I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: The Boss’s Skill is Godlike

However, along with his disbelief, Qu Feng felt a strange sense of pleasant surprise.

It turned out that Yangchun Noodles could be this delicious. It was a real eye-opener.

Yangchun Noodles like this were a rare find.

To be able to see it, and to eat it—for a noodle chef, this was an incredibly fortunate event.

This time, he had been thoroughly defeated.

But looking at it from another perspective, wasn’t this a stroke of luck in its own way?

So, Qu Feng stopped dwelling on winning or losing. He stood up and said to Li You, ”Boss, this bowl of Yangchun Noodles has been a real eye-opener. Your skill is far beyond mine. Only today did I learn that Yangchun Noodles could reach such a level. To be able to eat a bowl like this is my good fortune, and my honor.”

Qu Feng’s words surprised everyone present.

Then, they all nodded in silent approval.

It was rare to see someone lose with such grace and dignity.

Li You couldn’t help but feel a sense of admiration himself. He said sincerely, ”To receive such high praise from Master Qu is an honor for me as well.”

Qu Feng repeatedly expressed his humility.

Seeing Qu Feng so thoroughly convinced in his defeat, all the customers felt an unprecedented sense of satisfaction.

Beyond their satisfaction, they were also extremely glad they had chosen to come today.

Otherwise, how could they have witnessed such a scene with their own eyes?

And what came next was even more exciting and anticipated: they too would get to eat the Yangchun Noodles that had completely won over Qu Feng.

All the customers had long been eager to eat.

Besides the Yangchun Noodles, they wanted to eat the beef noodles and shredded potatoes, too.

”Boss, a large bowl of Yangchun Noodles.”

”Boss, one small bowl of Yangchun Noodles, one small beef noodles, and an order of stir-fried shredded potatoes.”

”Boss, same for me. One of each of the three.”

”Can you guys finish that much food?”

”Of course! Besides, if we really can’t finish it, we’ll eat the noodles first. Then we can get the stir-fried shredded potatoes to-go and eat it at home. Boss, you do take-out, right?”

”Yes, of course,” Li You said with a cheerful smile.

He was smiling on the outside, but his heart was blooming with joy.

’It looks like I might complete the random quest to provide take-out service for ten customers with just this one wave! This is a great surprise.’

Li You took out a pen and paper and wrote down each customer’s order.

Every single customer ordered something, including Jiang Caidong and Liang Heng.

In fact, they also ordered all three items: Yangchun Noodles, beef noodles, and stir-fried shredded potatoes.

Even Qu Feng ordered another small bowl of beef noodles and a side of stir-fried shredded potatoes.

Li You did a quick count. All together, everyone had ordered at least seventy or eighty bowls of noodles and about thirty orders of shredded potatoes.

’A rough calculation... did this one wave of customers just bring in around 1,500 yuan? With this, the main quest of earning 2,000 yuan in a week suddenly seemed very simple. This really is a great surprise.’

Li You asked the customers to wait a moment, then walked into the kitchen.

The kitchen was equipped by the system with two large stove burners and several smaller ones.

Seventy or eighty bowls of noodles was a lot, but by using several pots at once, he could cook them quite quickly.

First, he made the Yangchun Noodles.

After a flurry of activity, a bowl of Yangchun Noodles was placed in front of every customer.

Everyone had ordered the Yangchun Noodles.

They all dug in eagerly.

After the first bite, everyone understood even more clearly why Qu Feng had been so thoroughly convinced in his defeat.

It was truly even more delicious than they had imagined.

Eating noodles like this was an absolute pleasure.

’I can’t believe a bowl of noodles can be this good. And it’s a plain noodle dish, too.’

’This young boss’s skill is on another level!’

They slowly finished the noodles and drank every last drop of the soup, yet everyone was left wanting more.

Next up, the beef noodles.

Some had ordered them, some hadn’t.

However, the moment Li You brought out the first bowl of beef noodles, all those who hadn’t ordered it immediately chimed in, ”Boss, I want beef noodles too! A small bowl... no, a large one!”

Why the sudden change?

Because it was simply too tempting.

The clear, fragrant beef broth; the mouth-watering, tender beef; the bright red chili oil floating on top; the smooth, golden-yellow noodles; and the rich aroma wafting from it—who could possibly resist such a temptation?

They were actually starting to feel full.

But it didn’t matter. They could definitely finish a bowl of beef noodles like this.

It turned out the boss’s superb skills weren’t limited to just Yangchun Noodles; his beef noodles were incredible too.

Just looking at these beef noodles, you could tell they would be extremely delicious.

A short while later, a bowl of beef noodles was placed in front of everyone.

The noodles, the beef... it was enough to make you drool.

They couldn’t wait to dig in.

The smooth, refreshing noodles and the tender, fragrant beef were all the very definition of supreme culinary delight.

Compared to any beef noodles they had ever eaten before, this was countless times better.

The two weren’t even in the same league.

Eating noodles like this was truly enjoying life.

Every single person felt this way at that moment.

Jiang Caidong thought so too.

His restaurant, Mian Wei Jia, also served beef noodles, though it wasn’t their main feature.

But comparing its taste to this, the gap was enormous.

Jiang Caidong hated to admit it, but it was the undeniable truth.

’It’s hard to believe that such a young boss could master both Yangchun Noodles and beef noodles to such a high standard. This must be the definition of a gifted genius, right?’

Liang Heng and Qu Feng were feeling the same sense of awe.

Although neither of them specialized in beef noodles, they were certain that this bowl was absolutely at the top tier in the entire country.

Of course, the Yangchun Noodles were too.

’I really don’t understand how this young boss does it?’ both of them thought.

But their confusion didn’t stop them from eating.

At this moment, just like all the other customers, they were reveling in the joy brought by the beef noodles.

Li You was in the kitchen, stir-frying the shredded potatoes.

Most of the customers had ordered it, for a total of thirty-two portions.

Of course, it was possible that those who hadn’t ordered it yet would do so in a moment.

After a while, the customers began to finish their beef noodles.

By now, most of them were completely stuffed.

Even though they were full, they still wanted to eat more.

Because they hadn’t had the shredded potatoes yet.

But unfortunately, they really couldn’t eat another bite.

Their stomachs were just too small, after all.

’Oh well.’

’I’ll just get the shredded potatoes to-go and enjoy them at home later.’

”Boss, I’ll get the shredded potatoes to-go. I’m just too full to eat them now.”

Everyone who had ordered the shredded potatoes said the same thing.

This included Jiang Caidong, Liang Heng, and Qu Feng.

They couldn’t eat any more either.

Meanwhile, the few who hadn’t ordered the shredded potatoes started talking amongst themselves. ”Stir-fried shredded potatoes is a proper stir-fry dish. I wonder how good the boss is at stir-frying? I feel like there’s no way he can be as amazing at that as he is with noodles. After all, stir-frying and noodle-making are completely different skills.”

”The boss’s stir-fry skills must be top-notch too. It’s just that shredded potatoes is such an ordinary dish. It won’t let him truly showcase his technique. With a dish like this, I doubt there’s much difference between what a master chef and a regular cook can do.”

”I agree. That’s why I didn’t order the shredded potatoes, even though I actually really like them.”

”After eating two bowls of such incredibly delicious noodles, who has room for shredded potatoes anyway?”

”...”
