The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 570: Chapter 570- [Skill Alchemy]- [Einherjar] (2)

Blades, spears, halberds, and greatswords, each one filled with terrifying divine pressure.

Those familiar with the new doctrines of the Temple of Light could immediately recognize the skill. After all, it was none other than [Lightforge Ascension].

However, it was not over. The glowing markings within her body glowed intensely, amplifying her power to new heights.

”[Silver Resonance Drive].”

Delicia muttered under her breath. The skill she had just used was one of the powerful skills she learned as a knight of the Silver Shields previously.

She hadn’t forgotten any of those skills; it was simply lying dormant within her.

[Silver Resonance Drive]... a technique meant to amplify defensive intent into overwhelming offensive force.

Two skills, that’s right, under the immense pressure of the leader of Cerberus, Delicia completely unleashed her potential, erupting forth with two skills.

However, it was still not over.

Another force, different in essence from the two skills, erupted. It forcefully pulled the two skills together and brought out a new, never before seen phenomenon.

Under the influence of that unknown force, the two skills began fusing.

The power that erupted forth from the activation of [Silver Resonance Drive] was sucked into the large glowing sun made of holy energy above.

Then, in a shocking and awe inspiring manner, the sun compressed, turning into a glowing sphere, no more than two meters big.

Additionally, it also changed shape. However, it did not turn into an armament but instead took on a humanoid form.

The figure was completely white and similar to Delicia in appearance. Even their height and body shape were the same.

”What is that?”

Kevin questioned, his eyes wide in shock at the white figure floating in the sky. The pressure coming from it was so immense that even the temperature rose sharply.

The other two, similarly shocked, did not answer. No, they were unable to answer.

None of them knew what kind of skill Delicia unleashed or if it could still be called a skill.

The only one unaffected by the whole scene was perhaps the leader of Cerberus, who had lost his mind.

Everything happened so fast, from Delicia closing her eyes to erupting forth with two skills and the subsequent appearance of the white figure above. hardly a couple of seconds had passed.

The leader of Cerberys ignored all the details and eyed the weakened Delicia like a beast filled with bloodlust.

There was only a little distance between them, and soon his sword was about to reach the other party.

Swoosh...

Right then, before the sword could reach her, the white figure floating in the sky disappeared and reappeared right in front of the man at dizzying speed.

Then, before the astonished gazes of everyone, the white figure that closely resembled Delicia extended her hand.

A beam of golden white annihilation was created, erasing everything in its path.

As for the man, he disintegrated into ash under the force of the attack. There was no resistance, no sound, only erasure. It was plain, simple, yet devastatingly powerful.

With the battle over, the noise from the surroundings returned once again. The pressure that had enveloped the place vanished.

The white figure, as if unable to maintain itself any longer, dissolved into motes of light.

Delicia exhaled, breathing a sigh of relief. The next instant, the repercussion of all of her actions caught up with her, and she fainted.

A little distance away, witnessing the entire spectacle, Kevin, Gwen, and Rolan were in awe.

”Big sister is terrifying.”

The other two also acknowledged that aspect.

Though the next second, they snapped out of their daze and sprinted towards Delicia to check on her.

”She overdid it.” Gwen muttered, feeling the chaotic fluctuations in Delicia’s mana.

The latter had pushed herself beyond her limits, causing strain in her mana paths.

.

Half a day later, when Delicia opened her eyes again, she noticed the faint scent of medicine and clean linen wrapped around her.

”Where?”

”You’re awake.”

Just as she said that, a gentle voice made her turn her head. Sitting beside her bed was Eleanor, reading a book.

”This is the infirmary near the filming site. You fainted after the battle and were brought here by your comrades.” As she said that, a look of relief flashed in Eleanor’s eyes.

Fainted? Memories flooded her mind as she tried to remember the events of the day.

That’s right, during the shoot, they were attacked by bandits. Eleanor was captured, and she went forward to rescue her. After that, she fought with the man who appeared to be the leader of the bandits and was pushed into a corner.

