I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

“Boss, we’re going to dig in now,”

Both Xia Xiaoyue and Mu Qingye said excitedly.

They couldn’t wait any longer.

Of course, Ling Xiaoru felt the same way.

Li You smiled. “Go ahead and eat.”

“Thanks, Boss!”

The three of them started to eat, beginning with a taste of the Nine-Turned Pork Intestines.

For Xia Xiaoyue and Mu Qingye, the other mushroom dishes were a guaranteed delight. The only uncertainty was the Nine-Turned Pork Intestines.

Although it looked quite good, in the end, they had to taste it to be sure.

They decided to first try the Nine-Turned Pork Intestines, the dish they were unsure about. ‘Is it good?’

With one taste, the answer was revealed.

It was incredibly delicious!

The flavor was truly excellent. It even had a pleasant aftertaste that left them wanting more.

This was a wonderful surprise for both of them.

‘So, pork intestines can actually be delicious. It all comes down to mastering the right, expert cooking techniques.’

‘The next time someone says pork intestines are disgusting, I’ll tell them to come here and try the Nine-Turned Pork Intestines.’

‘Maybe… it’ll change their mind.’

This thought crossed both Xia Xiaoyue’s and Mu Qingye’s minds.

Ling Xiaoru was also pleasantly surprised. The Nine-Turned Pork Intestines today tasted even better than the last time she’d had them.

“Boss, the Nine-Turned Pork Intestines are even better than last time. Is it because the quality of the ingredients was better this time?” Ling Xiaoru asked.

Li You nodded. “That’s right. I didn’t get the best ones last time. These are much better.”

“I knew it. It seems the quality of the ingredients really does make a huge difference,” Ling Xiaoru added.

Li You nodded again. “It does. Now, try the mushrooms.”

“Okay!”

The three of them agreed and began to eat the mushrooms.

Different mushrooms, different preparations. Each dish was incredibly savory, yet they all had distinct textures and flavors.

This left the three of them once again marveling in surprise.

Eating so many different, yet equally delicious, mushrooms at once was an unparalleled culinary experience.

This was a mushroom feast they had never enjoyed before.

Xia Xiaoyue, Mu Qingye, and Ling Xiaoru were all very excited.

Meanwhile, the other customers in the restaurant watched with envy.

The mushrooms looked absolutely delicious, and they desperately wanted a taste.

Even though the food on their own tables was just as exquisite, that didn’t stop them from wanting to try other delicacies.

When it came to delicious food, the more, the merrier.

They desperately wanted to ask if they could have a taste, too.

But in the end, they were too embarrassed to ask.

If only Li You was eating, they would have had no trouble asking. But with three beautiful women there, there was no way they could bring themselves to ask.

However, Li You sensed that everyone really wanted to try, so he said, “There’s still quite a bit of the chicken and chanterelle mushroom soup in the pot. If no one minds, I’d like to share it with everyone.”

There wasn’t enough of the other mushroom dishes to share, but there was plenty of the chicken and chanterelle soup to go around.

And Li You was more than happy to share it.

Every customer in the restaurant, including the business owners Zhao Yu, Xie Hai, and Deng Luping, was ecstatic when they heard Li You’s offer.

‘Mind? How could we possibly mind?’

This was a cause for nothing but joy and excitement.

The customers were overjoyed. “That’s wonderful, Boss! Thank you, thank you so much!”

“Well, don’t mind if we do, Boss!”

“To be honest, we really wanted to have some.”

“Thanks, Boss!”

“…”

Seeing how happy everyone was, Li You was pleased as well. He smiled. “No need to be so formal. Good food is meant to be shared. I’ll have Da Bai and Xiaohai bring some soup out for you.”

“Great, great, thank you, Boss!”

Da Bai and Xiaohai went into the kitchen and started ladling soup for the customers. Each person got their own large bowl.

Each bowl had plenty of chanterelle mushrooms and chicken in it, not just broth.

The customers who received the soup took a gentle sniff. The aroma was incredibly savory and fragrant.

They eagerly took a sip. Their mouths were instantly filled with a deeply satisfying, savory flavor.

The chanterelle and chicken soup was simply divine.

‘I have to find some chanterelles in the mountains and buy a chicken to make this soup at home.’

‘It definitely won’t taste as good as the boss’s, but it should still be pretty decent.’

After another sip of soup, they picked out a piece of chanterelle and chicken to eat.

After tasting them, the customers were once again blown away.

The chanterelles and chicken were just as delicious as the soup.

The customers were all very satisfied.

“Boss, this is incredible. Thank you so much!”

Filled with satisfaction, the customers all thanked Li You once again.

Li You just smiled and told them not to worry about it, saying he was happy as long as they enjoyed the food.

Seeing the customers’ reactions, Xia Xiaoyue, Mu Qingye, and Ling Xiaoru also felt an inexplicable sense of joy.

They continued eating the mushrooms and the Nine-Turned Pork Intestines, adding a bowl of rice to their meal.

Absolutely perfect!

They decided not to drink alcohol this afternoon.

