I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 51: Chapter 51: What Do the Boss’s Mulberries Taste Like?

As for Liu Xu and the others who had been here before, they all ordered the beef noodles or the stir-fried shredded potatoes this time.

When they eagerly started eating, they were once again pleasantly surprised.

The boss’s beef noodles and stir-fried shredded potatoes were, as expected, also incredibly delicious.

It was pretty much certain now: every single dish the boss served was a delicacy of the highest quality.

That included any new dishes he would continue to release.

The boss had said he would constantly be introducing new items.

’This is so exciting!’

Wei Ping’s family felt the same way.

After eating the beef noodles, they too were pleasantly surprised once again.

’This has to be the best beef noodle soup in the entire country, right?’

As everyone was eating, two more people walked in through the door.

It was Jiang Caidong and Liang Heng.

The two of them had rushed all the way here and finally arrived.

’Looks like the boss is doing great business today!’

They were a little surprised, but then again, it felt completely normal.

”Boss Jiang is here too.”

Jiang Caidong heard someone greet him and turned his head to look.

He recognized the person.

It was the first customer in his own restaurant who had said the Yangchun Noodles at Jiulong Gorge Restaurant were much, much better.

He smiled. ”So you’re here today as well, sir.”

The person who spoke was Wei Ping.

He had recognized Jiang Caidong the moment he walked in and decided to say hello.

He wasn’t surprised that Jiang Caidong would come. He’d heard from Li You that Boss Jiang had visited before.

”Hello, Boss Jiang!”

This time it was Liu Xu, Xie Yunfei, and the others greeting Jiang Caidong.

They recognized him too.

Jiang Caidong looked over and also recognized Liu Xu, Xie Yunfei, and their friends.

These were the customers who, on a second occasion, had also said in his restaurant that the Yangchun Noodles at Jiulong Gorge Restaurant were far superior.

It was precisely because they had said so that he and Liang Heng had decided to come here for the first time.

Everyone was here. It was a coincidence, but also not a coincidence.

”So you’re all here as well. Happy weekend, happy weekend,” Jiang Caidong replied with a smile.

Just then, Li You walked out of the kitchen, smiling. ”Boss Jiang, Master Liang, welcome.”

”Hello, Boss Li!” Jiang Caidong and Liang Heng said in unison.

Then, Jiang Caidong added, ”I heard you have a new dish, Boiled Cabbage in Supreme Broth, Boss Li. Master Liang and I came specifically to try it.”

Li You said, ”It’s my honor.”

Jiang Caidong replied, ”We’re the lucky ones. In that case, please bring us two orders of the Boiled Cabbage in Supreme Broth to start.”

Li You nodded. ”No problem. Please wait a moment, you two.”

”You’re too kind, Boss Li.”

Li You went back into the kitchen.

Jiang Caidong and Liang Heng found a place to sit and chatted with Wei Ping, Liu Xu, Xie Yunfei, and the others while waiting for their food.

”So, Boss Jiang, you came just for the Boiled Cabbage in Supreme Broth. That dish is truly amazing. We’d never even heard of it before,” said Liu Xu.

Jiang Caidong smiled. ”This dish’s fame is both great and not so great. It’s perfectly normal that you all hadn’t heard of it. The truth is, it’s incredibly difficult to make well. Aside from a few Special Chefs cooking it themselves, even high-level chefs might not be able to execute it perfectly. Master Liang, wouldn’t you agree?”

Liang Heng nodded. ”That’s right.”

Liu Xu, Xie Yunfei, Wei Ping, and the others were a bit surprised.

’So this dish is that hard to make.’

But no matter how difficult it was, Boss Li could handle it with ease.

This made Liu Xu, Xie Yunfei, Wei Ping, and the others excited all over again.

Liu Xu said, ”But Boss Li can make it the best.”

Jiang Caidong nodded. ”Master Liang and I also have faith in Boss Li’s skills.”

After they had chatted for a while, Li You came out again, carrying the Boiled Cabbage in Supreme Broth.

He placed it on the table where Jiang Caidong and Liang Heng were sitting.

Then he went back to the kitchen and brought out the other portion.