To ensure Eleanor’s safety, she had no choice but to fight desperately.

To her shock, the condition of her body started improving mid-fight, and she ended up using a power that felt both foreign and familiar.

Was it because of that skill that she fainted?

Delicia slowly tried to sit up, but Eleanor gently pressed her shoulder back down.

”Don’t move too much. The healers said your mana channels were severely strained.”

”What happened after?” Delicia questioned. She desperately wanted to know if others were alright.

Eleanor closed the book in her hand and explained what she knew.

”Not long after you fainted, the local knight authority arrived. They sealed the entire area and conducted a full investigation. When they learned what had happened, they were shocked”...

”The bandits weren’t ordinary criminals. They belonged to an infamous mercenary organization called Cerberus. Every one of them had a bounty on their head. According to the knights, they’ve been responsible for countless kidnappings, assassinations, and massacres.”

So they were bandits? Now that she had the clarity of mind, Delicia realized that it made sense. The skills and abilities of the other party were far too great to be mere bandits.

”They sent several pursuit squads after the two who escaped. Given their injuries and the terrain, they won’t get far. And, since you and the others were the ones who defeated them, the law states that the bounties are yours to claim.”

”Bounties?”

Eleanor nodded. ”Yes. Kevin, Gwen, Rolan, and you. The knights were in disbelief that squires could defeat members of Cerberus. Some of them even asked which order trained you. When they learned it was the Temple of Light, they even looked terrified.”

A small smile bloomed at the end of her sentence. Then she stood up and bowed deeply.

”Lady Eleanor?”

”Thank you. If it weren’t for you, I might not be here right now.”

Her voice trembled slightly despite her attempt to stay composed. No matter how much she claimed she was over it, a trauma was a trauma after all.

She feared what would have happened to her had she fallen into the clutches of those men.

Delicia slowly reached out and lightly held the other woman’s hand.

”Lady Eleanor does not need to thank me. I was just doing my duty. Besides, I’m also at fault here. As your escort, we failed to recognize the danger beforehand, causing you to fall into it. So, I’m greatly relieved seeing that you are alright.”

Had anything happened to Eleanor, she wouldn’t know how to face Reinhardt.

The two ladies looked at each other and smiled.

It was then that the door to the room was opened, and the peaceful atmosphere was shattered by the arrival of Kevin and the others.

”Big sister Delicia!”

Kevin spoke boisterously. Behind him came Gwen, Rolan, and several others, their faces carrying a mix of worry and awe.

Before Delicia could even sit straight, she was bombarded with constant questions.

Questions about her health, questions about her power, and questions about the last skill she used.

Before it could go any longer, Eleanor from the side cleared her throat.

”Alright, stop bombarding her with questions. She just woke up and is still dizzy.”

Only then did the others realize their mistakes and step back.

Seeing the awkward and sheepish smiles of her comrades, Delicia smiled, feeling somewhat touched.

Once the excitement settled, Delicia placed her attention on Eleanor, her expression serious.

”What about the film?”

At that question, everyone wore a somber expression.

The set had been turned into a battlefield. Blood stained the floors. Several crew members were injured, and Eleanor herself had nearly been kidnapped. Under such circumstances, it would be expected, no, natural for production to be halted indefinitely.

However, to their surprise, Eleanor shook her head. ”We’re continuing.”

Continuing?

Everyone blinked.

”I spoke with the director earlier. After the initial shock passed, he made the decision.”

”Isn’t that risky?” Kevin frowned.

”It is, which is why the director and everyone have decided to change the security structure.”

Eleanor explained.

”The local knight authorities have been officially contracted. They promised to provide armed squads to guard the perimeter, the actors, the crew, and all supply routes. Unlike the last time, no unverified personnel will be allowed near the set.”

Delicia, Silvia, and the others nodded their heads. The decision made sense, given their recent encounter with the infamous mercenary band.
