The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 565: Chapter 565- Eleanor In Peril? Achieve Level 6!!

CLANG... The massive beast was hurled sideways, crashing into the cliff with earth-shaking force.

Before it could recover Vangeance was already upon it. He rushed forth and delivered a powerful vertical slash upward using the Second Light of the [Holy Blade Arts].

The result?

It cleanly bisected the Storm Sovereign’s right wing, robbing it of its ability of flight.

BOOOM... Vangeance attacked again and again. The surface of the mountain was marked with deep cuts. The Storm Sovereign was driven deep into the stone, its body half buried in shattered rock.

Lightning sparked across its now broken wings. It tried to rise. But Vangeance planted a foot on its neck.

Then, with a surge of brilliant holy aura, he delivered the final blow.

SHIING... Blood spurted forth, bisecting its head from its torso.

The beast’s massive frame fell to the mountainside, and the lightning vortex above slowly disappeared.

Even the raging winds calmed down a little.

With the silence returning to the mountain once again, the figure of Vangeance could be seen standing atop the defeated beast. Blood covered his sword and armor, sweat trickling down his face, and his chest heaving.

Nevertheless, his straight posture and sharp aura were powerful enough to strike fear in any opponent.

The battle and the trial these past few days had pushed his body and mind to the edge. Without him even knowing he underwent a profound transformation during the battle.

At this moment sounds of footsteps approached near him, and the figure of Silvia could be seen.

”Good, you defeated the Storm Sovereign.”

She observed his changes before nodding her head and walking forward.

”Let’s go and get the Storm Sovereign’s egg to complete your trial.”

Vangeance, who was feeling the rush of excitement, returned to his senses and followed behind.

Soon, they found the Storm Sovereign’s nest in the mountaintop.

There were three eggs, each the size of a football.

Vangeance picked one and stored it inside his bag.

With this, they have completed one of the trials given by the Altar, obtain the egg of the Storm Sovereign.

Now they moved on to their next trial.

.

.

In another place.

Inside a crumbling stone house on the outskirts of a nameless town.

A dozen men could be seen sitting around a table, laughing crudely and eating greasy meat. Smoke, sweat, and alcohol thickened the air.

One look at their rough appearance and the undisguised bloody aura that surrounded them was enough to tell others that these people were no saints.

In fact, almost all of them had bounties and were wanted all over the seven kingdoms.

They were an infamous mercenary band who were insane enough to take on the name of a legendary abyssal monster, Cerberus.

”Tch.” Suddenly, one of the men, clearly too drunk and over his head, clicked his tongue and commented.

”Eleanor, that actress, have you all seen her on stage? That sinful body is wasted hidden under all those layers of clothes. I really want to see what she looks like without them.”

The way he licked his lips looked extremely disgusting.

It was not just him; the entire bunch was daydreaming, stripping the actress in their mind.

”Yeah. Bet she’d sound sweeter when she’s moaning.”

”Pretty little bird. Just needs her wings clipped.”

Dirty jokes flew freely each one fouler than the last.

The men slapped the table, roaring with laughter, drinking deeper emboldened by alcohol and shared depravity.

One man among the lot stood out. With his boots planted on the table, a scar claiming one of his eyes, and possessing an intimidating frame, the man was the leader of the mercenary band.

”Don’t forget why we’re here.” He swirled the bottle in his hand, taking light chugs and speaking lazily.

The moment he opened his mouth, the room fell silent.

The leader grabbed a large pouch by his side and threw it in the middle of the table.

Along with the clatter of plates, the jingle of coins cut through the din. And when gold coins started pouring out of the pouch, every eye was instinctively attracted towards it.

”Our client paid good money. All we gotta do is scare her and make her back down from the field of acting. I don’t want any stupid moves.”

”Just a scare? That’s it?” Someone scoffed.

”Easy coin. Walk in, break a few things, and whisper a few threats. Job done.” Another grinned.