Gradually, all the mushroom dishes and the Nine-Turned Pork Intestines on the table were finished. There was still some soup left.

All three wanted to drink more soup, but they were simply too stuffed to have another drop.

‘We’ll just have to save it for tonight.’

They decided to take a walk outside to help digest their meal.

The customers had also basically finished eating by this time.

Some said their goodbyes and left, while others lingered outside the restaurant.

The business owners—Zhao Yu, Xie Hai, and Deng Luping—had already departed.

Li You also came out and resumed weaving his fishing cages.

Finishing the cages by the end of the day wouldn’t be a problem.

Of the customers lingering outside, some were playing games, while others chatted as they watched Li You work on his cages.

After taking a stroll through the gardens, Xia Xiaoyue, Mu Qingye, and Ling Xiaoru returned.

They also settled in to watch Li You weave.

Xia Xiaoyue and Mu Qingye planned to go back to school after watching Li You finish weaving the cages.

If it got too late to go back today, they would just go back tomorrow.

Besides, their classes for the next couple of days weren’t important, so skipping them was fine. They had gotten quite used to staying here and found it very comfortable.

A customer looked at Mu Qingye, hesitated for a long time, and finally walked up and said, “Mu, can I play a match of *King of Fighters ’97* with you?”

In the last *King of Fighters ’97* tournament, although Mu Qingye only got sixth place in the end, she was undoubtedly the center of attention at the entire event.

After that tournament, many guys hoped to be able to play a match against Mu Qingye.

The customer who had just challenged Mu Qingye was no exception.

Now, he waited nervously and expectantly for her reply.

Mu Qingye looked at the customer, hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “Of course, I’d be honored. But just one match. Is that okay?”

“Yes, yes, of course! One match is perfect, just one match,” the customer said repeatedly, thrilled and excited.

His dream of playing a match against Mu Qingye was finally coming true.

Mu Qingye smiled politely. “Thank you! Let’s get started then.”

“Great, great. Mu, after you!”

“After you.”

The two walked over to an arcade machine and took their seats. They selected *King of Fighters ’97* and began choosing their characters.

Naturally, this drew the attention of all the other customers. Everyone gathered around to watch with great interest.

Seeing Mu Qingye play again was a thrill.

Since the last tournament, many customers had been hoping to see Mu Qingye play again.

The customers present now were no exception.

Even Li You paused his work, his interest piqued.

Of course, Xia Xiaoyue and Ling Xiaoru were there cheering for Mu Qingye.

The match began quickly.

Mu Qingye’s skill was, needless to say, top-notch. But the customer wasn’t bad either, and they had a good back-and-forth, trading blows on offense and defense.

In the end, however, Mu Qingye’s superior skill won her the match.

Mu Qingye was very happy.

The customer wanted to play another round, but since they had agreed on just one, he couldn’t bring himself to ask. Instead, he said, “Mu, your skills are amazing. You’re much better than me.”

Although he lost, the customer was still excited.

Winning or losing this match against Mu Qingye wasn’t what was important.

The important thing was that he got to play a match against her. It was his dream, and the dream of many other guys.

Now, his dream had come true. When word got out, all the guys who hadn’t gotten their chance yet would be incredibly envious.

This would give him a sense of superiority and satisfaction.

That was the most important thing.

So, even though he lost, he was still excited.

“You’re very skilled too,” Mu Qingye said. “If we played another round, I might have been the one to lose.”

The customer was delighted to hear that. He laughed. “I’m glad you think so. I do think I have a chance of winning against you, but your skill is still a cut above. If we played a few more matches, you’d most likely win more than I would.”

“Thank you for saying so,” Mu Qingye replied.

Just then, Li You gave her a thumbs-up. “Mu, you’re incredible!”

Xia Xiaoyue and Ling Xiaoru both giggled. “Boss, you should go play a match with Sister Mu, too!” they chimed in.

Li You shook his head. “I’m no match for Mu. I’m not playing.”

“Don’t be scared, Boss.”

“Nope, not happening.”

“Go for it, Boss! We’re all rooting for you!” the customers cheered.

The customers were still excited after watching the previous match.

They were always excited to watch Mu Qingye play.

They wanted to see her play again. So, they were all hoping someone else would step up and challenge her.

However, if someone else challenged Mu Qingye, she might politely decline.

After all, Mu Qingye had just said she would only play one match.

But, if the boss stepped up, Mu Qingye would definitely not refuse.

That’s why all the customers were hoping Li You would play.

Mu Qingye also looked at Li You, her eyes full of expectation.

But Li You just kept waving his hands. “Nope, not happening. I have to get back to my cages.”

With that, he sat back down on his stool, picked up the unfinished cage, and resumed weaving.

Seeing that Li You was serious about not playing, the customers were all deeply disappointed.

‘What a shame. We won’t get to see Mu Qingye play again today.’

A look of disappointment also flashed across Mu Qingye’s face.

She then stepped away from the arcade machine and rejoined Xia Xiaoyue and Ling Xiaoru to watch Li You weave his cages.
