Chapter 50: Chapter 50: So There Was Nothing Wrong With Them

Liu Xu, Xiao Yue, and the others already knew Wei Ping.

Hearing this, they all looked at Wei Ping.

Liu Xu said, ”Master Wei, do you know about this dish? Please, tell us about it.”

Wei Ping said, ”I didn’t know about it before either. But the owner just explained it to me, and now I realize this dish is no simple matter.”

Then, Wei Ping explained the story behind Cabbage in Boiled Water.

After listening, Liu Xu, Xiao Yue, and the others grew quite excited.

’So there’s such an incredible dish in Sichuan cuisine.’

’I can’t believe we never knew about it. We really should have.’

In that case, they definitely had to try this dish.

It was certainly too expensive for one person to order alone.

But that was no problem. Several people could split one order.

There were twenty-six people in their group.

Aside from the five of them—Liu Xu, Xie Yunfei, Xiao Yue, Zhang Rui’Er, and Ning Wan—and the eight others who had come last weekend, the rest were all here for the first time.

These newcomers had never imagined they would come here.

’Drive for over two hours just for a bowl of plain noodles?’

’Isn’t that crazy?’

’No matter how good it is, it can’t be worth it!’

They had always thought there was something wrong with Liu Xu and the others.

But over the past week at the company, they had listened to Liu Xu’s group talk day in and day out about how delicious the Yangchun Noodles here were.

After hearing it so much, they were speechless at first. But slowly, they grew curious. Just how delicious could these noodles possibly be to make Liu Xu’s group drone on about them several times a day?

Driven by intense curiosity, they finally decided to be ”crazy” for once this weekend and follow Liu Xu’s group to try those Yangchun Noodles.

And so, they had all come along today.

After arriving, they found the place to be better than they had imagined.

The location was truly remote, but the scenery was also truly beautiful.

Jiulong Gorge really lived up to its reputation.

’It’s not bad just coming here for the view.’

When they reached the front of the restaurant, they learned that new dishes had been added to the menu. It wasn’t just Yangchun Noodles anymore.

And after hearing Wei Ping’s explanation of Cabbage in Boiled Water, they were finally a little surprised.

’This restaurant really does seem interesting.’

They were also very eager to try the Cabbage in Boiled Water.

After some discussion, the group decided to order six servings of Cabbage in Boiled Water.

As for everything else, they would each order for themselves.

Liu Xu and the others walked into the restaurant.

Just then, the Cabbage in Boiled Water that Wei Ping had ordered was ready.

Li You walked out of the kitchen carrying the Cabbage in Boiled Water.

”Hello, Owner!”

”Owner, we’re back again.”

Liu Xu and his group greeted Li You.

Li You had already recognized Liu Xu’s group’s voices from inside the kitchen.

Li You was always delighted when old customers returned. He smiled and said, ”Hello, and welcome. I’m very happy to see you all again.”

Liu Xu looked at the dish in Li You’s hands and added, ”Owner, is that the Cabbage in Boiled Water? It looks absolutely beautiful!”

Li You smiled. ”It’s not too bad, indeed.”

He then walked over to the table where Wei Ping and his family were seated.

He placed the Cabbage in Boiled Water on the table.

”Master Wei, please enjoy your meal,” Li You said.

Wei Ping had already returned to his seat. Hearing Li You, he nodded repeatedly. ”Yes, yes. Thank you for your hard work, Owner.”

Li You said, ”Not at all, it’s my pleasure.”

Then he excused himself and walked away.

”Owner, we’d like six orders of Cabbage in Boiled Water,” Liu Xu said to Li You.

”Six orders?” Li You was overjoyed and said quickly, ”Alright, alright, please wait a moment.”

He then hurried into the kitchen.

’That’s seven orders of Cabbage in Boiled Water sold already. It really feels like there’s hope of breaking 8,000 in revenue today.’

Li You was incredibly happy and full of anticipation!

Meanwhile, out in the dining hall, Wei Ping’s family began to eat the Cabbage in Boiled Water.

First the broth, then the cabbage.

After sipping the broth and each eating a piece of cabbage, the whole family was pleasantly surprised and utterly satisfied.

Because it was far, far more delicious than they had ever imagined.

”Master Wei, how is it?” Liu Xu couldn’t help but ask.

Wei Ping smiled faintly. ”I can only say that I’ve never had a broth this delicious. And I never imagined that a plain, simple cabbage could taste this good.”

These words made Liu Xu and the others even more unbearably eager to try it.

Finally, Li You emerged from the kitchen again, carrying Cabbage in Boiled Water.

One serving at a time, he made six trips in a row.

Everyone in Liu Xu’s group couldn’t wait to dig in.

They still started with the broth.

That first sip was an unprecedented, delightful surprise.

It was just as Master Wei had said—they had never tasted such a delicious broth.

Then they picked up a piece of cabbage to try.

And again, just as Master Wei had said, they never would have thought cabbage could be so delicious.

This was an absolute culinary masterpiece.

No wonder this dish could be a staple at state banquets.

It was truly extraordinary!

Liu Xu said to the person next to him, ”Old Yang, what do you think? Now you know why we could never get this place out of our minds, right?”

The person next to him was named Yang Jianfeng, one of the newcomers. He nodded repeatedly. ”I certainly do now. This restaurant is really something special.”

It wasn’t just Yang Jianfeng; all the other newcomers understood now too.

The Cabbage in Boiled Water looked surprising, but it tasted even more so.

A restaurant that could produce a dish like this was definitely not simple.

’After we go back today, I’m afraid we won’t be able to get this place out of our minds either.’

’But still, we have to try the noodles and see just how good they are.’

Because the thing that Liu Xu’s group couldn’t stop thinking about wasn’t the Cabbage in Boiled Water, but the Yangchun Noodles.

That was the very purpose of their trip today.

The Cabbage in Boiled Water was an unexpected surprise.

Next, it was time to taste the noodles.

They had already ordered them.

Some had ordered Yangchun Noodles, while others had ordered Beef Noodles.

Soon, the noodles they ordered were brought out one after another.

After seeing the noodles, whether it was the Yangchun Noodles or the Beef Noodles, they suddenly felt that they already knew the answer without even needing to taste them.

But of course, they still had to taste them.

They all dug in eagerly.

And after just one bite, they were completely certain: there was nothing wrong with Liu Xu and the others.

These noodles, even if they were the only thing on the menu, were absolutely worth the two-hour drive.