The leader of the mercenaries might carry an intimidating aura. However, this bunch was clearly lunatics and committed their fair share of crimes. It was not easy to rein them all in.

Soon, sounds of discontent began emerging. Not everyone looked satisfied with the arrangement.

One man licked grease from his fingers and spoke with a disturbing gleam in his eyes.

”Why stop there? If we’re already going that far, why not take her? Just for a while. Have some fun. Then dump her back, shaken and broken.”

The room fell silent.

Everyone had the same thought in their minds, but not everyone spoke it out loud. However, with the idea now thrown into the mix, the bunch couldn’t help but entertain the fantasy.

Grins spread, and anticipation began rising.

”That won’t be easy. According to the client, she is guarded by knights of one of the Seven Great Knight Orders of Solaris.”

The leader interrupted their thoughts and warned them of the power of the other side.

However, several of his subordinates snorted, all sporting big personalities.

One of them scoffed and reasoned. ”Knights from one of the Seven Great Knight Orders of Solaris can indeed be troublesome. However, from what I have seen, the ones guarding the woman are only a bunch of brats. They might just be fresh squires and recruits who have been sent outside to gain experience.”

His words caused laughter to erupt again. Brutality spread amongst the band.

”If the ones guarding her are just brats, then this mission is easy money. These kids haven’t even seen real blood. They don’t know what real fear is. I shall show them what it means to aim for knighthood.”

”Look at him go, it appears his ruthless side is surfacing again.”

”You can’t help him after all, he likes killing children.”

The name of one of the seven great knight orders of Solaris might shake others. However, Cerberus was no simple mercenary band.

They were a bunch of vicious criminals who had a proven track record all around the smaller nations. Many of them were even former knights or adventurers who joined the Cerberus after their actions were revealed.

They might have hesitated if it were a squad of veteran knights. However, against just brats who were still learning how to hold their sword, what was there to be afraid of?

The bunch began grinning, already dreaming about pinning the woman of their dreams in their head.

Seeing that their minds were made up, the leader did not discourage either. After all, they were birds of a similar feather.

He rolled out a map on the table and started making a plan.

Time, place, and escape paths, everything was chosen carefully. You could see that this was just one of the many missions they had taken over the years.

With every crude laugh and clinking cup, the plan solidified.

A plan born from arrogance.

A plan fueled by greed.

A plan that would soon collide with something far beyond their comprehension.

And when it did, there would be no room for regrets.

.

.

Morning sunlight spilled through the window, falling on the still asleep Eleanor.

The beautiful woman with soft gold hair with red streaks stirred awake. She stretched with a feline grace before everything seemed to settle in her vision.

The scent of fresh flowers and polished wood filled the air, making her morning comfortable. Not at all like the anxious mornings she used to endure before he intervened.

Eleanor rose, washed her body, and got dressed.

The day started like usual. By the time she emerged, breakfast was already prepared.

The maids bowed lightly.

Eleanor nodded at them all, exchanging some morning pleasantries.

She was away on a shoot, far from the city and even the kingdom.

The only reason she was able to live so comfortably was because Reinhardt took care of everything.

These maids... they were not just ordinary servants, they belonged to Reinhardt’s personal household, individuals who served the city lord directly. The fact that they now attended to her daily needs was a silent declaration.

She was under his protection.

That realization never failed to make her chest tighten. It made her feel cherished.

After breakfast, Eleanor stepped outside.

Waiting just beyond the gates were her escort for the day. Her favorite squad.

”Good morning, Lady Eleanor!”

A boisterous young man called out. He had dark black hair, was decked out in neat knightly armor, and brimming with near inexhaustible energy.

Next to him stood Gwen. With rose gold hair that caught the sunlight, she possessed a face that was both beautiful and composed. Her posture was elegant and her aura graceful, unlike the boy next to her.

It spoke of her noble upbringing.

”I hope you slept well, Lady Eleanor.”
