The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 255: Chapter 255- Alive?!

Thaloryx’s scales ran so cold that it could actually freeze the entire sea. Naturally, when the creature tried to touch it, it’s tentacles froze.

Seeing that it was no match for the leviathan, the Devil of the sea tried to escape the same way when it faced the Emerald Knight.

However, what it forgot was that for Thaloryx, the sea was its domain. It was the venerate of the ocean; the same tactic won’t work against it. And so, when all runes in it’s fins lit up, the leviathan opened its mouth, devouring the creature and devil’s triangle along with it.

In a matter of seconds, it devoured all the water from around this area, causing the sea’s floor bed to appear for a moment.

The creature was devoured by the leviathan, and the next second, the sea returned to normal with the water returning to its place. However, there was no longer a Devil’s Triangle in this world.

Reinahrdt commanded, and Thaloryx delivered without fail. Its job done, the venerate of the ocean returned to the dimension it was summoned from.

The colossal leviathan was gone, but the shock plastered on the faces of the knights did not. Even Jerrel was no exception.

”This... that.. Sir Reinahrdt.. what..” It was no wonder he was unable to form any words after all, the power that the beast displayed was so great that even a level 9 knight felt a great threat from it.

What’s more, the abilities that it displayed, to devour entire seas in its mouth, if a creature like that were let loose in a port city, it would disappear off the map of the world in an instant.

”Haha, that was just one of my summons, it’s not that powerful” Reinhardt patted the Emerald Knight to get him out of his daze.

Usually, he was not the one to brag. However, he did this time to show the other party the power of the Divine Paladin and to possibly subtly coerce their mind into thinking what would happen if they messed with him or his squad.

Naturally, it would be best if this somehow managed to help reduce the trial or punishment placed on the house of Odessa. However, it seemed like it was a wasted effort from his side to make an impression on the Emerald Knight and the order he led.

After all, the man himself was also embroiled in this plot. Now that he had used the [Eyes of Divine Clarity], he was starting to understand what was going on.

A huge plot was in the midst of unfolding, and they were the pawns on this board. The opponent thought that they could get rid of Jerrel, along with everyone. However, too bad for them, an unexpected anomaly had joined this voyage and destroyed their plot.

The peace and quiet returned after the devil’s triangle was gone.

The place was deep darkness so dark that not even a trace of light could penetrate it. Burble... Burble... suddenly, the water in the area boiled, revealing two unsettling crimson eyes, terrifying to the extreme.

The thing; no, it should be more appropriately addressed as the king, opened its eyes and glanced in a certain direction.

”Heh, my cute pet has been killed huh? Interesting, I didn’t think that it could be killed even underwater. It seems like the humans have improved a little. Hehe, what fun. I cannot wait for that ’time’ to approach any sooner”.

With nautical devices working again, even the knights could sail the ship, albeit somewhat awkwardly, to the Kingdom of Rune.

At the helm was Reinhardt, holding the wheel. Of course, he did not know jackshit when it came to navigating. However, he wanted to hold the wheel to fulfil one of his old fantasies.

And so, for the rest of the journey that took them approximately one and a half days, the Divine Paladin had changed his class to the Straw Captain.

”This is the port city or was, before the demons attacked. Welcome to the Staleport city”. The moment they arrived at the kingdom of Rune, the scene that greeted them was a vast scorched land that was once a prosperous city. However, after the attack of the demons, everything changed.

”From here, we would be travelling by land”, Jerrel instructed. The trial was being held in the capital, which was one more day of travelling distance from here.

And so, just as the knights got on their horses they brought along with them on the ship and were about to march towards the capital, Rune. The Divine Paladin suddenly asked for some time.

He wanted to see the destruction wrought in the Staleport city by the one who looked like Scarlett.

And so, standing on the scorched earth, Reinhardt activated his [Eyes of Divine Clarity]. At that moment, everything became clear to him as if he were present there when it happened.

He saw what was displayed and also what they were trying to hide. At that moment, all pieces connected like a puzzle being solved. At the same time, Reinhardt clenched his hands as an unbelievable amount of rage that he felt for the first time coursed through his body.

The sheer anger of a man who has surpassed the realm of heroes and entered the divine. could be imagined. The entire city shook as if a mini earthquake was occurring at that moment.

Feeling his rage, his loyal shadow slowly manifested before him and asked in concern.

”Master, are you alright?”

”It’s her, it really is her”.

Although Karina did not see the scene that he did, she did not need to ask what he meant by ’her’ being alive.

”If she is alive, then I must find her. Only she knows the place where the...”

”Master, please calm down” Karina hugged him, making him snap out of the trance like state that he was in.

”Although I know it is very important for you to find them, you cannot be reckless. Please remember what happened back then, more than three years ago at the battle of the Black Tide”.
