger seat, Luo Qianqian and Yue Tingyu were in the backseat, eating breakfast while discussing with the two in front what to go buy first.

Jia Ning, ”First buy toiletries, makeup, and sunscreen, those are essentials.”

Ye Qianying, ”First buy clothes, kids won’t feel like shopping later on, and how will they try on clothes then?”

Yue Tingyu, ”I think we should first buy suitcases; how else to carry everything? It’s so tiring carrying bags.”

Granny made such a good point, it was indisputable. The two daughters-in-law of the Luo family thought to themselves in silence.

Fortunately, no matter what they needed to buy, one mall was enough. After watching Luo Qianqian finish her breakfast, the four of them got out of the car and began their shopping floor by floor.

”This one looks good, wrap it up.”

”Can a child use this? This kid, really? Okay, write up the bill.”

”This looks nice on, Qianqian, go try it.”

In less than half an hour, Luo Qianqian looked at the bags piling up on the ground, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. She wasn’t too tired yet but had already tried on three kinds of sunscreen, two kinds of daily moisturizers, and about twenty pieces of clothing.

Jia Ning made a phone call, and soon after, a young guy in a shirt came over. Jia Ning handed over the goods and, after giving him the location, continued shopping with empty hands.

Helpless, Luo Qianqian glanced at the young guy who was dazedly staring at the pile of bags on the ground, then caught up with her aunt’s pace.

However, the three were still very attentive to Luo Qianqian; they kept her supplied with drinks, ensuring she was full of energy before she became tired.

”Mom, this looks good on you.” As they shopped, the conversation veered off track, but Luo Qianqian was happy for the break, looking at Granny who had already bought two dresses and chiming in, ”Yes, Granny, this style will definitely look good on you, but this color is a bit aging, Granny is still young, are there other colors?” Anyone who didn’t know better would definitely think Luo Qianqian was a sales associate in the store, her flattery unceasing and cheerful.

Yue Tingyu looked at Luo Qianqian reproachfully and picked up the clothing, ”You’re just too lazy to try it on.”

In reality, unless the clothing needed to fit the body shape, the three of them would place the order directly; they didn’t need Luo Qianqian to try it on, did they?

Watching Yue Tingyu enter the fitting room, Luo Qianqian began looking for clothes suitable for her two aunts.

Then, her eyes lit up at the sight of a white shirt. It wasn’t particularly special, but the antique sandalwood buttons appealed to Luo Qianqian’s taste. After a moment of thought, Luo Qianqian waved her hand decisively and said, ”I’ll take one that’s suited for someone 185 cm tall with a good physique.” Although her voice wasn’t loud, Jia Ning and Ye Qianying, who had been paying attention to her all along, immediately noticed.

They wondered which member of their family stood at 185 cm tall, considering that only Luo Yanran and Luo Yanwu had impressive physiques; the other two were nothing but sinew and couldn’t possibly fill out those slim sleeves.

Luo Yanwu was 183, Luo Yanran was 181; they usually wore size 180, which was more than sufficient.

What Luo Qianqian was thinking was that even though he was just over 180 cm now and still young, he would probably grow taller than 185 cm, right? Therefore, she changed the originally intended 180 to 185. As for whom she wanted to give it to, it was quite obvious.

Luo Yanran? She wouldn’t bother with him. With Qin Nuan around, would it even be her turn?

Looking around, she spotted a nice blue shirt that felt good to the touch. Luo Qianqian thought of Luo Shufan, rolled her eyes and mentally reviewed her brother’s information, then said, ”Same size as before, wrap it up.” Then, she sneaked off to pay for it while her aunt wasn’t watching.

The two pretending to browse clothes grew even more puzzled.

When Yue Tingyu came out, Luo Qianqian had just finished paying, and she looked at Granny with admiration, ”It’s beautiful, buy it.”

Yue Tingyu felt a little embarrassed as she looked at herself in the mirror, but she was quite satisfied and nodded.

Ye Qianying even suggested directly, ”Just wear it out. It’s perfect for trying on shoes and accessories.”

Jia Ning nodded repeatedly, and the two were so distracted by Granny that Luo Qianqian managed to sneak the two shirts into the bag with her newly purchased skirt while maintaining an innocent expression.

As for shoes, Ye Qianying, a military wife with two sons who were soldiers, had the most influence. As a result, Luo Qianqian ended up with a majority of good-looking, practical, and comfortable shoes in her luggage. She did buy a few extravagant ones, though—not practical, really. Being the only granddaughter of the Luo family, she would need to attend banquets; hence she casually bought two simple pairs. The prices made Luo Qianqian feel embarrassed, as she never imagined she would ever consider five-figure shoes.

For trousers, after measuring her size, Jia Ning simply picked a few styles and had them wrapped up. It wasn’t bothersome at all.

Luo Qianqian sat to one side, watching her aunt and Granny shop without showing any signs of fatigue, and she sighed; she really was out of her depth.

Just as she was about to suggest having lunch since it was noon, she heard Jia Ning say, ”We don’t need to get a gown now, we can just have someone send the catalog to our home and choose from there. Most of Qianqian’s clothes are understated and not very famous; nobody should take notice of them.”

”That’s what I was thinking too. We’ll just take a taxi and send Qianqian straight to school,” replied Granny.

Luo Qianqian then understood why they had passed by brand-name stores but only picked out clothes that didn’t reveal their origin. Even the clothes they had just bought weren’t as expensive as those branded undergarments.

Although Luo Qianqian was the only granddaughter of the Luo family, she had never appeared at formal events; however, Chang Xi definitely would not fail to recognize Luo Qianqian.

Thinking of Chang Xi, Luo Qianqian finally realized what she had forgotten—didn’t she have a little brother still waiting at the hotel???

After cooperatively finishing the shopping, Luo Qianqian said goodbye to her Granny and aunt and, dragging legs that barely felt like her own, took a taxi back to the hotel. There, Lu Simiao, groggy and without a hint of annoyance, opened the door and asked, ”Sis? Why are you here?”

Luo Qianqian had just begun to apologize when she saw Lu Simiao shake his head and say, ”I know you’re busy, Sis. I can’t be a burden to you.” As he pulled Luo Qianqian into the room, he pointed to his computer and said, ”I have my computer to keep me company.”

Feeling both guilty and upset, Luo Qianqian struck upon a solution. ”Simiao, do you want to go to school?”