”Boss Jiang, Master Liang. Please, enjoy.”

”Yes, yes. Thank you for your hard work, Boss Li!”

After that brief exchange, Jiang Caidong and Liang Heng’s attention was completely focused on the Boiled Cabbage in Supreme Broth.

The broth was incredibly clear, truly like plain boiled water. Yet, its aroma was intensely rich.

’The quality of this broth is extremely high!’

’As expected, Boss Li’s skill with this dish is on another level.’

’His culinary abilities are truly unfathomable!’

’So, how does it actually taste?’

Both of them suddenly felt even more expectant. They eagerly scooped up a spoonful of broth to taste.

It was umami perfected.

Then they ate a piece of cabbage, and it too was umami perfected.

Both of them had eaten authentic Boiled Cabbage in Supreme Broth before. Although it was made by a high-level chef and wasn’t perfect, it was definitely authentic and tasted very good.

But compared to this one, the difference was stark.

’It seems only a Special Chef, cooking it themselves, can produce a perfect Boiled Cabbage in Supreme Broth.’

’And even if a Special Chef did cook it, I’m afraid it might not even surpass this one.’

Although they already knew Li You’s Boiled Cabbage in Supreme Broth would be authentic and delicious, they were still stunned.

’This Boss Li is really something else.’

”Boss Jiang, what do you think?” Liu Xu asked.

Xie Yunfei, Wei Ping, and everyone else all perked up their ears.

They all wanted to know what Jiang Caidong and Liang Heng’s evaluation would be.

Jiang Caidong said, ”It’s exceptionally delicious. Even if a Special Chef cooked it themselves, it might not be this good.”

This answer sent Liu Xu, Xie Yunfei, Wei Ping, and the others into a state of excitement.

Even though Jiang Caidong hadn’t been completely certain, just saying it ”might not” be as good was enough.

’The boss is truly on par with a Special Chef, or maybe even better.’

Awesome!

”Boss, we’ll have two small bowls of Yangchun Noodles and an order of stir-fried shredded potatoes,” Jiang Caidong said to Li You.

Li You nodded. ”Okay. It’ll be ready soon.”

By now, Liu Xu’s group and Wei Ping’s family had all finished eating.

They each scanned the code to pay.

Wei Ping’s family spent 618 yuan.

Liu Xu’s group spent a total of 4,124 yuan.

Adding the small bowl of Yangchun Noodles Ye Shengge had in the morning, the total revenue was 4,751 yuan.

If he added Jiang Caidong and Liang Heng’s 1,170 yuan...

The total would be 5,921 yuan.

’There’s a good chance of breaking 8,000 today.’

Li You was looking forward to it!

Liu Xu’s group and Wei Ping’s family walked out of the restaurant. Then, they all became interested in Li You’s orchard.

”It’s only been a few days, and the boss has even set up an orchard. Come on, let’s go check it out,” said Liu Xu.

”Okay!”

Everyone else, including Wei Ping’s family, was very enthusiastic.

Wei Ping’s two children were especially excited.

The group walked into the orchard, gathering around the various fruit trees to look and chat.

When Wei Ping’s two children saw the mulberries on the mulberry tree, they really wanted to eat some.

”Dad, can we eat them?”

Wei Ping said, ”I’ll go ask Uncle Li.”

With that, he turned and walked back toward the restaurant entrance.

He came back quickly and said, ”The boss said that anyone who wants some can pick and eat whatever they like.”

The two children cheered. Then they immediately climbed a mulberry tree and started picking mulberries.

Among Liu Xu’s group, many people saw the clusters of mulberries on the tree, found them very tempting, and couldn’t help but want to try some.

Someone laughed and said, ”I’m going to have some too. Let’s see what the boss’s mulberries taste like!”

”Then I’ll try some too.”

”Me too. I haven’t eaten these things in years.”

”Mulberries are hard to find in the city. You can’t even get them if you want them. I’ll have a few too.”

”...”

Many people started picking and eating the mulberries.

The rest, who hadn’t planned on eating any, saw everyone else doing it and felt tempted too.

So, they also started picking and eating.

Soon, everyone was picking and eating mulberries.
