I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: More Customers on the Weekend

Then, Liu Xu said, ”Let’s go, let’s head over. We’ll eat the noodles first. It’s already 11 o’clock, we can have lunch.”

Xie Yunfei, Xiao Yue, Zhang Rui’Er, and Ning Wan all agreed they should eat first before going to have fun.

The remaining eight people looked at each other, all thinking, ’Are they really in that much of a hurry?’

But none of them said a word.

Fine, eating it is.

And so, the group walked toward the restaurant.

Upon seeing Li You, Liu Xu laughed heartily. ”Boss, we’re back for more noodles! And I’ve brought you a lot more customers this time.”

Li You smiled. ”Thank you! Thank you so much! Please, everyone, come in, come in.”

Liu Xu said, ”You’re too kind, Boss. Let’s start with thirteen large bowls.”

Three women among the eight newcomers all spoke up. ”A small bowl, a small bowl! A small one is fine for me.”

Liu Xu said, ”You’d better get a large bowl. I’m afraid a small one won’t be enough. Look, Xiao Yue and Zhang Rui’Er are both getting large bowls.”

Xiao Yue nodded. ”You definitely need the large bowl. Trust me, you’ll be able to finish it.”

”Well... alright then.” The three women agreed.

Li You smiled. ”Alright. Please have a seat; it won’t be long.”

He then went into the kitchen.

Selling thirteen bowls at once—this was his single largest order since opening.

After this order, he would only be twelve bowls away from completing his mission.

’It feels like I’ll complete it very soon.’

Li You was in a cheerful mood.

Before long, all thirteen bowls of noodles had been served.

The moment Liu Xu and the other four from the original group saw the noodles, looks of pure satisfaction appeared on their faces.

The noodles they had been dreaming of were finally right in front of them again.

Then, Liu Xu said to the other eight, ”Take a look at these noodles. Now, take a whiff of that aroma. See? We weren’t lying to you, were we?”

At that moment, the eight newcomers couldn’t contain their delighted surprise.

The noodles really did look incredibly delicious.

Even though they were just plain noodles, they looked far more appetizing than beef noodles, rabbit noodles, and the like.

At this point, the three women already felt that getting the large bowls had been the right choice.

Time to dig in.

After taking the first bite, they were utterly blown away.

It was incredibly delicious—even better than they had imagined.

At that moment, they finally understood why Liu Xu and his friends would drive more than two hours just to come here and eat noodles.

They also understood why Liu Xu’s group had been so impatient before.

It was just so unbelievably good!

Driving for over two hours just to eat a bowl of noodles might seem absurd.

But now, all they could say was, it was absolutely worth it.

At the same time, they also thought, ’Thank goodness we came along.’

Otherwise, they would have missed out on such incredible noodles.

A bite of noodles followed by a sip of broth—it was an unparalleled pleasure.

Seeing the expressions on the eight newcomers’ faces, Liu Xu’s group exchanged a smile.

’Looks like these guys finally believe what we told them, huh?’

It was an inexplicably satisfying feeling.

Then, they also began to eat their noodles.

Slowly, the noodles were eaten and the broth was drunk.

Pure satisfaction!

The other eight felt the same way; they were also completely satisfied.

Then one of the men suddenly said, ”Crap! I forgot to take a picture and post it in the company group chat. We need to let those guys who said it wasn’t worth it have a good look and see just how worth it this is!”

”Exactly! We should’ve posted a picture in the group. Then let’s see if those guys still say we’re crazy!”

Hearing the eight of them talk like this, Liu Xu’s group exchanged another smile. They were all thinking, ’You guys may have come along, but before you tasted the noodles, you probably thought we were crazy too, didn’t you?’

Then, Liu Xu said, ”A picture alone won’t work. The visual impact isn’t the same as seeing it in person, and you can’t smell the aroma. In the end, you have to taste it yourself to believe.”

”We should post one anyway. It’s better than nothing.”

”Well, it’s easy enough to post one,” one of the men said, then turned to Li You. ”Boss, I’ll have another small bowl. I think I can totally handle another one.”

”In that case, I’ll have a small bowl too. No problem for me either.”

”Me too.”

”...”

All seven men, including Liu Xu and Xie Yunfei, ordered another small bowl.

Li You chuckled. ”Alright, coming right up.”

Another seven bowls sold. That meant he was only five bowls away.

’Sweet!’

Before long, seven small bowls of Yangchun Noodles were brought to the table.

”Alright, alright, pictures first. Let’s take pictures.”

All thirteen of them took out their phones and started taking pictures.

Besides posting the pictures to the company group chat, they each posted on their social media feeds as well.

After that, the seven men started eating again.

Meanwhile, the company group chat became very lively.

”Where are you guys? Are you really at Jiulong Gorge?”

”You really went all the way to Jiulong Gorge to eat noodles? You guys are wild.”

”Everyone, look at these noodles. They actually look really delicious!”

”Pfft! It’s just a picture. You probably used a filter, didn’t you?”

”If they could get this kind of shot from any old bowl of noodles just by adding a filter, then they must be top-tier photographers.”

”That’s true. In that case, the noodles must actually be pretty good. But even if they’re delicious, you can’t possibly drive over two hours just to eat them!”

”Right. The noodles look good, for sure, but driving over two hours to eat them is still ridiculous.”

”...”

Liu Xu and his group weren’t surprised when they saw the reactions in the chat.

The reason was just as Liu Xu had said earlier.

’Whatever, let them say what they want.’

Slowly, the seven men, Liu Xu included, finished their small bowls of noodles.

Now they were completely full and utterly satisfied.

After paying and sitting for a while longer, Liu Xu and his group walked out the door.

They were going to take a stroll in the gorge.

Although their main purpose was to eat noodles, since they were already here and time permitted, they were definitely going to take a walk in the gorge.

”Stay safe, everyone!”

”Will do, Boss.”

As Liu Xu’s group headed for the gorge, Li You lay back down in his rocking chair, waiting for the next customer.

Soon, a van pulled into the parking lot.

Li You’s eyes lit up. ’Weekends really are different!’

The van door opened.

Four adults and two children got out.

When he got a clear look at one of the adults, Li You smiled.

It was Wei Ping.

Wei Ping was back. This time, it looked like he had brought his family with him.

His parents, wife, and two children.

Wei Ping had mentioned once before that he wanted to bring his family to try the noodles sometime.

It seemed today was that day.

Li You stood up to welcome his guests.

As the group approached, Wei Ping smiled. ”Boss, I’m back. Boss, let me make some introductions.”

After Wei Ping introduced everyone, Li You confirmed that he hadn’t guessed wrong.

They were indeed Wei Ping’s parents, his wife, and his two children.

Li You said enthusiastically, ”Sir, Ma’am, welcome! Welcome, kids! It’s a pleasure to meet all of you!”

”You’re too kind, Boss.”

”You’re too kind, young man. Wei Ping told us your noodles here are exceptionally good, so we came.”

”Hi, mister!”

Wei Ping’s parents and wife were very polite and happy.

The two children were very well-mannered.

Li You was delighted. After a lively exchange of greetings with Wei Ping’s family, he turned and went into the kitchen.

This time, Wei Ping ordered four large bowls and two small bowls.

That was six bowls in total.

Once these six bowls were sold, his first main mission would be complete.

The reward for completing the mission was a recipe and a chance at the lottery.

So, Li You was very excited.
