Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 559: Chapter 340: Yang Cheng’s Follow-Up

Yang Xiuyun listened to her sister-in-law’s words and accepted the broken silver. Possibly because she had something on her mind, she didn’t feel like staying longer. After greeting Erniang who had just come out of the house, she hurriedly went back.

”What’s the matter?” asked Xiaomi while pulling Xiaocao gently, puzzled: ”Why does it seem like your mother looks very anxious?”

Xiaocao shook her head: ”I don’t know. Just now, mother was whispering with aunt and then it became like this.”

Xiaomi immediately understood; there must be something that hasn’t been completed yet.

Erniang also guessed it, patting Xiaocao’s head: ”Xiaocao, don’t tell anyone about your mother talking with aunt. Oh, by the way, I have some food here, have a taste.”

It was a few dried red dates.

She used it to stave off hunger while working in the afternoon, and now it was perfect to appease Xiaocao.

”Thank you, aunt.” Then she looked at Xiaomi: ”Xiaomi, do you want to come with me to pick wild vegetables? The dandelions right now are the most tender and delicious.”

So Xiaomi was led away by Xiaocao.

With everything reviving in spring, animals also need rest; it’s really not suitable for hunting.

Though the family was not short on vegetables, these wild ones had their own special flavor. Besides dandelions, there were also other tender greens like dandelion leaves.

Coincidentally, they could also scatter some houttuynia seeds in various places where they picked wild vegetables.

Though the seed germination rate wasn’t high, she had plenty of seeds, and they were improved ones from the space.

Lately, the temperature was steadily rising, and with plenty of rain, many should definitely take root.

Then, she could eat lots of houttuynia in Xiangmu Village!

The two little ones didn’t think much about adult matters. Xiaocao couldn’t think of it, while Xiaomi guessed that Uncle Liu must have provided a complete good solution, so there wasn’t urgency.

They spent the whole afternoon running around the village, occasionally exclaiming in surprise.

Sometimes Xiaocao would take a bow and arrows, find a deserted field to practice, while Xiaomi checked her skills to see if there was improvement.

Once in a while, they’d encounter other kids and mostly just exchange greetings before each went on their way.

Xiaocao used to have a few friends she played well with, but since she started learning hunting from Xiaomi, she had less interaction with those friends.

After all, others always talked about what they did, what they ate, or occasionally complained about their parents preferring their brothers over them.

What Xiaocao talked about was how her father bought her a bow and arrows, and how he shared the hunting earnings with her today.

Over time, she naturally had fewer common topics with her original group, not to mention there was even less time to pick wild vegetables or cut pigweed together after starting hunting.

Fortunately, Xiaocao’s mind was now completely filled with hunting and making money, so she didn’t feel much sadness.

However, it’s not that no one wanted to be like Xiaocao, to learn hunting and earn money themselves.

Setting aside whether their parents would buy them a practice bow, just the physical training methods they sought from Xiaocao already intimidated them, even asking Xiaocao to stop doing it as it was embarrassing.

Regarding this, Xiaocao also complained to Xiaomi, who found it exasperating.

What she taught Xiaocao were simple trainings like sit-ups, push-ups, or running to build endurance and strength, especially strengthening the arms.

Knowing the biased perception towards girls, she even reminded Xiaocao to train in her own room and just run around their house.

Unexpectedly, she was still gossiped about, and it was even a group of ten-year-old girls who spurned her.

Xiaomi could only shrug helplessly, expressing that there was nothing she could do.

Putting aside the children’s matters, after Yang Xiuyun went home, she first hid the broken silver given by her sister-in-law, then went to work in the pigsty.

In the afternoon, the Jiang family’s duck shed was built, and two people were found to set up a simple kitchen in the front yard.

The fishing pavilion was simple, and in the morning, two young men from the village would come to help; others weren’t needed.

Including Yang Cheng.

Since there was no work tomorrow, Yang Cheng didn’t need to stay at his brother-in-law’s house tonight.

With what happened during the day, after receiving his wages, he hurried home as if he were being chased by ghosts.

Zhang Yuan watched his brother-in-law’s hurried back, frowned, greeted the others, and went home first.

During dinner, since the three kids were around, he didn’t say much. It wasn’t until lying in bed that he talked to his wife about it.
