The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 289: Chapter 289- New Training (3)

Silvia and the others set a record. That said, what she was aiming for was not to set a new record but to instead complete this training and get praised by the Commander.

To this extent, she turned no stone unturned and reaptedly stunned the masses. Everyone could see that the column of gale heading for her team was weak and small in comparison to what the other teams had to endure so far.

What’s going on? Why did the gale force suddenly become weaker, not to mention slow?

”It’s because of their formation. I see now, the gale force becomes stronger or weaker based on the wind resistance it senses coming towards the stele. Since at this moment they are using the arrowhead formation, the draft created by the woman in the front is masking the presence of the other five behind her, thus deceiving the gale force”...

”What’s more, she also aimed for this precise moment when the air around the gale force was thin after targeting the other ten teams. Haha, as expected of a prodigy that comes from that reputed family of knights”.

A high ranking level 7 knight spoke to his team, explaining the tactics that Silvia used.

Just like he said, the column of gale targeted towards them was weak in comparison to what the other teams had to face. However, it was still powerful enough to knock them back.

At the forefront, Delicia grit her teeth, her expression serious as she charged forward using the skill that she had recently learned. This was her role, to be the first vanguard for the team.

”[Lightforge Ascension]” A giant glowing orb of holy energy more than five meters in diameter rose above her head. Then at her gesture, that glowing orb morphed shapes, turning into a glowing sword that sped towards the oncoming pillar of gale in an attempt to disperse it.

The first holy skill that Delicia learned after joining the Temple of Light was the [Lightforge Ascension] skill. Of course, she also practiced the other basic holy skill that their order taught.

However, for some reason, she felt an affinity for the new skills that Reinhardt had recently indoctrinated into the training of his knight order, and thus she was able to master them far faster than any of the other skills.

Be that as it may, she might have managed to grasp some of the profundities of the skill and thus manifest the concept. Nevertheless, she was still far away from actually making it a weapon.

The large glowing sword made of holy power that she manifested was only able to stop the gale force for a while.

BOOM... Her skill exploded in a brilliant display of light and fireworks. After that, the gale came smashing. Delicia grit her teeth and endured the blast with her body. Nevertheless, she was still blown back.

That said, a small smile tugged at the corner of her lips. She had fulfilled her role. Now it was time for the others.

”Haaah!!” Rolan roared, the gale that blew Delicia hadn’t completely subsided and was now coming for them. As the person in the lead now, it was his duty to hold his end of the role.

”Enchantment Skill [Blessing of Valor]. [Holy Blade Arts]: First Light,” he roared out loudly, layering his strongest enchantment skill with his strongest sword technique.

The blade, tracing particles of holy energy, looked extremely brilliant and divine as it slashed forward. Standing up to its title as the Divine Testament of the Sword, Rolan managed to cut even an intangible substance such as air in half.

Then again, mastery was very important. He might have gotten the concept right. However, having not even mastered the [One with the Sword] state yet, which is the basic needed to at least use the first light at a proper level, he wasn’t completely able to neutralise the gale and was blown back as a result.

What’s more, one portion of the cut gale was still heading towards the team’s direction.

”Heads up!!” Rolan yelled out.

At this moment, to make matters worse, there was another column of gale heading towards them. Two gale forces... needless to say, the situation was not looking good for them.

”We cannot stop even for a second. Vangeance, you know that right?” Silvia called out from the very back of the frontline.

Every member had a set role that must be completed no matter what. Whether this will be a success or a failure depends on each of them. Failing to fulfil one’s role will inevitably screw the plan, ultimately leading to failure.

”Tch, don’t worry, I have a plan,” Saying that, he grabbed Kevin who was running in front of him.

”Eh? What are you doing, senior?” For some reason, the boy had this ominous feeling that something bad was gonna happen to him.

”I’ll do your part. You take on that incomplete gale that Rolan couldn’t cut. Use that ability you showed me when fighting those adventurers”.

Saying that, Vangeance picked the boy up and, with his incredible arm strength, hurled him forward like a cannonball.

”Aaaaahh!! Senior, how can you treat your junior like that?” Kevin complained. Though his voice was drowned by the ferocious wind currently right in front of his face.

These air currents, from a distance they looked like columns of pillars. However, only when one approached extremely close to it would they be able to notice that these air currents were actually in the shape of a fierce tiger.

Clench... Kevin tightly grabbed his sword and muttered its name [Tiamat]. At that very instant, a deep gurgling noise like the awakening of some ancient beast sounded out from the sword, followed by it morphing into a giant maw that devoured the incoming air current.

Swoosh... the air blast that could even give a true knight a challenge, was easily devoured by the sword. That said, before Kevin could smile in victory, another air current heading right behind the first one approached him.
